“Love, Money, Rock ‘n Roll,’ is a visual novel that romanticizes eighties-themed anime in a story filled with drama and romance.

The story follows the adventures of Nikolai. He is a student in Japan, where he lives with his Soviet immigrant parents. Himitsu is a close childhood friend of Nikolai. The two have been through a lot together, and Himitsu feels they could potentially be more than just friends…

To add to the drama, Catherine, Nikolai’s ex, suddenly returns to Japan after living abroad for more than a year. Despite having parted on bad terms, there is a slight chance that she still has feelings for Nikolai.

For Nikolai, there is no shortage of potential romantic partners at his school. Besides his best friend and his ex, there is also Elle, whose grandparents are the chief trustees of Nikolai’s school; and Kagome, who is the shy, quiet class representative for Nikolai’s class.

Elle has a strong will and carries herself with pride. She is spirited and can be quite a firecracker. However, there is a possibility that her outgoing ways are a subtle way of fighting back against her ‘classy’ background.

Kagome, like many quiet people, is quite hard to read. Her feelings and intentions are unclear so it can be challenging to understand her behavior and actions.

Each of the 4 girls has a unique story, and you will need to make choices as Nikolai that will impact your relationship with each of them. There are multiple endings to the story, and the choices that you make will determine how the story progresses and how your relationship with each of the girls develops.
