World of Tanks Blitz has a wide variety of tanks to choose from in every tier, each nation has its strengths and weaknesses as well as the tank. However, the reality is some tanks have so many strengths and very few weaknesses, this makes other tanks objectively better to get and keep than others. Couple this with the fact that not everyone has the spare time to grind multiple tanks, it is to your advantage to know which tanks are keepers.

The French tank line is known for its mobile heavy tanks and autoloading guns, this means that you can fire a certain number of shells before having to reload!

We will skip tiers 1-3 as you can only play 1 tank in those tiers and you will most likely breeze through those tanks even if you are playing very casually.

WoT Blitz Best French Tier 4 Tanks

In tier 4 you will be presented with a choice, either go with a heavy tank or a tank destroyer.

Best Tier 4 Tank: B1

• Commonly referred to by the community as the “Duck” the B1 Heavy Tank is unique for its tier because it is one out of two tech tree heavy tanks in tier 4 in the whole game.
• It has great frontal armor, both its turret and hull have great armor values and if you wiggle your tank you can get a lot more bounces.
• The B1’s gun is very beginner-friendly, it has a fast rate of fire but it sacrifices average hit point damage per shot. This means that even if you miss your shot, you can shoot again in no time!
• Despite its armor, it is still reasonably mobile. All of these combined will make your opponents remember the quacks of the duck.

Second best tier 4 tank: SAu 40

• The SAU40 has a great gun that can deal 160 average hit point damage with a decent fire rate. This combination gives it good damage per minute. It also had great shell penetration and the gun is precise, you can snipe from long range to avoid being detected and being shot at.
• If you are detected the SAu 40 has decent armor to withstand shots from your opponents.
• It also has a good view range, meaning you can spot enemies before they spot you despite being a tank destroyer. It does have a literal watchtower though.

World of Tanks Blitz Best French Tier 5 Tanks

Tier 5 is typically where newer players get a better understanding of the game and the different mechanics and skills needed to win matches.

Best Tier 5 Tank: BDR G1 B

• The BDR G1 B may look funky but it is very well armored. The frontal hull and turret armor have great thickness and opponents that will not properly aim at your weak spots will have a hard time damaging you.
• If you want to use a tier VII gun on a tier V vehicle then the BDR G1B is the tank for you. The 90mm top gun on the BDR is a joy to use, with 225 average hit point damage, great damage per minute, and more than enough shell penetration, no opponent is safe from your onslaught
• Despite all of this, the BDR also has respectable mobility. It can go up to 32 km/h!

Second Best Tier 5 Tank: AMX ELC Bis

• This fast and small tank will introduce you to the playstyle required by the French Light Tanks. You must be able to spot out enemies, fire while being concealed, and relocate when necessary.
• To help you spot enemies this tank has a good view range.
• To help you fire while being concealed, the ELC Bis has good camouflage, and being small, it is not easily spotted. This tank also has a good gun with great average hit point damage.
• And to help you relocate, this light tank has great mobility.

World of Tanks Blitz Best French Tier 6 Tanks

In Tier 6 you will be given the chance to drive one of the best Tier 6 heavy tanks in the game and you will also be introduced to autoloading guns in the light tank line.

Best Tier 6 Tank: ARL44

• The ARL 44 is considered one of the best tier 6 tanks in the game due to having a tier 8 gun, engine, and good armor.
• Has great armor that can bounce a lot of shots both on the turret and the hull
• You will be able to use a great tier 8 90mm gun that has very good shell penetration, damage, and accuracy. You won’t be worrying about not being able to damage your enemies when driving this beast.
• The ARL 44 is a mobile heavy tank thanks to its tier 8 engine.

Second Best Tier 6 Tank: AMX 12 t

• The AMX 12 t will introduce you to a unique type of gun in World of Tanks Blitz. The tank has an auto-loading gun that has 3 shells that each deal 160 points of damage. This means you fire a shell every 2.5 seconds without having to reload until you have fired three consecutively.
• The autoloader will allow you to inflict more than 450 points of damage in a short period. During the reload of the clip you can always hide, reposition or flank.
• Relocating, hiding, and flanking should not be an issue because of the mobility and camouflage of the tank.

World of Tanks Blitz Best French Tier 7 Tanks

In tier 7 the trend of a strong heavy tank and mobile autoloading french tank continues in this very diverse tier that is home to a lot of tech tree tanks and premium tanks.

Best Tier 7 Tank: AMX M4 45

• The AMX M4 45 is a unique mobile heavy tank that excels in brawling with other tanks 1v1.
• This tank has good damage per minute at 2166, allowing you to out damage other tier 7 heavy tanks. This is coupled with a good amount of hit points at 1400 hit points which is the second-highest out of all tier VII heavy tanks in the game.
• It is very mobile for a heavy tank. This is because you can use a tier IX engine. This will allow you to keep up with medium tanks and brawl with them effectively.

Second Best Tier 7 Tank: AMX 13 75

• This little and fast tank can deal out damage in a fast manner thanks to its auto-loading gun and very fast magazine reload. This means that after you dump all of your shells into the enemy, you only need to wait 9 or so seconds before you begin firing three shells away again.
• The gun is also precise and has good average hit point damage. It has high damage per minute despite having an autoloader.
• The AMX 15 75 is a very small target. This means your opponents will have to aim properly to hit you, this is especially true if you are on the move.

World of Tanks Blitz Best Tier 8 French Tanks

In tier 8 you will encounter a lot of high hit point tanks because of the sheer amount of premium heavy tanks in this tier and tier IX.

Best Tier 8 Tank: AMX 50 100

• The AMX 50 100 is one of the most beginner-friendly tier 8 tanks in the game. This is because it has the best stock grind out of any tier 8 heavy tank. Some tier 8 stock tanks are notorious for being bad stock and very time-consuming to upgrade.
• The top gun on this tank is great, unlike the autoloading guns found in the previous french light tanks, the autoloader of the AMX 50 100 has high shell penetration values and great damage per shot at 310 average damage.
• The AMX 50 100 is the fastest Tier 8 heavy tank in the game. Use this to help medium tanks, surprise opponents with your speed, and get out of sticky situations.

Second Best Tier VIII Tank: AMX 13 90

• The AMX 13 90 is very similar to its predecessor.
• The gun is precise and has good damage per minute.
• The AMX 13 90 is very mobile and retains the small frame of the previous light tanks, making it still a very hard target.

World of Tanks Blitz Best French Tier 9 Tanks

In tier 9 French Tank Destroyers make a comeback and a weak link in the heavy tank line appears.

Best Tier IX Tank: Foch

• The Foch is a beast tank destroyer that has a devastating gun.
• The gun on the Foch allows it to deal more than 3400 points of damage per minute without any upgrade and a 50% crew. This can be further improved with provisions and equipment as well as a well-trained tank crew.
• The Foch is very well armored for a tank destroyer and is very mobile. This will allow you to go to sniping spots very quickly and to withstand oncoming fire when spotted.

Second Best Tier IX Tank: B-C 25 t AP

• The Bat.-Chatillon 25 t AP is a very nimble and small light tank that can peak out of cover to deal more than 900 damage in less than 10 seconds through its autoloading gun.
• Despite having an autoloader, the Bat.-Chatillon still has a good amount of damager per minute. The gun is also very precise.
• This tank is very fast, allowing you to relocate in an instant and flank enemies when the opportunity presents itself.

World of Tanks Blitz Best French Tier 10 Tanks

In Tier X you will have the opportunity to use heavy-hitting a tank destroyer and a surprisingly agile and equally heavy-hitting heavy tank.

Best Tier X Tank: AMX 50B

• A very enjoyable tank to use due to its mobility and firepower.
• The AMX 50B can have up to 3000 damage per minute! This is one of the highest damage per minute in tier X out of all tank classes. This is even though the AMX50B, like its predecessors, uses an autoloader.
• The AMX 50B’s hull is very well armored. Opponents who the mistake of auto-aiming at your hull will have a hard time damaging you.
• You will have very little to can complain about the gun on this tank, it has good damage per shot, a fast magazine reloads, is accurate, and has plenty of shell penetration.
• Despite its size and classification as a heavy tank, the AMX 50B is very mobile and very hard to flank alone.

Second Best Tier X Tank: Foch 155

• Very similar to the Tier IX Foch but has the advantage of allowing you to use an autoloading 155mm gun that deals a whopping 560 average hit point damage.
• It is very well armored for a tank destroyer in tier X
• It has very high damage per minute of over 3100 even when stock when using the autoloader.
• It is very mobile. In some games, you might even see this on the front line shredding everything in front of it.
