World of Tanks Blitz offers a wide variety of tanks for players to grind and play. A problem that you may encounter from this wide variety is that you may only have the time and resources to play one or two tanks for each tier and you may only want the best of the best because let’s face it, not all tanks can dominate the battlefield as some can. 

Knowing which American tanks are best in every tier can greatly help out new players in mastering the basics of the game without the worry of driving a subpar tank. Like any game, mastering the basics is essential in getting better and consequently having a more fun experience. 

The American tank line is known for the hull-down style of play, great turret armor, and versatile tanks. 

We will skip tiers 1-3 as you can only choose one tank until then. 

WoT Blitz Best American Tier 4 Tanks

Let’s start the list with Tier 4. In this tier, you will be introduced to two fast tanks, which reflect how fast players get out of lower tiers including tier 4. However, it will not hurt if you know which American is best.

Best Tier 4 Tank: M7

M7 Tank in World of Tanks Blitz. A start to a great tech tree

• Fast and nimble. You can easily get to the action with this tank. You can also quickly reposition to avoid being surrounded or get away from an unfavorable position.
• Has a decent gun with good shell penetration and great damage for its tier. 
• Great turret armor, introduces you to the trend with American tanks, the turret is a lot more armored than the body of the tank.
• Has good gun depression at 8 degrees. This will you to utilize hills and ridges to your advantage and this will allow you to practice going hull down. Going hull down means using your tank's gun depression to only expose the turret.

Second Best Tier 4 Tank: M8A1

M8A1 tank destroyer. Quitely silencing enemies

• This nimble little tank is a tank destroyer with great concealment and decent accuracy. This will allow you to snipe from a distance.
• This tank does not have a lot of hp and armor, so it will teach you positioning, patience and repositioning.
• While the M8A1 is not known for great armor, its gun mantlet on the turret can still bounce shots.
• Introduces the trend of American Tank Destroyers having turrets unlike the Tank Destroyers of other nations.

WoT Blitz Best American Tier 5 Tanks

In tier 5 you will be introduced to a famous American Tank line that leads to the Tier X M48 Patton, the Sherman Tank! This tier is also home to a very powerful heavy tank.

Best Tier 5 Tank: T1 Heavy

T1 Heavy Tank. Emphasizes the heavy armor in heavy tanks.

• A great tank for beginners as it has a very good combination of above-average frontal armor and a good gun.
• The T1 Heavy’s gun has good shell penetration, average hit point damage, and great gun depression. Good gun depression means you can shoot at enemies from hills and ridges without having to expose the entirety of your tank and in the ideal situation only the turret will be exposed. 
• Despite being heavily armored, the T1 heavy is no snail. It can go up to 34 KM/H thanks to its tier VII engine. It also has good traverse speed, meaning you can turn the tank in a fairly fast manner.

Second Best Tier 5 Tank: M4 Sherman

The Iconic M4 Sherman medium tank in World of Tanks Blitz

• The M4 Sherman has the same gun as the T1 heavy, meaning it also has good shell penetration and average hit point damage but with a bonus of having even more gun depression at 12 degrees. The added gun depression is great since the M4 does not have the best hull armor but has decent turret armor.
• The M4 is very mobile despite its size and can easily position, reposition and flank enemies. 

WoT Blitz Best American Tier 6 Tanks

Tier 6 is where you will be introduced and put against some of the best tanks and players in the game so it is crucial you know which tanks are the best in this situation and whether you will be having a bad time grinding the tank line you want.

Best Tier 6 Tank: Hellcat

The cat that deals that from hell. The Hellcat tank destroyer

• The Hellcat is a unique and versatile Tank Destroyer that is more like a medium tank disguised as a tank destroyer because of its speed and turret.
• The Hellcat can dish out a lot of damage thanks to its great gun that has great shell penetration, damage, and reload speed.
• It has great concealment, meaning you can dish damage without being seen 
• Like many American tanks, the Hellcat also has a great gun depression at 10 degrees.
• The Hellcat is a very fast tank destroyer that can put other mediums a run for their money with its 65 km/h top speed

Second Best Tier 6 Tank: M6

The heavily armored M6 Heavy Tank 

• The M6 is a strong heavy tank that continues the trend of being very beginner-friendly and this is especially true if you enjoyed playing the T1 heavy
• The M6 has very strong front armor, opponents that will not properly aim at your weak spots will have a hard time damaging you.
• While the M6 does not have the best gun, the firepower, shell penetration, and accuracy are all still good and can make enemies regret exchanging fire with you.
• The M6 shares the same top gun engine as the T1 Heavy and is surprisingly slightly more mobile than the T1 Heavy.

WoT Blitz Best American Tier 7 Tanks

Tier 7 in WoT Blitz is known as a broken tier due to the sheer amount of tanks, both premium and from the tech tree. This is also the tier grinding hits a difficulty spike because of the amount of experience needed not only to get the next tank but also to upgrade your current tier 7. Luckily the American Tank line has some fantastic tanks in tier 7. 

Best Tier 7 Tank: T29

The fantastic T29 with its massive turret

• The T29 is known for its nearly impenetrable turret, great gun, and surprising mobility.
• The T29 has a great gun that has no shortage of shell penetration, good reload speed, and great hit point damage.
• You can lower the T29’s gun ten degrees and by now you know what that means. Hills and ridges are your friends and your opponent's enemies.
• By utilizing hills ridges, and terrain to hide the lower part of your tank, you can make the T29 an impenetrable monster on the front line.
• Despite the look and armor of the T29, it is still very mobile for a heavy tank. It can go up to 35 KM/H forward

Second Best Tier 7 Tank: T25 AT

T25 AT

• The T25 AT is known for its big caliber gun that can dish out a huge amount of damage in a relatively short period because of its good damage per minute
• The gun of the T25 AT is precise, allowing you to snipe for weak spots from a distance, although you may not need to aim too much for weak spots unless you are against tier 8 opponents because of the gun’s high penetration values. 
• Because its armor is sloped, the T25 AT can also bounce shots.

WoT Blitz Best Tier 8 Tanks

Tier 8 is home to some of the best tanks in the game and two of them can be found in the American Tank Line. Both are behemoths that can deal and take damage for your team!

Best Tier 8 Tank: M-III-Yoh

Formidable M-III-Yoh 

• The M-III-Yoh is a unique heavy tank that can deal a large amount of damage within a very small time frame.
• Its top gun is an autoloader that has 2 shells. This means that you can fire 2 shells in quick succession before having to reload. This will allow you to inflict more than 600 damage in less than six seconds.
• The M-III-Yoh has a very strong turret that can easily bounce shots. Find some cover to hide the lower part of your tank and watch your enemy's frustrations grow as bounce shell after shell.
• Although the gun depression of this tank is not on par with other American tanks, it is still respectable at 8 degrees. This will still allow you to use hills and ridges to your advantage.
• It leads to the best Tier IX American Tank!

Second Best Tier VIII Tank: T32

T32 Heavy Tank

• A great combination of turret armor, mobility, and buffs to its gun has made the T32 a worthy tier 8 heavy tank!
• If you liked the T29 because of its turret armor and hull down playstyle then you will not be disappointed. The T32 continues the strengths of the T29 along with better mobility.
• The weakness of T32 having less than 200 shell penetration is now a thing of the past and you can even further buff the shell penetration with equipment!

WoT Blitz Best Tier 9 Tanks 

You are very near the finish line, just one more tier away and a Tier X tank is yours. However, this does not mean that playing tier IX should not be an enjoyable experience especially when there are strong Tier IX tanks.

Best Tier IX Tank: M-V-Yoh

The Slender M-V-Yoh

• The M-V-Yoh is a unique-looking tank that can be a joy to drive. It is one of the best performing tanks in the whole game.
• Its unique slender-looking turret and overall slim profile are an advantage, opponents can have a much harder time landing their shots at you!
• You will have a choice between two great auto-loading guns that have their strengths and weaknesses. 
• This tank also has a unique feature, emergency tracks. This feature allows you to reverse your tank despite having a critically damaged track

Second Best Tier IX Tank: T92E1

Now you see it, now you don't. T92E1 Light Tank

• A very fun tank that combines an unlikely combination of a large caliber gun on a fast and nimble tank.
• The 152mm top gun can deal 560 average damage on a single shot. It also has more than enough shell penetration and is on par with the shell penetration of other tier IX tanks especially those in the light and medium class.
• The T92E1 is very fast, allowing you to reach a top of 65km/H!
• Your opponents will have a hard time hitting if they don’t aim properly since the T92EI is a very small target 

WoT Blitz Best Tier 10 Tanks

This tier is home to two formidable auto-loading heavy tanks of the American Tank Line that is the bane of opposing teams. 

Best Tier X Tank: M-VI-Yoh

The feared M-VI-Yoh

• The M-VI-Yoh is feared because of its gun that can deal 900 hit point damage in a very short period. This is like having a death star gun on a heavy tank that has good armor
• Speaking of armor, the M-VI-Yoh has great frontal armor both on the turret and the hull. Even when your opponents use premium ammunition they will have a hard time damaging you. The weak spots on the turret are small and hard to hit especially if you move and wiggle your turret around.
• It has decent mobility
• The gun is reasonably precise despite the damage it can do with good aiming time and dispersion.

Second Best Tier X Tank: T57 Heavy

The dashing and mobile T57 Heavy

• Has one of the guns on all tank classes in the game. You can deal up to 1200 average hit point damage in just around 5 seconds thanks to its 3 shot autoloader that can deal 400 hit point damage per shot. The gun is also one of the most accurate guns on any Tier X heavy tank
• It has ridiculously strong upper frontal armor. If your opponents just auto-aim they would be having a hard time damaging you since 450mm of armor is not easy to cut through
