Without any further ado, here are the Top 10 Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links Best Decks of 2020!

10. Synchro Connection

Synchro Connection

Synchro Connection is a great starter synchro deck for beginners.

For anyone new to Yu-Gi-Oh! 5d’s, this deck clearly teaches the unique mechanics of synchro summoning; to seasoned players, this deck is full of familiar cards from Yusei Fudo, including Junk Warrior. Synchro Connection gets many monsters on the field quickly, allowing duelists to synchro summon early in the duel.

  • Great for beginning duelists learning to synchro summon, yet with monsters powerful enough to lead any expert to victory.
  • Monsters like Junk Servant can be summoned from the player’s hand for easy synchro summoning.
  • Summon Junk Warrior just like Yusei Fudo!

 How to play this deck:

  • Use with Yusei Fudo’s “Mark of the Dragon – Head” Skill, which adds Junk Synchrons to the deck.
  • Use Speed Warrior wisely: It receives double ATK during its first Battle Phase, so don’t summon him if you go first.
  • Limit Overlord is a trap that summons Speed Warrior from the hand, deck, or graveyard; bring it back as a defense, or use it to synchro summon.
  • Junk Anchor can be used in place of Junk Synchron to summon Junk Warrior.
  • When you need more ATK power, banish any Junk monster from the graveyard to give Junk Blader 400 more ATK.

9. Red-Eyes Black Dragon

Red-Eyes Black Dragon Cards

Love Joey Wheeler? You can play as him, and summon his ace - Red-Eyes Black Dragon!

Who doesn’t love dragons? Especially Joey Wheeler’s Red-Eyes Black Dragon! The Red-Eyes Dragons are designed to sacrifice weaker dragons to special summon the more powerful ones from the deck. This deck also has specific trap and spell cards that bring Red-Eyes back from the graveyard or fuse them into more powerful dragons.

  • When Joey Wheeler summons Red-Eyes Black Dragon, there is a brief summoning animation. Different card versions have different animations.
  • Red-Eye Dragons have summoning effects, summoning themselves to the field or other dragons to replace them upon their destruction. Your field will never be empty of monsters.
  • This deck not only has dragons but warriors as well, giving it a rounded set of monsters to draw from.

How to play this deck:

  • Use with Joey Wheeler’s “Fusionmorph: Red-Eyes” to add more dragons to the deck, or “Red-Eyes Fusion” to bring out powerful monsters when in dire need.
  • Sacrifice Red-Eyes Baby Dragon or The Black Stone of Legend to instantly summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the field.
  • The Red-Eyes Spirit trap card can bring any Red-Eyes monster back from the Graveyard.
  • Red-Eyes Black Dragon can be fused with any warrior monster to create Red-Eyes Slash Dragon.
  • If the opponent manages to destroy Red-Eyes Black Dragon, you can special summon Red-Eyes Retro Dragon from your hand and bring Red-Eyes Black Dragon back from the graveyard.

8. Blazing Roze

Blazing Rose

Play as Akiza and search for her ace monster, Black Rose Dragon.

This plant-based deck would feel familiar to any fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5d’s: it has both Copy Plant and Akiza Izinki’s ace monster, Black Rose Dragon. While this is a Synchro deck, what makes it powerful is how the special abilities of Plant-Type monsters work together.

  • Plant-type monsters have correlating abilities, allowing levels to increase or monsters to be special summoned.
  • Use Akiza Izinski to summon Black Rose Dragon and see it’s beautiful animation!
  • If Black Rose Dragon is destroyed, Blue Rose Dragon can always bring it back, or any Plant-Type monster.

How to play this deck:

  • Use with Akiza Izinski’s “Mark of the Dragon - Foot” skill to add Copy Plant and Black Rose Dragon or her “What Grows in the Graveyard” skill which allows you to start the duel with a Dark Verger in the graveyard.
  • This is also useful with the skill “Level Augmentation,” which allows any monster’s levels to be adjusted to Synchro Summon a monster. Most 5ds characters can attain this skill.
  • Upon destroying any monster, Rose Paladin can be sacrificed from the field to summon any Plant-Type monster, including very powerful, high-leveled ones.
  • Fallen Angel of Roses can be special summoned by returning any Plant-Type monster to the duelist’s hand. With an ATK of 2400, this powerful monster is difficult to defeat.
  • When Black Rose Dragon is summoned, it has the ability to destroy everything on the field - all spell, trap, and monster cards.

7. Absolute Inferno

Absolute Inferno

Become the king of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5d's with the Red Dragon Archfiend!

The ace monster of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5d’s own king, Jack Atlas, the Red Dragon Archfiend is a powerful dragon, ready to take down any opponent. This Archfiend deck has more than power on its side; it uses tuner monsters with low ATK but with impressive abilities.

  • Out of all the Signer’s Dragons, Red Dragon Archfiend has the highest ATK power.
  • This deck includes ritual monsters, like Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys, which lets you destroy any number of your own cards to wipe that same number from your opponent’s field.
  • This deck also has several different monsters to synchro summon, including Lavalval Dragon.

How to play this deck:

  • Use with Jack Atlas’s skills: “King of the Archfiend,” increases ATK, “Might of the King,” adds spell and trap cards to the deck, and “Mark of the Dragon - Wings” adds 2 Dark Resonators and a Red Dragon Archfiend.
  • Red Dragon Archfiend not only has a high ATK, but it also has a special ability: when it attacks a monster in Defence Position, it destroys all the opponent’s monsters in Defense Position.
  • If a stronger dragon than Red Dragon Archfiend is needed, play Assault Mode Activate and summon Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode, the dragon’s strongest form.
  • Each Resonator Tuner Monsters has a useful ability: Dark Resonators cannot be destroyed in battle once per turn.
  • Dragons aren't the only thing in this deck: it also has Chaos King Archfiend, which switches the ATK and DEF of any monster it attacks.

6. Hero Generation

Hero Generation

With a city full of heroes, will you play Masked Hero Koga?

Jaden Yuki is best known for his Elemental Heroes; there are quite a few decks full of them. This new deck harnesses the power of the best heroes. It comes with several fusion combinations, so duelists can easily fusion summon.

  • A benefit of fusion, as long as all the needed cards are in your hand or on the field, you can fusion summon without tributing monsters.
  • Every Elemental Hero has a special effect: no matter the ATK power, each Hero is useful.
  • Even monsters with lower ATK can bring back monsters from the graveyard or return banished monsters to the field. This keeps monsters on your field in a permanent defense.

How to play this deck:

  • Works great with Jaden Yuki’s skills: “Miracle Fusion Time” adds a Miracle Fusion card to your hand, “Where the Heroes Dwell” lets you play a Skyscraper field spell, “Fusion Time” adds a Polymerization and a fusible monster to your hand, and “A New Power” adds more Elemental Heroes to your deck.
  • This deck has a large extra deck, providing many options for fusion summoning.
  • With the field spell Skyscraper 2 - Hero City, any Elemental Hero monster in the graveyard can be special summoned to the field.
  • Elemental Hero Heat gains 200 ATK for each Elemental Hero on the field, including himself.
  • Masked Hero Koga gains 500 ATK for every monster the opponent controls; it starts at 2500 ATK, making this monster difficult to defeat. Summon it without a fusion by using the Mask Change spell card.

5. Blackwing

Blackwing Deck Cards

Crow Hogan doesn't give up - neither will you, using his deck.

A popular choice, and arguably the most powerful of all the synchro decks, the Blackwing deck is one of the most complicated decks in Duel Links. Just like Crow Hogan’s deck in 5ds, this deck is full of monsters with complex abilities; opponents will struggle to keep up!

  • Monsters have special abilities to bring out other monsters, making synchro summoning possible early in the duel.
  • Blackwing monsters can make a defensive wall difficult to destroy while you set up to summon powerful synchro monsters.
  • Summon Crow Hogan’s Signer Dragon, Black-Winged Dragon!

How to play this deck:

  • Use with Crow Hogan’s abilities; “Blackwing Rising” gives Blackwing synchro monsters more ATK for a turn, while “Mark of the Dragon - Tail” adds more Blackwings to the deck.
  • Blackwing - Bora the Spear inflicts battle damage on any monster in defense position it attacks.
  • Despite its low level, Blackwing - Mistral the Silver Shield has a high DEF and will negate all battle damage for the following battle.
  • Blackwing - Shura the Black Flame can bring back any Blackwing with low ATK from the graveyard, including Mistral the Silver Shield, creating a solid defense.
  • Blackwing Armed Wing gains 500 ATK when attacking a monster in defense position, and deals battle damage.

4. Dark Magician

Dark Magician Cards

Dark Magician is back - with even more spellcasters!

For those who love classic Yugioh, this is a favored deck. While it is a deck with high leveled monsters, it is full of spell and trap cards to bring Magicians to the field without a tribute. Certain cards are so powerful, only two are allowed per deck.

  • The trick with this deck is the spell cards: with them, Dark Magician monsters can be summoned without a tribute.
  • Understandably, this deck favors spell and trap cards and has fewer monsters.
  • The different Dark Magician Cards have different summoning animations when summoned by Yugi Muto or Yami Yugi.

How to play this deck:

  • Use with Yami Yugi’s “Master of Magicians,” ability to add Dark Magic spell cards to your hand or Yugi Muto (DSOD)’s “Dark Horizon,” or “Gathering of Disciples” abilities to bring Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl to your hand or directly to the field.
  • Magician’s Rod is a monster that allows any Dark Magician spell or trap card from the deck to be added to your hand.
  • Magician Navigation is a trap card that lets you special summon a Dark Magician from your hand and your deck, sending both to the field.
  • Magician of Dark Illusions is instantly special summoned to the field when a trap card is played on the opponent’s turn. Using this and Magician Navigation gives you three Magicians to battle with on your next turn.
  • Dark Magician can be fused with any warrior monster to create Dark Cavalry, which gains 200 ATK for every spell or trap card on the field and in the graveyard, and deals damage to monsters in defense position.

3. Witchcrafter

Witchcrafter Cards

The Witchcrafters are new and are already making waves in tournaments.

This is a new deck, quickly rising in popularity. It is very complicated, as monsters must be banished, sent to the graveyard, and resummoned, but it is powerful. Despite never dueling in Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions, these are the cards used by Tea Gardner (DSOD).

  • As with many recently released decks, this deck uses complex monster abilities and spell cards.
  • After the Reminiscent of the Future event, this deck has been often merged with Magician Girl Monsters, including Kiwi Magician Girl.
  • Because this deck relies so heavily on monster abilities, if your opponent destroys your spell and trap cards, it will barely affect your strategy.

How to play this deck:

  • Witchcrafter Edel has a high ATK and a higher DEF. It can be tributed to summon a Witchcrafter monster from the Graveyard.
  • Witchcrafter Madame Verre gains 1000 ATK for every different spell card revealed.
  • Many Witchcrafters can tribute themselves to summon other Witchcrafters so you can get the one you need or summon the strongest to the field before your opponent gets the chance to react.
  • The Witchcrafter Holiday spell card pulls Witchcrafters from the graveyard back on the field.
  • Witchcrafter Unraveling is a continuous spell card, which allows a Witchcrafter to be special summoned from the hand every turn.

2. Blue-Eyes White Dragon

White Dragon of Legend

The White Dragon of Legend structure deck is a great place to find Blue-Eyes White Dragon support cards!

A classic, but a good deck, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon is still a favorite of long-standing fans and newbies alike. This deck is designed to support Seto Kaiba’s ace monster, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon

  • A benefit of a classic deck is its simplicity. Cards are straightforward, and the combinations are less complicated. This deck allows a beginner to duel like a pro.
  • Blue-Eyes White Dragon has different summoning animations for the different versions, unlocked by both Seto and Mokuba Kaiba.
  • For those who want to take it further, summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon for one of the strongest monsters in the game.

How to play this deck:

  • This is great with Seto Kaiba’s ability “Peak Performance,” which activates a Mountain field spell, increasing the ATK and DEF of all dragons, or Seto Kaiba (DSOD)’s “Ultimate Dragons,” that adds Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to your extra deck.
  • As Mokuba Kaiba (DSOD) takes after his brother, he has abilities that work well with this deck also, including “Gem Dragon Go!” that increases the chance of having dragons in your opening hand.
  • Hieratic Dragon of the East, despite being a Level 5 monster, can be summoned without a tribute, but it loses 900 ATK, leaving it with 1000 ATK.
  • Cosmo Brain has a high defense of 2450 DEF, creating a wall few monsters could breach.
  • Rider of the Storm Winds is a monster that can be attached to any dragon: with its power, the dragon deals damage to monsters in Defence Position.

1. Spellbound Silence

Silent Magician Cards

Duel like Yugi Muto, with a Silent Magician deck!

This is an underrated deck, but it is extremely powerful. Every time the opponent draws a card, Silent Magician LV4 increases their ATK. In a few turns, these monsters become tanks; few cards have as high attack power as Silent Magician LV8. This deck takes planning and strategy, but you can quickly get the hang of it and defeat any opponent.

  • For any spellcaster fan, this deck feels overpowered, as Silent Magician LV4 grows stronger when the opponent draws cards.
  • Paired with spell cards that instantly level up monsters or allow each player to draw more cards, allowing monsters to increase their ATK, this deck quickly raises your attack power, ensuring victory.
  • The deck has Gold Sarcophagus - the very card Yugi Muto used against Yami Yugi in the Ceremonial Duel!

How to play this deck:

  • Use with Yugi Muto’s “Silent Duelist” skill to bring out Silent Magician LV4 when life points decrease, or Yugi Muto (DSOD)’s “Spell Counter Boost” to increase Silent Magician LV4’s Spell Counter.
  • Silent Magician LV4 starts with 1000 ATK, but every time the opponent draws a card, the magician gains 500 ATK: within a few short turns, it quickly becomes one of the most powerful monsters on the field.
  • Silent Magician LV8 can be summoned on your first turn, with a Silent Magician LV4 and a Level Up spell card.
  • This deck can be merged with a Dark Magician deck or a Silent Swordsman deck for variation.
  • Gold Sarcophagus allows you to banish any one of your cards from the game for two turns, enabling you to set up your victory long in advance.
