20. Dungreed

Dungreed Trailer

At first you might think this game was just another cute farming simulator with pixel graphics, right? Well, appearances are certainly deceiving.

Dungreed focuses on the journey of a young adventurer as he strives to save a town from a randomly generated dungeon system that threatens to engulf all the innocents within. Like most dungeon crawlers, there are no checkpoints in this 2D game, so any time you die, that’s it! However, Dungreed features other options if throwing yourself at its cute but deadly enemies won’t satisfy you.

Besides dungeon crawling, you can also manage and rebuild the town you’re trying to save, collect unique weapons and magical items, and search and search for that very last sniper rifle for your gun collection. Did I mention there were guns, too? There’s a lot to collect and even more to explore in this 2D platformer.

Here we go again! This hero is showing off his long-ranged gun inside of the newly-reconstructed dungeon.

You mean I can have this sword AND that gigantic shield up there? I’m sold!
