[Top 10] PUBG Best Sanhok Drop Locations

Want some action on a tropical island full of passionate PUBG players? Get ready to drop on one of the most popular maps of PUBG; Sanhok. This guide will help you to find a decent spot for your endeavor.

Introduction

Sanhok is the third map which has been introduced to PUBG. It quickly became one of the most liked maps, as it was smaller than the previous ones.

The core idea of Sanhok is that, due to the small size and jungle-like style, players bump into each other more frequently. This allows for an action-packed game, where other players can sit behind every stone, in every bush. The rivers dividing the three islands are like a bottleneck, making it hard to cross between the islands.

The map underwent a major change, to an extent where you couldn't say it was the same as before. The rivers were replaced by dried out river-beds and the landscape in general changed drastically. Luckily, the changes were reversed, bringing back the original version of Sanhok, which you can play today.

Unfortunately, loot trucks were removed as well. These were military trucks containing level 3 gear and weapons, which were moving randomly across the map. Once you managed to blow up one of the trucks, you could find the best loot, even though it attracted players nearby.

However, Sanhok remains a favorite map for many players, due to the action-filled gameplay.

Drop Locations

On this map, you find red and orange circles. The red circles stand for a high probability to face other players, as they are famous locations, as well as hot drops. Orange circles are less likely to take you into an early battle.

Be aware that most of the orange circles are not suited for four-player squads, as there won’t be enough loot. As a solo player or in duos, these places are ideal.

10. Mongnai

Far off the beaten track, you might want to check out Mongnai, which lies in the northeast of Sanhok. Here you find plenty of small compounds, with few other players in the vicinity. Even though the circle rarely enables you to stay in the area, you can move along the coast in either direction to get into the next zone. You will find many places to keep looting.

What makes Mongnai great:

  • Usually there are barely any other players in the area, so you can gear up in peace.
  • If you wish, you can pick early fights when there are players close.

9. Far West

If you are not too keen on an early skirmish, you can land anywhere around the coast of the northwestern island. You can avoid the camp and loot one of the many little compounds in that particular area.

You can always decide to engage in fights or not, you might as well try to approach anyone leaving the camp. Anyways, landing here gives you more safety in the beginning, as there are not too many players in that area.

What makes the Far West great:

  • You have control over your game, as there are many places to drop and few players around.
  • If you are lucky that the circle moves towards your area, you have plenty of great positions to intercept incoming players or teams, especially towards the south of the island.

8. North

This is an elevated position, which in itself is a proper tactical spot. It's relatively easy to maintain control over it, and you have a great view on the river towards the south, which divides the main island, and the northwestern island.

However, its tactical advantage is useless in the beginning when you gather resources. For mid- to endgame the tactical advantage of that position plays out well.

This place doesn't provide sufficient loot for squads, but for solo and duo.

What makes the North great:

  • Elevated position with a great view, great tactical advantage.

7. Hangars on the Hill

Here you find only three Hangars and one residential building. However, in solo or duo this might help you to gear up the basics. You can take it from there. Either you head towards the camp in the northeast to pick a fight, or you head west to Bhan. This is a concealed place where you also find plenty of loot and barely any players.

What makes Hangars on the Hill great:

  • Three hangars, which usually have better loot, and are easy to loot.
  • It's central, so you can go in any direction.

6. Tambang

This place is for anyone who likes to avoid early encounters. Located on the western coast of Sanhok, Tambang may seem small, but it usually has enough loot for a decent gear-up. Tambang is elevated in respect to the cluster of buildings just north of Tambang, which are also close to the ruins. This is a logical route to continue once you finish initial looting.

What makes Tambang great:

  • Great spot to start looting and continue north.
  • Suited for players who like to avoid hot drops.

5. Quarry

The area around the quarry is an interesting place to spend your first minutes of a match. It lies relatively central, so in most cases you are within the first two circles, at least. But the most intriguing part is the natural design of the actual quarry.

The inside of the quarry, the bottom where all of the loot is, is surrounded by high plateaus, trapping anyone who loots inside. The loot inside is always great, so it's worth supplying yourself there. But it's equally great once you find a team looting in the quarry, which gives you a great opportunity for an ambush.

However, it's recommended to drop by the hangars first, gear up, and head towards the edge of the quarry. If there is no team around, loot is yours.

What makes the Quarry great:

  • Central position on the map, no pressure to move any time early.
  • Lots of loot, alternative buildings, and choice to engage in fights or not.

4. Pai Nan

Pai Nan is a little town, divided by one of the three rivers, which  lead into a bottleneck area in the western part of the map. You won't find any locals here, but an abundance of loot, and many times temporary visitors.

The town is located close to one of the three major bridges, connecting the main island and the island on the southwest. Bridges are always a strategic position to ambush teams trying to get over to the other side.

What makes Pai Nan great:

  • Many buildings, with lots of loot, even for squads.
  • It's situated close to one of the major bridges, giving you flexibility early on.

3. Camp Alpha, Bravo and Charlie

Scattered around the map, these places are precursors to the one and only bootcamp in the center. They are smaller versions, yet big enough to offer loot for entire squads.

Even though the camps are not as crowded as the boot camp, you mostly won't drop on your own. This is why you can consider them hot drops.

What makes the Camps great:

  • There are three camps in total, so however the flight path will be, you always reach one of the camps.
  • You find enough loot to gear up an entire squad.

2. Paradise Resort

Who wouldn't fancy a comfortable luxury hotel on a tropical island? Well, this one is surely different. Let's put it this way; the personnel you will meet there is quite unforgiving.

Being a major map in the team deathmatch mode, the Paradise Resort features narrow aisles, small hotel rooms, and a slightly bigger center square with a huge elephant statue.

It's perfectly suited for close-quarters combat, which you can also practice in team deathmatch. The resort is nearly always occupied, so get ready for the battle over the lounge chairs.

What makes the Paradise Resort great:

  • Central spot with plenty of loot.
  • Always busy if you like to battle.

1. Bootcamp

The bootcamp is the ultimate hot drop location on the map. It lies in the very center and offers many structures to find loot and cover. This is the place to be if you are looking for action. It's the equivalent to Erangel's school, Miramar's Hacienda, or Vikendi's train station.

It literally is a boot camp for anyone keen on gathering combat experience. For most players it is the ticket back to the lobby, there can only be one survivor. If you manage to get out of there alive, you deserve the chicken dinner.

What makes the Bootcamp great:

  • Central spot with lots of buildings.
  • Always busy when you are looking for a fight.

Conclusion

Sanhok is a map which is tailored for fast-paced, action-packed, and proactive gameplay, which means that battle is inevitable. There is room for stealthy gameplay, but this map highlights the need to get comfortable in fighting, to get used to quickly changing battle scenarios. The sooner you get acquainted with a no-fear approach to enemy encounters, the sooner you will have success in the overall game.
