10. The Python Revolver

This is a ranged weapon that uses pistol bullets, it's recommended to get this earlier as possible because it's a must-have if you want to go further in the game. It's not that expensive and it's a good weapon that can provide you a great start.

9. The M92 Pistol

This gun is a great alternative to the python revolver, but the biggest problem is that it's impossible to craft. You can only get it from airdrops, attack helicopters and scientist boxes, or you can purchase it for 250 scrap from the Bandit camp.

8. The Thompson

This is a submachine gun that uses pistol bullets. It was one of the fastest weapons in the game, it can be an annoying weapon. It's not that expensive, but there are better alternatives that require more materials.

7. The Semi-Automatic Rifle

6. The MP5A4

This is a great alternative to the Thompson, it has slower firing speed but it's more accurate and it deals more damage, it also uses pistol ammo and even though it's a military grade weapon, it can be crafted, with the workbench level 3.

5. The SPAS-12 Shotgun

A military grade shotgun that can't be crafted. You should definitely put incendiary shells in it, it's one of the best combos in the game. You can't craft it but you can repair it at a repair bench for 7 high quality metal. You can find it in an NPC camp or a crate.

4. The LR-300 Assault Rifle

3. The Bolt Action Rifle

This is one of the best rifles in the game, a roof campers best friend. You've probably been killed by this weapon more than a dozen of times. It's a must have in late-game and it's very hard to obtain. It uses rifle ammo and acts like a sniper.

2. M249

This is a very tough machine gun that uses rifle ammo. It's a great weapon but you have to use it from a distance since it's very heavy and slow, but once it's started it's literally unstoppable.  It can be crafted by looting the Attack Helicopter and the Bradley APC.

1. The Assault Rifle

This is the best weapon in the game. This assault rifle is mostly referred to as an AK, since it really looks like a one. It's a great late-game weapon that is certainly very hard to get and craft. It's excellent for raids and day-to-day combat, also it's good for roof camping. A great weapon overall that made it to the number one spot.
