In the world of Dark Souls III, the horrific and grisly enemies one may encounter is staggering. Thankfully, through the assistance of diverse weapons, one may easily deal with that conundrum. NUMBER 10:

Astora Greatsword

• Head into the graveyards

• Find the lone tree and grave
• Take it from the corpses there

Estoc

Deceptively fast and deadly, the Estoc does both slashing damage and piercing damage. Like a spear, the Estoc can quickly poke out its tip to deliver damage against those who wish to do you harm. Not much else to say about the weapon; it's simple and easy to use.

How to get the Estoc:

• Pick the Assassin Class
• Find Greirat the Merchant and take him to Firelink Shrine

NUMBER 8:

Crucifix of the Mad King

• High dark damage

A strange weapon, the Crucifix of the Mad King is a horrific amalgamation of holy weapon and corpse. Unique among the weapons in Dark Souls 3 is the ability of the crucifix. Whenever it is charged slammed, the crucifix’s power switches between three forms. One a poise based bonus, a dark explosion, or an AoE killer.

This frantic pattern allows one to truly string together various different combinations of attacks. Easily dealing with whatever stands before you in a flurry of abyssal power.

How to get the Crucifix of the Mad King:

• Complete the majority of Dark Souls III: The Ringed City
• Go to the end of time 
• Go towards your right and head towards the lone chapel
• Be embered
• Fight the phantom who invades you
• Take the Crucifix from their corpse

 

NUMBER 7

Dragonslayer Greataxe

One of the better Strength weapons in the game, the Dragonslayer Greataxe is a massive blade that can crush your opponents. With its weapon art, a charged arc of electricity runs across the surface of the weapon before it comes down like a lightning bolt from heaven. The Greataxe can destroy those who think that just because its slow and heavy, means that they can loosen their caution around it.

How to get Dragonslayer Greataxe:

• Kill the boss known as ‘The Dragonslayer Armor’
• Go back to Firelink Shrine and have its souls transposed into a weapon.

 

NUMBER 6:

DragonSlayer Axe

• Fair damage
• Extra lighting damage 

A simple, yet elegant death dealer. The Dragonslayer Axe can be used by mostly any builds in the game. It has a simple moveset, yet can not be underestimated. Its ability to attack opponents with its electrical damage makes it truly great against those that are weak to the element. And not even counting that extra ‘oomph’ on top of its normal damage value.

How to get The Dragonslayer Axe:

• Complete Siris of the Sunless Land’s quest
• Defeat High Lord Wolnir and head down the bridge towards Irithyll the Boreal Valley.
• Be embered and find Siris’ summon sign
• Assist her in killing the phantom
• Go through the area until you find a church
• Go down the stairs, be embered, and wait to be invaded
• Kill the invaded and upon his death recieve this weapon

NUMBER 5:

Sellsword Twinblades.

• Fair damage
• Great dexterity scaling.

One of the better known dex weapons in DS3, the Sellsword Twinblades are infamous for delivering quick and decisive blows to any PVE enemies or Invaders in PVP gameplay. Simple and sweet, the Sellsword Twinblades are relatively simple to find.

How to get the Sellsword Twinblades:

• Pick the mercenary class at the start of the game
• Go past the Black Knight located in the Road of Sacrifice

Uchigatana

One of the few katana class weapons in the game, the  Uchigatana is however one of the most reliable. Not as flashy as the Chaos Blade or the Frayed Blade or a compensator like the Washing Pole, the Uchigata is just a reliable dex blade that can be used with a reasonable amount of skill for the player.

How to get the Uchigatana:

• Find the Master at the beginning area of the game
• Defeat him and receive this weapon.

 

NUMBER 3:

Hollwslayer Greatsword

Another Greatsword, seeing a pattern? The Hollowslayer Greatsword is a solid choice for PVE among the community. It does a total of 20% more damage to hollow enemies in the game, which in this case, is basically every single enemy in the entire game. Not only that, its comparatively easy ability to use is a great starting point for those making their ways towards much more hefty Ultra Greatswords.

How to get The Hollowslayer Greatsword:

• Kill the Curse-Rotted Greatwood
• Take its soul to Firelink Shrine and have it transposed into a weapon

NUMBER 2:

Splitleaf Greatsword

• Good strength scaling
• Good damage

One of the best greatsword weapons in the game, isn’t even a greatsword. It’s a strange halberd that can be seen wielded by a certain character located in the Ringed City. One of its most unique characteristics is its weapon art. A swirl of overhead death that consumes stamina quickly, but can destroy any who dare stand in its path.

How to get the Splitleaf Greatsword:

• At the entrance to the rest of the DLC is a hunchback pilgrim
• Talk to her until you get to her merchant options
• Buy the Splitleaf Greatsword from her. (Note: Do this before hitting a certain boss, she’ll be gone by then.)

 

NUMBER 1:

Lothric Straight Sword

• Fair damage
• Balance and quite good scaling

Considered by a majority of the community to be the most direct and killer weapon in the game, the Lothric Knight Sword is known among the community for its ‘novel’ approach to attacks. Just with a few swipes of the weapon, the sword can easily break through most defense. Combined with its relative easiness to use and its consumption of stamina, the Lothric Knight Sword can deliver punishment to any and all opponents.

How to get the Lothric Straight Sword:

• Kill Lothric Knights, who are some of the first enemies in the entire game and are located a little farther into the beginning area.
