10. Timberwolf Classic

The Timberwolf is probably the most iconic Mech of the BattleTech franchise and it also packs quite the punch. This build stays close to the original and features its long-range missile pods as well as the medium pulse lasers in the arms. The build is strong on heat containment, with a total of 21 heat sinks. This large mech is however easy to hit, and the build skimps on survivability components, so use cover and the support of your team. The skillset maximizes firepower. Find high ground to maximize the effect of your long-range missiles and then let the enemy come at you with your pulse lasers at the ready.

What makes the Timberwolf Classic Great:

  • Versatile with both long-range and short-range weaponry
  • Pinpoint damage at medium to short ranges; great for depleting armor and damaging components
  • Pulse lasers can one-shot the smaller Mechs

9. Bullet Hail Mauler

Navigating difficult terrain from inside a Mauler

Navigating difficult terrain from inside a Mauler

This build is all about the ballistics, namely three rotary AC2 autocannons on the right torso side and three normal AC2 autocannons on the left side. The Mauler’s arms are practically just used as additional shielding here. Use the arm shields and twist the Mech’s torso to prevent enemy fire from landing hits on your more sensitive components. Skills boost ammo capacity, heat management, and survivability. Try and engage the enemies early, to soften them up at longer ranges.

What makes the Bullet Hail Mauler Great:

  • Can put a lot of bullets downrange in a short time.
  • Long weapon ranges
  • Difficult to take down
  • Good from overwatch positions

8. Quad Shotgun Mayhem - Cyclops Sleipnir

Your typical Cyclops Mech

Shotguns galore! This build uses four LBX autocannon shotguns, which makes it ideal to shred armor and components. The build integrates additional ammo storage. The skillset reduces the LBX spread while increasing ammo capacity, heat management, and armor and structure points. This is more of a CGB brawler build, due to the spread of the LBXs.

What makes the Quad Shotgun Mayhem - Cyclops Sleipnir great:

  • LBX shotguns don’t generate a lot of heat
  • Each individual shotgun pellet has a chance to crit
  • Super easy to play, as no pinpoint aiming is required
