Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition Launch Trailer

This remake of Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn takes place in The Forgotten Realms and is a D&D Campaign in 3D. Baldur’s Gate 2 takes place after the ending of Baldur’s Gate 1, where the hero learns that Faerûn is in danger from the shadows seeping into the land.

Starting inside of a prison cell (a feature that’s becoming commonplace in a lot of these dungeon crawling games), the player character is soon freed only for their journey to continue to unravel the evil plot inside of the insidious shadows. This game feels reminiscent of the D&D era from the gameplay elements like character creation to the plot and storyline. If you like the old school feeling of going through a campaign with a Dungeon Master, then this will satisfy the need for both a set plot and predetermined storylines. If you’re new to the game, then perhaps consider playing Baldur’s Gate 1 first, so that you’re not entirely lost as to what’s happening in the plot.

There are four new party members and plenty of dungeons to loot in Baldur’s Gate 2, making it easy to navigate the dark dungeons while still having fun. This is as old school as old school gets, so if you’re a seasoned dungeon crawler looking for a unique challenge, this may be just right for you.

Time-based combat ensures that you keep on your feet in Baldur’s Gate 2.

This city is protected from the reach of the nefarious Shadows … for now.
