11. Polyjuice Potion
The Polyjuice Potion was brewed in the washroom by Hermoine in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"—so this is an homage to the original films!
Located in the ladies room, you can find the brewing station in the last stall with stacks of books, notes, and a cauldron. It kind of reminds you of a certain character that always carried a book with them, doesn’t it? It’s a nice unexpected Easter egg!
How to find the Polyjuice Potion:
10. Fred & George Weasley Easter Egg
As you explore Hogsmeade, you may encounter a pair of twins with ginger hair and second-hand sweaters—the signature of the Weasley family.
These twins are none other than Fred and George Weasley, as the store they are peeking into will eventually become the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes one hundred years later!

9. Vanishing Cabinet
The Vanishing Cabinet is a pair of objects that act as a doorway to one another; it was used in "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" to sneak the Death Eaters into Hogwarts.
It’s a nice touch to have the cabinet in the Room of Requirement; it’s difficult to spot and easy to miss. This is part of the main questline, but once you miss it, you can’t revisit this room!
How to find the Vanishing Cabinet:
8. Secrets of the Darkest Arts
The Secret of the Darkest Arts is the book that started it all. Voldemort used this book to learn how to make the Horcruxes.
It’s a nice touch to include this Easter egg because the book was always in the library until Dumbledore removed it after he became the Headmaster, so it makes sense that it’s in the library!
How to find the Secret of the Darkest Arts:
7. Slug Vomiting Charm
The slug vomiting charm is one of the most disgusting and iconic spells in Harry Potter, where those hit by the curse will endlessly throw up slugs!
There’s a nice little homage to the curse that can be found in the hospital wing. While not hugely significant plot-wise, it does bring back memories of one of the earlier movies, reminding us of the mysteries of magic—both the magical and disgusting aspects of it!

6. Hagrid’s Hut
One of the first characters you encounter in the world of Harry Potter is Hagrid, the caretaker. Though the game is set 100 years before the story of Harry Potter, you can still find Hagrid’s hut in Hogwarts' Legacy, which is completely replicated in the game!
If you’ve ever wanted to take a close look at the splendor that is Hagrid’s home, look no further because it’s right there!

5. Chamber of Secrets
One of the greatest mysteries in Hogwarts—the chamber of secrets—is actually in Hogwarts Legacy—at least the entrance. It’s unfortunate they didn’t incorporate the Chamber of Secrets and the Basilisk into the game itself, but maybe that’s going to be saved for DLC or a sequel.
Although the entrance serves no functional purpose, it’s still amazing to spot the detail (the small snake) on the faucet. It really shows how closely the developers wanted to replicate the Harry Potter universe in line with what’s been shown in the movies while staying true to the original material.
How to find the Chamber of Secrets:
4. Follow the Butterflies
As a homage to Ron Weasley, who complained about having to "follow the spiders" instead of "follow the butterflies" in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, there’s a questline dedicated to following butterflies to find treasure!
It’s a nice reference to the old movies, and it’s these tiny humorous easter eggs that make Hogwarts Legacy a joy to play!
How to find “Follow the Butterflies”:
3. Wizard Chess
As shown in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Ron rides on a knight chess piece and moves to H-3 to sacrifice himself!
The same scene is replicated in Hogwarts Legacy, and it’s a nice nod to the original movie! Not much happens, but it’s nice to randomly stumble upon these Easter eggs!
How to find Wizards Chess:
2. Deathly Hallows
The Deathly Hallows—the Elder Wand, Stone of Resurrection, and Invisibility Cloak—can be found in the Third Keeper trial. These are all artifacts that Harry Potter used throughout the story. One of the key things to pay attention to here is the resemblance to the way the story of the Deathly Hallows is told in Hogwarts Legacy when compared to the movie.
Similar to the movie "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the history of the three brothers and the artifacts is told in a cartoonish style. Similarly, this sequence is told in a stylish, hand-drawn way, and it’s amazing how much effort the developers make to keep the same feel as the Harry Potter movies!
How to find the Deathly Hallows:
1. Transfiguration Reference
In my opinion, one of the coolest things in Harry Potter is the transfiguration. Being able to transform any living being into an object is probably really cool.
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ron used a broken wand to transform his rat into a goblet, but it didn’t come out perfect. The transformation ended up looking like a furry goblet with a tail, which also happens to be how the transformation spell looks in Hogwarts Legacy! There are also multiple codex mentions within the game, so it would seem like this is probably one of the developer’s favorite Easter eggs.
