[Top 7] PUBG Best Karakin Drop Locations

Splendid weather, clear views, and a lot of action in a short time. What else could you ask for? Check out the best spots to drop at!

Introduction

Karakin is the smallest map in PUBG. With a size of 2x2km, it is a quarter the size of Deston, Taego, Erangel, Miramar and Vikendi. This is why only 64 players compete for the chicken dinner. It also doesn’t come as a surprise that you won’t find any vehicles, except for the bicycle.

The terrain is relatively open, as there are no trees to obscure the view, but many rock formations across the map enable you to find some cover. If you seek cover in one of the buildings, be aware of the black zone.

This is a bombing area exclusive to Karakin, very similar to Erangel’s red zone, which specifically targets buildings. If you’re standing out in the open, you’re safe, but if you are inside a building or right next to it when it comes crashing down, prepare to respawn in the lobby. Yes, you heard right, buildings can be destroyed completely.

Let’s move on to the drop locations.

Drop Locations

On this map, you only find red circles. The red circles stand for a high probability to face other players, as they are famous locations, as well as hot drops. On Karakin however, every drop is kind of a hot drop, as the map size is very small. Especially in solos it will be hard to find a location where nobody else drops.

7. Compound South

This drop location can be seen as an alternative to Al Hayik, which lies east of the location. Here you’ll only find one slightly bigger building. The only downside is that you have to find a sticky bomb, to blow up an entrance to the building.

Ideally, you should land directly on the roof, where loot can be found. Otherwise check the garage besides the major building, or one of the stone yurts just north. There you also find one of the many entrances to the tunnel system.

Again, sticky bombs are necessary to pave your way.

What makes the Compound South great:

  • It’s less likely to meet other players here, as it lies between two hotspots.
  • The place is slightly underrated, as there is access to the tunnels nearby.

6. Compound Center North

This compound lies in an elevated position. There is a great view of Al Habar, where you can easily intercept players being forced out of town. Three buildings lie on top of the small hill. However, you have to find a sticky bomb to enter some of them.

If you are alone, or in duos, you are able to fetch enough gear to get ready for combat. Considering the strategic position of the compound, be aware that most of the time other teams try to obtain dominance over that hill.

What makes the Compound North great:

  • Tactical advantage once you gain control over the position, great barrier towards the north.
  • Usually enough loot, but you need to find a sticky bomb to fully utilize that position.

5. Cargo Ship

Be ready to bring forth the captain. In this corner of the map you always find other players searching the cargo for proper goodies. The ship is full of loot. So if you are looking for a cruise, get ready to remove any blind passengers.

However, there are also few buildings on shore. This enables you to find enough loot to cope for the rest of the round. You know what’s nasty? Wait for other players to loot the ship and catch them off guard at the shore. Effective looting.

What makes the Cargo Ship great:

  • There's plenty of loot scattered across the place, enough for a squad.
  • It’s always busy if you are looking for a fight.

4. Bahr Sahir

The town of Bahr Sahir is located in the northwest of Karakin. The town is stretched out and narrow, so it is like a tunnel, surrounded by a hillside in the south. Unless you are not looting in between two teams, you can choose either end to start looting, even when other teams are present.

This basically is the best technique on Karakin if you are keen on looting a lot. Drop in the bigger towns, find a separate part, separate buildings to loot. This way you have cover and lots of loot. You might have to win one fight in the beginning, but on this map there is no backing off anyways.

What makes Bahr Sahir great:

  • Even though the town is surrounded by hills, once you get out you have a great view of the rest of the map.
  • There is plenty of loot to fit entire squads.

3. Bashara

Bashara is located on the western side of the small island, right next to the coast. Viewed from above, Bashara is divided into three sections.

One section is the three high rises, standing separately overlooking the rest of the place. Another section is the quarter in the west, encompassing 19 buildings. The last quarter is in the south, with 10 structures.

Same strategy as in Bahr Sahir; drop in one of the locations and feel free to loot for a few minutes. Everybody else will be busy looting as well, so this gives you time to gear up.

What makes Bashara great:

  • It’s a big place with enough loot for everybody.

2. Al Habar

Al Habar, the biggest town on Karakin, is located in the northeast. This place offers the most loot out of all places of the map, even for several squads. You will never drop alone, but it is big enough to let you loot unharmed.

There are several ways to get out of there without having to face other teams, unless they are actively looking for you. But most of the time everybody is busy looting until the circle forces everybody out of the city.

What makes Al Habar great:

  • The biggest town on Karakin offers loot for half of all players on the server.
  • It is so vast that you don’t have to battle unless you want to.

1. Underground Tunnels

If the heat becomes unbearable, why not retreat to one of the many underground bunkers on the map? They stretch out like a web under the hilly environment of the desert map. Here you find everything you need.

You can also surprise your opponents once you travel between the many access points. Just follow the gunshot sound on the surface to become an unwanted guest.

The bunkers can only be accessed via sticky bombs. You either blow up the concrete slabs inside of some of the stony yurts, or you just blow open a wall with the octopus sign on it.

Either way, the bunker system is a great addition to the game, enabling many tactical opportunities and loot en masse.

What makes the Underground Tunnels great:

  • Covering most of the map, they enable tactical gameplay.
  • Inside you find enough loot to cope for the rest of the round.

Conclusion

Karakin is one of the maps, where it is useful to carry a SMG with you. Always carry at least one sticky bomb to your advantage. They are useless as a throwable weapon against opponents, but valuable to blow up new paths for you.

Karakin offers a fun, fast-paced experience. With rounds lasting only about 15 minutes - cutting standard play time in half - it's as action-packed as Sanhok, allowing you to have a blast, quite literally.

If only PUBG would introduce more smaller maps, rather than larger ones . Sigh.
