[Top 7] PUBG Best Paramo Drop Locations

Interested in flying a Chinook for a change? Interested in crossing lava-streams for a change? Interested in a change for a change? Get to know the ever-changing map of Paramo, a unique experience in the PUBG world.

Introduction

Paramo is the sixth map Krafton has published. It has a unique size of 3x3 km, slightly bigger than Karakin and slightly smaller than Sanhok. It features a huge volcano, which erupts, luckily far in the distance.

However, be aware of the lava stream flowing across the map. Every now and then, you have to cross it. What happens when you touch lava? Right, it hurts.

It won’t kill you, but it takes away a good chunk of your health bar. This is extremely inconvenient if you run in the blue zone, trying to get to the circle. Just a small hint: any rubber tire touching the surface of the stream is sure to burn.

The topography of the map is mostly hilly, with few trees hindering the farsight. The atmosphere is somewhat similar to Erangel’s style, but with no rivers, apart from the lava stream.

The map is fun to play, action-packed, and the most intriguing aspect: it changes from round to round.

What does it mean? It means that the main drop locations, all four sites, always rotate their position. In one round you find Atahul in the north-west, in another round it will be in the south-east.

Drop Locations

On this map, you find red, orange, and green circles. The red circles stand for a high probability to face other players, as they are famous locations, as well as hot drops. Orange circles are less likely to take you into an early battle. The green circles on this map indicate the four main locations, which will switch position among themselves.

Be aware that most of the orange circles are not suited for four-player squads, as there won’t be enough loot. As a solo player or in duos, these places are ideal.

7. Cluster of Buildings North-East

This rather less busy drop location lies just north of one of the main drop locations. This spot is only suitable for solo or duo, as it won’t provide sufficient loot for squads.

However, from here it is just a grenade’s throw to the site just south. You’ll end up on the hill line between the two locations, which is a perfect spot to overlook the major location and spot possible targets within the area.

If you don’t see anyone, the issue of insufficient loot is effectively resolved.

What makes the Cluster of Buildings North East great:

  • Occasionally, there are players flying to that location, but usually you are on your own.
  • If there are no other teams in the area, you can loot an entire city, or go elsewhere.

6. Labs

The lab is a well-liked drop location. There might be a reason for it. Yes, the lab lies in a high position, which means that you are high when you leave the labs. This might also be due to the fact that there are experimental plants grown in the facility, which might have an elevating effect on you. Aim high.

However, the position itself is proper, and you find enough loot to gear up initially. From here you can take off to conquer the rest of the map. Again, this is a well-liked position, so be prepared to share some of the good loot you find there.

What makes the Labs great:

  • It’s a fixed location, which means that it doesn’t shuffle around as the other drop locations.
  • It’s an exciting place, you definitely have to check it out for once.

5. Cluster of Buildings Center

Right in the center of the map, you find a cluster of buildings which are super-attracting to players, though no one knows why. There is nothing special about this place, despite its central location. Here you always face other players, sometimes up to four teams in duo. So if you are looking for an underdog hotspot – there you go.

What makes the Cluster of Buildings Center great:

  • The location is in the very center of Paramo, you most likely are within the first few circles, or at least very close.
  • It’s always busy if you are looking for some action.

4. Helipad

You won’t find any helicopters here, but it is one of the four random main locations. The helipad is the least favorable location of the main ones, as it is very open. This means that outsiders can easily spot you within the area, with less proper cover. Especially in situations where hills surround the drop location.

However, you still find loot here, and probably fewer players, so you still can gear up, but it is not recommended to go there at all.

What makes the Helipad great:

  • It is one of the main drop locations, so you find more loot than in other places.
  • If you try to avoid other teams, you might fly there instead of the other main drop locations.

3. Makalpa

Makalpa is another one of the four rotating main drop sites. As you can see on the image, there are plenty of houses within the vicinity. So it is a great location for you and your squad, as you will find enough loot to outfit everybody in your team.

If you are a solo or duo player, it is also helpful to land in that spot, as you will always have time to loot first, then decide what to do. If you feel comfortable fighting early on in an urban scenario, you can do that. Or you leg it.

What makes Makalpa great:

  • It's a huge loot location, where you can gear up entire squads.
  • It is also big enough to house several smaller teams in the initial phase of the game.

2. Capaco

Capaco is also one of the four main locations, with this place featuring minor ancient ruins, with many pavilions encompassing the ruins. It looks like a giant archaeological excavation site, featuring one taller temple, and some smaller stone structures from Mayan times.

Here you typically find lots of loot, enough for an entire squad. As opposed to the helipad, you find some proper cover within the boundaries of the drop location.

What makes Capaco great:

  • It’s a huge place, where you can find anything you need.

1. Atahul

This is the last main drop location, and the most compelling one. It’s a massive ancient ruin, with a huge temple, the biggest you can find on the map. There is an abundance of loot and cover, which makes the place an ideal destination for squad play.

What makes Atahul great:

  • Sufficient loot for more than one squad, good to defend as well, thanks to the many stony structures.

Conclusion

Paramo is one of the younger maps in PUBG, and experimental as well. It’s a great map to experience fast-paced, action-packed gameplay with few trees in the way of sight.

The ever-changing nature of the map will deprive even the most experienced player of any routine gameplay, which makes it a fresh experience each time you start a new round.

With this feature, Krafton has truly crafted a unique and creative map design. Have fun!
