Enough with the babble and let’s proceed to check out a few great examples of games that are both Story Rich and have good graphics.
My Top 15 list:
15. Mass Effect Legendary Edition (Win / Ps4 / Xbox One)
Trailer:
Mass Effect Legendary edition also contains almost all the downloadable content of each game, such as armor, weapons, and packs, so if you missed the first ones, no sweat. The game itself is set in the Milkyway Galaxy in an alternate universe during the 22nd century.
It consists of action role-playing and the player takes the role of an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against organic starships called Reapers. The character is fully customizable and his morality depends on the player’s choices, which can also affect the story in many ways.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition was developed by Bioware and published by Electronic Arts on May 14th of this year 2021.
14. Resident Evil Village (Win / Ps4 / Ps5 / Stadia / Xbox One / Xbox Series X/S)
Trailer:
Resident Evil Village is a pretty great survival horror game, its graphics are really good. In this game, the player controls Ethan Winters who’s searching for his 6-month-old kidnapped daughter. After an encounter, he finds himself in a village filled with werewolf-mutant creatures. It’s snowy and very explorable.
If you’re a fan of the Resident Evil survival horror game series, you’ll love this one, and if you haven’t played the others yet, you’ll also love this one. Either way, this game is a winner! Another thing about this game is that the houses used in ‘the village’ follow a ghostly, gothic, werewolf theme.
Being in development for almost three and a half years before its announcement in 2020, Resident Evil Village was released by Capcom on the 7th of May 2021.
13. Devil May Cry 5 (Win / Ps4 / Xbox One / Xbox series X/S / Ps5)
Trailer:
Devil May Cry 5 is another great action-adventure game produced and developed by Capcom (The developers of Resident Evil Village). The plot follows a trio of warriors with Demonic powers! Now what’s great about this is that it piques your curiosity in action-adventure as well as has that Supernatural spice.
The player can use each of the characters on different missions and they all have their unique way of getting stronger as they fight off demons with various skills and interesting weapons. The game allows the player to buy new abilities for the characters each time they find a statue or interact with the mechanic Nico.
Devil May Cry 5 as I said was developed and published by Capcom for the first time on 8 March 2019.
12. Death Stranding (Win / Ps4 / Ps5)
Trailer:
Death Stranding is an action-packed game with really good graphics and an excellent plot. It follows Sam Porter Bridges, a courier tasked to deliver supplies to isolated colonies, researchers and survivalists but… there’s always a but, the game is set following a cataclysmic event that caused destructive creatures to roam around.
The player’s main enemies are otherworldly creatures, a colt of rogue, cargo-obsessed porters attempting to steal deliveries so they can deliver them themselves, and then MULEs who started killing other porters to claim their cargo. There is also rain called ‘timefall’ which can damage the character’s armor.
It’s a great apocalyptic set game and has been praised multiple times for its graphics. Death Stranded was developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment along with 505 games on 8 November 2019.
11. Cyberpunk 2077 (Win / Ps4 / Ps5 / Stadia / Xbox One / Xbox series X/S)
Trailer:
From the creators of The Witcher Wild Hunt, another great game is released! Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person perspective game that follows a customizable mercenary called V. Now, V can either be male or if you wish a female.
V can jump, double jump, aim, run, take cover, whatever the player needs the character to do. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a cyberpunk universe and was praised for its setting, graphics, and narrative, however, it received a lot of criticism after the release and had to be taken down for bug fixes.
It was developed and published by CD Projekt Red and this year 2021, it returned with all glory for gamers everywhere! Yay.
10. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (Win / Ps4 / Stadia / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch / Amazon Luna)
Trailer:
Resident Evil: Biohazard is another great survival-horror game by Capcom! They’re tackling this list of mine full on. The game follows Ethan as he searches for his long-missing wife. The plantation where he searches is occupied by an infected undead family.
By controlling him, the player is tasked to solve puzzles and fight enemies, while keeping a cool head surviving. Intense graphics with a lot of blood and gore! Talk about goosebumps… It’s the first main series game using a first-person perspective.
As I mentioned it was developed and published by Capcom on 27 January 2017 and has accumulated a variety of fans all over the world!
09. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Win / Ps4 / Ps5 / Xbox One / Xbox Series S/X / Nintendo Swich)
Trailer:
The Witcher: Wild Hunt is a great adventure game and it’s based on a series of fantasy novels, how cool is that? The game follows the story of Gerald of Rivia a monster slayer that’s for hire and known as a witcher.
Set in a fantasy world full of adventures the player gets to choose Gerald’s road by making choices on his behalf as he searches for his adopted daughter who’s on the run from The Wild Hunt. This is a game famous among gamers and known for its great effects and graphics.
It has three possible endings as you go on quests collecting experience points and gold! It was developed and published by CD Projekt Red on 19 May 2015 and is still going strong!
08. Detroit: Become Human (Win / Ps4)
Trailer:
Detroit: Become Human is a great adventure game and is played in third-person view. It has a sci-fi feel as you follow three androids each with its own goal. However, any of them can die during gameplay, which is kinda sad, but the story continues without them.
The player gets clues by highlighting their environment with a super cool augmented vision that allows your character android to reply passed events. An interesting fact or two about this game and its characters is the game is based on Quantic Dream’s 2012 Ps3 game ‘Kara’ who happens to be one of the android characters in Detroit: Become Human.
Fact number two is that Valorie Curry and Jessie Williams provided voices and faces for two of the android characters, which is awesome! It was developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on 25 May 2018.
07. Metro Exodus (Win / Ps4 / Xbox One / Stadia / Luna / Ps5 / Xbox Series X/S / Linux / Mac OS)

Both stories are told simultaneously in a third-person perspective, but the progress may not be, so one player might control their character while another takes a different approach. Both players need to work together though and communicate with each other as well as other non-playable characters.
An interesting fact about this game is that it sold over 2 million copies two weeks after release, that’s impressive! It was developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts on 23 March 2018.
03. The Outer Worlds (Win / Ps4 / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch / Xbox Cloud Gaming)

01. A Plague Tale: Innocence (Win / Ps4 / Xbox One / Amazon Luna / Nintendo Switch / Ps5 /Xbox Series X/S)
Trailer:
In a Plague Tale: Innocence the player plays Amicia De Rune from a third-person perspective. Players need to use stealth for the majority of the game and avoid hostile situations. If an enemy catches her they will kill her immediately on site.
Being equipped with nothing but a sling that can throw rocks and create distractions and can also lure rats to a certain point. The game also has a series of puzzles and Amicia can craft ammunition and supplies. Being of noble blood and on the run, she needs a special book to help her brother who’s being blamed for the spreading plague.
