10. Man-Serpent Greatsword

A weapon half the size of a man should easily be able to cut one down to that size, no?

I know what you’re thinking: Why is this guy putting a regular weapon up here, instead of a legendary weapon? The reason is simple, a lot of players want to know the best weapons they can get for the least trouble.

The Man-Serpent Greatsword is just that. You can get it at Sen’s Fortress by killing a Man-Serpent. As most of the enemies there are Man-Serpents, that shouldn’t be hard.

The benefits of having this weapon include:

• It can be held with one hand if you have the Strength.
• You can get it from an enemy, instead of from a special boss soul.
• This weapon provides the best balance of speed, strength, and durability of any normal (not needing a special soul) weapon.
• You don’t need a special Titanite to upgrade it. Just get regular Titanites or Titanite Slabs and you’ll have a fully upgraded Man-Serpent Greatsword.

Personally, I put lightning on mine and always default to it. I killed Gwyn and almost every boss with it.

9. Pyromancy Flame (Upgraded)

This power could quickly become too hot to handle for your enemies.

What can I say? I like burning things. If you like burning things too, turn all your enemies to ash with this flame. This is the highest level Pyromancy Flame you can get.

If ever you want to keep your enemies at bay, throw fire at them. The best part is, you don’t need high Intelligence or Faith to cast devastating fire at people. You just need to pay souls to upgrade it. How is that different than leveling up your Faith? Because leveling up your character make leveling up later more difficult. Do this instead.

8. Darkmoon Talisman

Something this small should not have so much power.

Apparently, this is the best Talisman in the game. For those of you who hoped I’d keep mentioning “easy to get” items, I’m sorry.

Anyway, this offers the highest scaling on Miracles and the highest scaling on your faith. Only thing: it takes some work in the Darkmoon covenant to get. But I’m sure you’ll find it well worth the effort.

To join the Darkmoon Covenant, find Gwyndolin in Anor Londo. Then, sacrifice to him Souvenir of Reprisals by invading and killing players who have “sinned.” Give him 10, and you have a shiny new talisman.

7. Izalith Catalyst

Now we just need a wizard's hat to go with that staff.

After researching enough catalysts, I’ve determined this one as the best. It scales well with Intelligence, making it great for sorceries. I would have chosen the catalysts with the best magic stats, but those cut your spell-casting amounts in half. Therefore, I found the one with the best magic, the best scaling, and doesn’t add such a risk.

6. Golem Axe

The Golem Axe is big enough to chop anything to pieces, perhaps even a golem.

The Golem Axe is a fun weapon that creates a shockwave with its strong attack. This shockwave deals physical damage and knocks down opponents.

Best part: one-handed weapon.

Therefore, it has an average speed, which isn’t too shabby for a heavy weapon. (Some think it’s the most powerful axe in the game.)

5. Darksword

Sometimes a simple sword can do the trick.

What can’t you do with a straight sword?

You’ve got quick swings, you can cut off tails, plus you can hold them without much strength. And the Darksword gives you a lot of power with all those benefits.

Give it Lightning or Chaos attributes to get power like the Obsidian Greatsword. Also, this scales with other stats, like most weapons.

4. Lifehunt Scythe

This scythe could even put fear into the grim reaper's heart.

Put the fear of death into your enemies. With Priscilla’s Scythe, your attacks will cause a bleed effect. Meaning: a few hits, and your opponent’s life will be chopped off.

If you’re fine with the slower movements, use this scythe to get around shields, but beware: another player who has this is very skilled and very deadly. To get this weapon, you must find Priscilla in the Painted World of Ariamis. Then, after you kill her, use her soul to upgrade a +10 Scythe.

3. Greatsword of Artorias (cursed)

Cursed or not, this sword is strong and can cleave through any foe.

Stupid ghosts, why won’t they just die? This cursed weapon will cut through normal enemy and ghost alike, and it will deal excellent damage!

The only downside: you have to kill a doggie. But what is that to an abyss-walker like yourself. Now go and send some ghosts to their grave, and be glad you won’t need a Transient Curse.

The ability to stun any enemy is even more useful than one would think.

You haven’t had enough of greatswords? Good. Beware the Obsidian Greatsword, because it’s as powerful as it is odd-looking. The ability to stun enemies is interesting and it even works on bosses. Makes sense, as you need to kill a dragon to get it.

How To Get Obsidian Greatsword:
