As far as powerful characters are concerned, AoT offers a huge range. Most of them are the titans, including; the regular titans, abnormal titans and the nine shifters. 

Each of the nine titans have a unique skill set. However, their abilities vary from one another and this is what makes this concept incredibly interesting. 

While titans are strong creatures - not all of them have the same level of “power”. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the top ten titans ranked from the weakest to the strongest. 

10. Normal/Regular/PureTitans 

Well, this scene holds a special place in every AoT fan’s heart. As Eren touches the titan who ate his mother, he is able to manipulate all the other titans into attacking her. Not only do they attack, but they tear that titan to shreds. 

Eren manages to take a small chunk of his revenge this way, and our hearts fill with warmth. This scene is an excellent interpretation of the regular titans who  represent the majority of titans in this spectacular series. 

These regular titans are introduced in season 1, the battle of Trost district, when the Armored and Colossal Titan destroy Wall Maria. 

Since pure titans aren’t intelligent, they can be easily killed by slashing the nape of their necks. Throughout the anime, their main goal is to devour humans. However, if they consume one of the nine shifters, the pure titan gains the powers of that particular shifter titan. 

9. Cart Titan 

Pieck Finger is the proud user of the most resilient Titan. 

She can stay in her titan form for months unlike the other nine shifters, which makes it ideal for many purposes. So, when anything needs to be hauled or any rough terrain to be crossed - we know that it’s a cup of tea for the Cart Titan. 

However it is relatively fragile compared to the other titans. Moreover, in one-on-one combat, it has no distinct attack strengths.

Despite being the least powerful, in this scene, you can see that the Cart Titan does a commendable job holding up against the Survey Corps.All thanks to Pieck Finger for being simply amazing. 

8. Jaw Titan 

AoT fans vividly remember when Jaw Titan made its first appearance via Ymir. Let's just say it wasn't everyone's favorite Titan, but Porco made us fall in love with it. 

The Jaw Titan is popular for its agility. Because of its small size it can quickly move around, jumping from one tree to another. Moreover, it has incredibly strong teeth and claws that allow the Jaw Titan to injure its enemy, and rip apart almost anything. 

But once the Jaw Titan is pinned, it's game over for him. In this scene, you can see how quick and precise his attacks are, but they are no match for Eren's, aka the Attack Titan's strength. 

7. Beast Titan 

As monstrous and fearful as it looked, Beast Titan wasn't precisely cut out for "fighting." 

With the help of his lethal ability, aka throwing, the Beast Titan can break boulders and fling them with remarkable accuracy, decimating opposing forces immediately. Moreover, Zeke's intelligence and royal blood also help to maximize the Beast's potential.

However, when he is forced into a one-on-one situation, there's only so much the Beast Titan can do. 

For instance, in this scene, Levi, a human, literally destroys him in only a few seconds. If it weren't for Pieck, the Beast wouldn't have been able to survive. 

6. Female Titan 

Female Titan holds a special place in AoT fans' hearts for various reasons. For me, it would be her splendid combat skills and attitude. 

We are introduced to Annie Leonhart, the Female Titan in The 57th Exterior Scouting Mission Arc, when she goes up against the Survey Corps. 

Throughout the arc, we witness the Female Titan's incredible fighting skills and remarkable endurance. Moreover, the female Titan's scream can attract other titans toward her. But it doesn't work very effectively, and she quickly loses control over them. 

She also possesses hardening abilities like the Warhammer and Attack Titan. Still, she isn't able to break free from it whenever she wants.

However, quite opposite to the popular belief,, the Female Titan isn't as powerful when compared with the others. It’s because of Annie’s capabilities that the Female Titan is incredibly powerful. All these factors limit the Female Titan in many areas, but she still was the star of season 1, that's for sure! 

5. Attack Titan 

Let's agree that we love Attack Titan because of Eren. It wouldn't be wrong to label it as a male counterpart of the female Titan. However, in terms of strength, the Attack Titan is undoubtedly ahead of the Female Titan. 

But strength isn't really Attack Titan's main area. Eren utilized the Attack Titan's abilities to not only view his predecessor's memories but also to see into the future. These powers served as a great help to Eren in his plan of destroying the world that denied him his freedom. 

Nevertheless, as Eren improves his fighting skills, we come across  the Attack Titan's true potential.

When Eren goes up against the Armored Titan in season 4, we can see him taking on two titans simultaneously, but he still makes it through. 

4. Colossal Titan 

When it comes to sheer damage potential, the Colossal Titan reigns supreme.

Not only is he the biggest, at least on average, but his metamorphosis alone is powerful enough to blow out a small town.

He can also emit large gushes of vapor at the expense of its flesh, which serves as both a protection and an attack ability.

In this scene, when Armin transforms into the Colossal Titan for the first time, we can see how massive it is. And not only that, but the way it blows up everything around him shows that he doesn't need to do much when it comes to destruction. 

However, Colossal Titan has a drawback due to its massive size. It cannot move as freely as the other titans. But it doesn't really matter because it is one of Attack on Titan's most formidable titans.

3. Warhammer Titan

Even though the Warhammer Titan had minimal screen time, she was a Queen! 

The Warhammer Titan can construct and manipulate any building with hardened Titan flesh. These structures have the potential to be weaponized; creating spikes large enough to pierce a Titan, a trademark hammer, and a crossbow.

It's also the only titan form that can be remotely controlled as long as the user is connected to the body via the hardened substance.

Eren vs. Warhammer Titan was  truly a delight to watch. With Eren's full potential and the Warhammer Titan conjuring all kinds of weapons - this has to be one of my favorite fight scenes from AoT. 

The Warhammer Titan is mighty. But, if the conflict lasts more than a few seconds, the attacker will eventually figure out where the user is. When that happens, they can either crush it (thanks to the Jaw Titan) or detach it from the body.

2. Armored Titan 

Reiner's Armored Titan has the most robust physical strength because his skin protects  him. His first appearance, when he breaks down the Wall Maria, shows how powerful he is. 

Reiner is more challenging to hurt than the other Nine Titans since he acts as his own shield. 

It also serves as a weapon, allowing the Armored Titan to slam into other titans and infrastructure. His armor is incredibly exceptional, which can be proven by the fact that only thunder spears were able to break it down to expose his neck. 

While this Titan looks like a full-packed powerhouse, his armor has a tiny disadvantage in that it slows him down.

1. Founding Titan 

Last but definitely not the least, the Founding Titan. All the nine shifters and the other titans (normal or abnormal) came from Ymir Fritz, who is the first user of the Founding Titan. Because of this, the Founding Titan is hands down the most powerful of all. 

Only the royal blood can unleash the full potential of the Founding Titan, and this is the only criterion the user must fulfill. 

Once this is achieved, the Founding Titan literally doesn't need to get its hands dirty. Why? Well, because it can mind control every Titan or turn Eldians into titans with just one scream. 

So, when it comes to "power," - no one can beat the Founding Titan.
