You may have figured out what rings you like the best in Stardew Valley, but how should you pair them? Those two slots are limited, so let's find the best combinations of rings in SDV for every scenario you might need them in!
Best Combo: Early Game Mining
Small Glow Ring + Small Magnet Ring
Being some of the most easily attainable rings in the game, the small versions of the Glow and Magnet rings are a great way to start boosting your farmer’s stats as you make your way through The Mines for the first time. It’s a simple combination, but makes all the difference in collecting your loot!
Small Glow Ring
Effect: emits 5 tile radius circle of light.
Where to find: completing the Night Fishing Bundle, opening fishing treasure chests, killing Slimes in The Mines before floor 40.
Small Magnet Ring
Effect: increases magnetism (the radius for collecting dropped items) by 1 tile.
Where to find: completing the Adventurer’s Bundle, opening fishing treasure chests, breaking boxes and barrels in The Mines.
Best Combo: Late Game Mining
Glowstone Ring + Magnet Ring
A bit of an upgrade from the early game mining rings, combining the Glowstone Ring and the Magnet Ring means that not only do you get the combined effects of the regular-sized Glow and Magnet Rings but the magnet buff stacks with the additional Magnet Ring, making your magnetism radius 4 tiles!
Once you start using bombs to speed up your mining efficiency, this added radius will make collecting your goodies easy, and you can wave goodbye to the slog of mining each and every stone…
Glowstone Ring
Effect: emits 10 tile radius circle of light and increases magnetism by 2 tiles.
Where to find: crafted with Mining Level 4 (5x solar essence, 5x iron bar)
Magnet Ring
Effect: increases magnetism by 2 tiles.
Where to find: enemy drops in The Mines between floors 60-80, breaking boxes and barrels in The Mines.
Best Combo: Combat Grinding
Savage Ring + Napalm Ring
With arguably the best stat perks in combat, it would be silly to go hunting for those creepy creatures in The Mines without the Savage and Napalm Rings on hand (literally!). The Savage Ring will help you maintain a steady pace, especially helpful when you find yourself overwhelmed, and the Napalm Ring will do exactly as its namesake does - blow stuff up! Have fun decimating your foes!
Savage Ring
Effect: gives a 3-second speed +2 buff after killing a monster
Where to find: reward from the Adventurer’s Guild for killing 150 Void Spirits.
Napalm Ring
Effect: slain monsters will explode and damage other enemies, but not you.
Where to find: reward from the Adventurer’s Guild for killing 250 Serpents.
Best Combo: Farming, Fishing, and General Play
Glowstone Ring + Lucky Ring
When you’re just spending a day on the farm, or perhaps visiting the beach for some fishing, or even just panning for loot, the Glowstone Ring and Lucky Ring make a nice base buff addition for your gameplay. Giving you the efficiency and convenience of magnetism and a light circle as well as a massive boost to your Daily Luck, you’ll find that whatever you’re doing - be it harvesting crops, getting after those rare fish, or foraging for fruit - is much easier with this duo.
Glowstone Ring
Effect: emits 10 tile radius circle of light and increases magnetism by 2 tiles.
Where to find: crafted with Mining Level 4 (5x solar essence, 5x iron bar)
Lucky Ring
Effect: increases Luck by +1.
Where to find: dropped as a special item in the Skull Cavern, panning.
Best Combo: Skull Cavern Mining and Combat
Ring of Yoba + Phoenix Ring
There’s nothing worse than dying in the Skull Cavern - not only do you lose your stuff, but you lose all that progress! Whilst you might want some collection buffs on your side (such as magnetism or luck), I urge you to focus on your combat skills first. After all, that’s the real threat down below… In the famous words of the old man, it’s dangerous to go alone! Take this. The Ring of Yoba will help keep you alive, and the Phoenix Ring will help keep you from dying - the perfect Skull Cavern combo.
Ring of Yoba
Effect: chance to receive Yoba’s Blessing buff after taking damage. This buff gives you 5 seconds of invincibility.
Where to find: crafted with Combat Level 7 (5x iron bar, 5x gold bar, 1x diamond)
Phoenix Ring
Effect: restored to 50% health after being knocked out (limit to once per day).
Where to find: chests in the Volcano Dungeon, which can be accessed on Ginger Island after unlocking Willy’s Boat
(note: quest to fix Willy’s Boat is given after completion/sale of Community Centre, requires 200x hardwood, 5x iridium bars, and 5x battery packs plus 1,000g per trip).
