WHOOSH
Another article to write today, folks. I’ll be torturing you with yet another article about games taking place in distant, cold, alien, and perhaps hostile space. So buckle up, sweethearts, let’s go on a voyage across the galaxies and slay some aliens. Or maybe befriend them or something!
15. STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™

I think this is the 1394th game about Star Wars. So many of those were released that I’ve lost track years ago. Although I’m not a huge fan of this genre(it became a bit recycled, boring), this game has pretty fun gameplay - it’s fast-paced and relatively a long game. If you like lightsabers, dodging stuff like a ballerina, then this game is for you.
14. The Outer Worlds

A pretty good RPG with plenty of stuff to explore. Set your own colonies on countless, diverse planets and make friends or enemies on the way. The actions that you take in this game might contribute positively or negatively to your storyline. The game’s combat is fun, graphics-wise, the game is gorgeous and replayability is guaranteed!
13. Stellaris

The game’s biggest pro is its awesome exploration - go on a journey where you’ll discover a long list of habitated planets, increase the size of your little space kingdom and do as much harm or good as you possibly can. The game allows you to be a complete A-hole everywhere you go. Hooray!
12. No Man's Sky

I think this game has been included at least a trillion times in my previous articles, but the game is just simply too good to not include - one of the greatest features in this game are its countless planets that you can visit. Everything is randomly generated, both the land and alien creatures. The game also got its own storyline and ending after a while, so you don’t have to suffer an existential crisis while playing this game!
11. ASTRONEER

In this lovely game, you’ll go on a journey either alone or with your buddies, discover new planets and their diverse environments. The game lets you customize the terrain of planets, visit their caves and set up bases. Awesome crafting system and vehicles which will allow you to travel further and faster is the icing on the cake!
10. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Haven’t played this one, but just by the looks of it, the graphics look awesome, the gameplay itself appears to be chaotic at times and fast-paced(it has literally MARVEL in its name…). The game also has a 3-person co-op to play with your friends. If you are a fan of Guardians of Galaxy, then this is most definitely for you - try it out!
9. Oxygen Not Included

A 2D game about building space colonies and surviving. Master the art of survival, to eventually live in luxury and prosperity, not like some animal. Resource gathering and proper management of them is a skill that you must learn. The game might also teach you something about thermodynamics, aka stuff that will either keep you warm or freeze you to death. The game is unique and relatively cheap on Steam - get it!
8. SPORE

A game where you’ll start as a microorganism and slowly evolve into a majestic creature - or perhaps the most disgusting, disturbing and hideous creature out there - the game has fascinating customization settings that will allow you to create an awesome-looking creature. Gather DNA points and upgrade your creation, boost its stats and become a herbivore or an omnivore, exterminate or befriend other tribes and have plenty of fun in this awesome game!
7. Avorion

Upgrade your ships with a long list of Sci-Fi weaponry, declare wars on others or participate in more peaceful activities, such as breaking down asteroids for materials or trading. The game has incredibly epic combat that can take place between multiple ships, sometimes this might be necessary in order to maintain your intergalactic kingdom. The game is gorgeous and incredibly fun to play - try it, won’t regret it!
6. Empyrion - Galactic Survival

The name describes this game pretty well - you’ll be in charge of your own little empire, colonize other planets and set up your colonies on planets with diverse environs. It’s a sandbox game, you don’t have to worry about being forced to go somewhere where you don’t want to. Fight off alien creatures, travel in space, and dance with other aliens…
5. Duskers

One of the hardest games to play, dying once in here means game over. And when I say game over, you start from scratch all over again - some people might like this idea, some not, but the game is very unique from all the other previously mentioned games.
The game is about finding resources, discovering galaxies and spaceships via drones - the only piece of tech that lets you discover stuff. Another unique game with severe consequences if you fail!
4. Star Citizen

Explore, gather resources ‘n’ stuff, and all that other yadi-yada that was mentioned in previous games. The thing that this game differentiates itself from other space games, is its awesome combat system and controls. It takes a long time to master flying in this game, but with time you’ll get a hang of it and engage in combat with other players. It’s a fun game with a very large world - you’ll enjoy it!
3. Rebel Galaxy

You ever wanted to become a space pirate? In Rebel Galaxy, your dreams might come true - the game has to offer one of the most fast-paced combat, trading, and resource gathering. Discover countless new locations and planets, wage war, or be diplomatic with other space dwellers. The game lets you do anything that you want and it’s a guaranteed adventure!
2. Star Valor

Discover new galaxies, fight off potential threats or find yourself some allies, expand your empire by trading, mining asteroids for resources, conquering others. This game is progressive, you’ll start from nothing and grow, eventually becoming more and more powerful as you slowly begin to understand the mechanics of Star Valor!
1. Moons of Madness

Nowadays, I rarely see Lovecraftian horror games and this game most likely deserves the first spot for its incredible, unique gameplay and unsettling atmosphere. This game will let you know that human curiosity is one of the most dangerous things in this world.
The story of this game is intriguing, dialogues are top-notch and won’t bore you to death. This game will question your sanity, making it unclear what’s real and fictional. Go on a lonely journey filled with terrifying visions and a low chance of survival - good luck.
