From the depths of the ocean, Krakens are known as giant beings set to terrorize any brave soul that tries to sail the seas. Whether it is a squid or an octopus, no one knows. What we know, however, is that Krakens in MTG Arena are powerful beings that can add a lot of power to any deck. 

5. Tolarian Kraken

What’s good about this card?

  • Tapping or untapping creatures works when you are up against a small group of creatures that can deal a lot of damage
  • Tolarian Kraken can help you deal with those creatures as it can tap or untap any creature for only 1 mana

Value (TCG Median): $0.24

4. Shoal Kraken

What’s good about this card?

  • Shoal Kraken is a good card to have in Enchantment-centered decks
  • Card draw is always a good thing to have in your deck and having that on Shoal Kraken can help you dig deeper into your deck
  • Its high mana cost is the only downside of this card but it is still playable in the right deck

3. Icebreaker Kraken

What’s good about this card?

  • Snow permanents have great synergy among them and Icebreaker Kraken is proof of that
  • Having a lot of Snow permanents will allow you to cast this Kraken for practically free
  • Its ETB effect can also be a good turning point as you can paralyze your opponent’s board and deal massive amounts of damage

2. Gyruda, Doom of Depths

What’s good about this card?

  • The best Kraken in the game, Gyruda is a powerful card with the potential to draw out more value
  • Milling both decks for four and getting a creature from the milled cards is a gamechanger

What’s good about this card?
