10. Support + Combo Mage

The best way to keep your allies alive is to make sure they have a hard time getting hit

With every group of heavy hitters, one or two supports are game-changing in battle.  The Support + Combo Mage build is exactly what it sounds like; with heavy use in frost attacks like winter’s grasp and ice Mine, you set your warriors up for shatter combos to stack up damage, and the offensive Storm spells can paralyze enemies for a second or two. Barrier and Revival are a must-have to keep your allies alive, but with the Desperation upgrade for Revival, they come back with a massive bonus to damage.

9. The Guardian Build

The “Guardian” this build refers to is one who would lay down their life for their allies, so the Templar specialization is a perfect fit. This is more of a support/tank build, with debuffs from Blessed Blades giving your allies more damage against spellcasters and demons and the multiple taunting features from the Vanguard tree keeping enemies off the weaklings.  And when the going gets tough, the Last Sacrifice ability lets you heal your allies and give them a decent damage bonus when after you fall for your team.

8. Dual Wield Daggers Tempest Build

A quick one-two-shatter can take down your enemies in a flash

Dual Wield Rogues are good at quickly dealing out damage, and the Tempest specialization helps them maximize that. With the Flask of Fire upgrade that allows your abilities to have no cooldowns, you can zip around the field spamming your Deathblow and Twin Fangs to down enemies left and right. Flask of Lightening helps slow enemies, so you remain unscathed, but the real star is Flask of Frost. With this ability you swath yourself in ice and freeze the enemies you attack, allowing you to make constant shatter combos that stack the damage even higher.

If you need a build for your front-line bodyguard, this would be it. With the Crusher build, you can destroy the most dangerous enemies on the field, leaving them staggering away while your allies finish them off. A Maul is the best weapon for this build, seeing as it does little AOE damage and with the combination of Mighty Blow and Earthquake you can knock down enemies before they have a chance to blink. You gain good mobility with this build with the Combat Roll and using Grappling Chain can keep the meanest ones hitting you so your friends can attack from the sidelines.

6. Sword and Shield Reaver

With great power comes great sacrifice

Reaver is a tricky specialization to use, as it involves losing health to heal more damage. But with the Sword and Shield weapon choice, you have a bonus to defense that a Two-Handed weapon doesn’t have and managing your health to rain hurt on your enemies becomes less frightening than it looks. Being a Reaver means your goal is to deal as much damage as possible, so the Payback Strike and Shield Bash moves are an essential complement, and the War Cry ability can help build guard so you can stay alive long enough to rip your enemies to shreds.

5. Artificer Archer Build

Artificer is a fun, varied class to play around with, and can give some massive bonuses to skill cooldowns when built correctly. With the Looked Like It Hurt ability, you can regain stamina with every critical hit, so with your rogue, you can soon enough have access to almost unlimited stamina. The Archery weapon choice is essential because it keeps you out of harm’s way while still dealing good damage. Leaping Shot, especially, can hit dozens of times when spammed, and with the Hook and Tackle ability from the Sabotage tree, you can easily zip back to the action and start it all over again.

4. Invisible Pyromancer Build

Stealth and fire; an odd combination that can lead to one of the most vicious damage combos in the Mage class. This is the only build where a special item is necessary, and that is the Ring of Doubt, a ring that keeps you in stealth while not attacking and making the first attack you make out of stealth automatically crit. Mix that with the Immolate spell and its Flashpoint passive and you have massive fire damage doubling every few seconds, then switching back to stealth before using Fire Mine to have it crit as well.

This one isn’t too bad to wrap your head around. A Rogue that keeps its distance, slips in and out of stealth and builds on a specialization that’s centered on critical hits has to be a good move. With the proper skills, you and this build can finish Inquisition with no companions by your side. You become a violent storm of critical hits, racking up damage and then dodging away before anyone has a chance to see you.

This build is the closest you can come to becoming an invincible fighting machine. The Champion Specialization centers on defense and making yourself an immovable wall for your allies to hide behind, and if you only take Vanguard tree abilities the damage you take will be no more than a scratch on the shoulder. You can deal decent damage with this build, as well, and taunting enemies keeps them on you while you chip away, keeping your allies alive longer and watching them easily blast enemies from the side.
