[Top 15] Dragon Ball FighterZ Best Combos That Are Freakin' Awesome!

Dragon Ball FighterZ Best Combos That Are Freakin' Awesome!
Combos made by characters aren't only deadly, they're cool as heck!

What do we expect from any Dragon Ball video games? It certainly ain’t the thrill of searching for seven magic balls. On the other hand, the over-the-top action sequences from martial arts games will always leave you hanging and wanting more of this franchise! Just take a look at Dragon Ball FighterZ and the vast number of awesome combos that were performed by various characters inside the game.

For gamers who have played (or watched people play the game on YouTube or other platforms), you might have noticed how balanced most characters are, in terms of power scale (except probably the lab coat version of Android 21). But certainly, some combos will be better than others, right? However, due to the fact that this game’s mechanics operates via the use of auto combos, we will rank the combos based on their animations and how cool they look!

15. Android 16

Android 16 is not as popular as other characters. However, his cool animations deserve to be recognized.

Android 16 is one of Dr. Gero’s most popular man-made machines in the series. Unlike #17 and #18, Android 16’s technology is a little bit outdated. Furthermore, he has less range of emotions compared to his successors.

In the FighterZ game, Android 16 is a heavy hitter that can catch your opponent off-guard. Plus, he also has some protective armor that makes him thick and hard to penetrate. Unfortunately, his lack of popularity compared to other characters can only help him reach the bottom of this list.

What Makes Android 16’s Combos Great?

  • Android 16’s anime counterpart doesn’t have any iconic movement, which is why he can’t reach any further beyond this list. However, he sure packs a heavy punch and can grab your opponent while hurting them without mercy.
  • During #16’s initial combo, you can see an extra piece of armor that seems to protect him from any incoming attack. Well, it actually prevents the opponent from attacking him (bar projectile attacks and ki blasts), which makes him all the more difficult to defeat.

14. Kid Buu

DBZ's baddest villain is here, and his combos look beautiful.

The final boss from Dragon Ball Z’s original run, Kid Buu is as menacing as all of Goku’s previous opponents, but ten times more powerful and unforgiving. Despite his small stature, Kid Buu shows you that size doesn’t matter in a game of power and will. It takes the combined effort and energy of all the people from Planet Earth to finally defeat him once and for all.

What Makes Kid Buu’s Combos Great?

  • Kid Buu is really small, yet he is very quick and nimble. People who use him will take pride in hitting their opponents with Kid Buu’s aggressive and quick movements.
  • Every Buu variant has an elastic body that can easily catch people from afar. This trait can also be seen and taken advantage of for his initial combo movements. Frustrate your opponents by hitting them from a long range!
  • When doing his auto combo using the heavy attack button, you’ll notice that he will hit the opponent with his signature spin kick, which is always great to see! Furthermore, it will land an airborne opponent down below for a follow-up move.

13. Vegeta SSGSS

Even for his animations alone, Vegeta SSGSS is still able to rival Goku's animations!

Goku’s true rival, Vegeta doesn’t stand idly when his competitor succeeds in learning the secrets of the Super Saiyan God mode and manages to attain the form for himself. The SSGSS form, or as people call it the Super Saiyan Blue, is really useful and beneficial throughout the whole Dragon Ball Super series. Heck, it’s so iconic that there are lots of merchandise that depict both Goku and Vegeta in this form.

Generally, Vegeta still unleashes most of his usual techniques while using the Super Saiyan Blue form, such as the Big Bang Attack and Final Flash. Still, there are some upgrades (both in animation and power) that make this form worthwhile to try on.

What Makes Vegeta SSGSS’s Combos Great?

  • The Super Dash Kick move is one of Vegeta’s great specials in his arsenal. However, you can still follow it up with another combo or moves that will result in something damaging and really beautiful to look at.
  • Try to end his auto combo with his special move “Big Bang Attack”. Right before unleashing the big ki blast, he will charge up while angrily shouting at his opponent.

12. Adult Gohan

This is arguably Gohan's most powerful form.

Gohan is Goku’s oldest son and the first ever Saiyan-human hybrid. It is said that his potential is even higher than that of Goku and Vegeta. It’s such a shame that he throws it all up for academic and career purposes. However, fans can relive his mighty and all-powerful moves through his combos in this cool game.

What Makes Adult Gohan’s Combos Great?

  • One of Adult Gohan’s combos allows him to do multiple kicks towards his opponents. Although it doesn’t deal a lot of damage, it still acts as a propeller for more combos to come.
  • You should try an auto combo that mixes the medium and light attack buttons. This will trigger an animation that allows him to combine both his kicks and punches, which is really badass!
  • You should try wearing his Great Saiyaman skin as well. Some of his moves and combos look better-suited in this crazy superhero gimmick suit!

11. Janemba

Janemba is a regular on our list, so why not include him now?

Janemba is a creature that was created due to the overweighing sins of people who rot in hell. He is really powerful, as only Gogeta is powerful enough to beat him and return peace to the universe. As an alien, Janemba doesn’t speak human language and is often seen carrying a sword that he uses to slash opponents around.

What Makes Janemba’s Combos Great?

  • Janemba is only one of the few characters in the game to be able to bring your opponent from mid-air to the ground with ease. Plus, he does it with a really cool animation that is really unique and beautiful to watch.
  • Janemba is probably the most notable character in the game to use a weapon that assists his attack. That itself is a good enough reason for us to put him on this list, as we rank the best combos based on their animations.

10. Gogeta Super Saiyan 4

People love to use Gogeta because of his power and animations.

In the FighterZ game, you will see two different variations of Gogeta, one of the most beloved characters in the whole series. But first things first, let’s talk about the Super Saiyan 4 form. He is a really powerful character that can actually beat Omega Shenron, Dragon Ball GT’s final and most powerful villain. His might is really reflected in this game.

What Makes Gogeta Super Saiyan 4’s Combos Great?

  • Gogeta is a really cocky and arrogant character. You can see this trait even in the game, as his combos are really easy. His animations make it seem like he’s toying around with his opponents, which will definitely frustrate your enemies.
  • If you knew Gogeta well, you might notice that he tends to create an invincible barrier that prevents his opponent from hitting him, then he will counter them with a chain of movements that will end your opponent’s misery. Not only is it effective both in the game and the anime, but it does look beautiful too.

9. Goku (Ultra Instinct Mode)

Goku's moves are translated beautifully in this game!

The ultimate and most powerful form obtained by Goku so far, the Ultra Instinct mode allows him to achieve super reflexes and counter his enemy with something surprising. This form also helped him to turn the tide against Jiren and Kefla during the Tournament of Power arc. Furthermore, his gray hair is also iconic for all Dragon Ball Super fans.

What Makes Goku Ultra Instinct Mode’s Combos Great?

  • This version of Goku allows him to have an auto combo that hits his opponent from different directions quickly. Plus, he also combines kicks, punches, and even Kamehamehas!
  • His auto combo allows him to hang in the air for a very long time, leaving a lot of space for you to punch your way into victory. Should we also add to the fact that the animation looks so dope?

8. Kefla

It makes perfect sense for the developer to make beautiful animations for someone as popular as Kefla.

Kefla is a powerful fusion warrior that exists when Cale and Kaulifla blend together by using the potara earrings. Never underestimate her power, as she is easily one of the best fighters in the Tournament of Power arc.

What Makes Kefla’s Combos Great?

  • Kefla unleashes all her power for her combos. You can see a mixture of red ki blasts flying, heavy uppercuts and kicks that will leave your enemy down.
  • Just before the end of the combo, you can still add one more special move, which is really cool. Besides, the movements and animations look so similar to the animations from the anime.

7. Bardock

Bardock can finish everyone off beautifully with his awesome animations.

The father of Goku and the only Saiyan in his era to be brave enough to challenge Frieza, Bardock is a really fierce warrior who knows no fear. He has a similar build to Goku, with the only noticeable difference being his iconic green armor.

Bardock has never appeared in the anime series (or even met an adult Goku). He also has a little screen time bar for his own titular movie. But his appearances are iconic enough that fans demanded more of him. Hence, FighterZ developers introduced him as one of the most powerful characters in the game.

What Makes Bardock’s Combos Great?

  • Like Janemba, Bardock has the ability to take his opponent down to the ground from an airborne position. It’s not the usefulness of the perk that we’re talking about, but the fact that he looks so cool while doing it!
  • Try spamming his medium attack button and you will see how he will gracefully kick the enemy with some beautiful kicks and spin moves. Plus, he will propel both you and the opponent into the air.
  • Let’s also talk about Bardock’s all-round skills, which are also great. In fact, he is one of the best all-rounders in the lineup. Although we rank our list based on the character’s animation, it is still important to take note of his ability!

6. Goku Black

The developers have done Goku Black justice in this game.

In an alternate universe, the evil Lord Zamasu tries to steal Goku’s body and take control of the world. What’s even worse is the fact that he can transform into a new form called the Super Saiyan Rose. With this evil form, he terrorized future Trunks’ alternate universe.

Goku Black, and especially his Super Saiyan Rose form, is a beloved form amongst the Dragon Ball Super fandom. It makes perfect sense for the developers to create a really beautiful and iconic character inside the game.

What Makes Goku Black’s Combos Great?

  • Goku Black has some of the most menacing attacks that can pierce through your opponent’s defense in a heartbeat. His iconic energy sword is also a beautiful thing to look at.
  • Most of Goku Black’s combos will always feature a pink-colored ki and aura. It is really unique as he is the only Dragon Ball character to use this color as his main aura.
  • Goku Black also has some long-range attacks, which are both effective and really awesome.

5. Broly (DBZ Version)

Broly doesn't have any weaknesses, even his animations look cool.

A tank. A hitter. A terrifying boss. The first incarnation of Broly from Dragon Ball Z is a really scary villain that you wouldn’t want to mess around with. Plus, his large stature also enables him to pack a heavy punch or two. He truly earns the right to be nicknamed the Legendary Super Saiyan.

What Makes Broly’s Combos Great?

  • As mentioned previously, Broly has a large body, even bigger than his DBS incarnation. This factor alone allows him to bully his way around the enemies. You can clearly see him toying and throwing opponents around for fun.
  • Broly really takes advantage of all parts of his body, and we really mean every part of himself. Aside from the conventional and obvious choices (hands and legs), Broly users can see him damage his opponent using his stomach and even his groin for shorter opponents.

4. Hit

People will surely be grateful of Hit's beautiful animations in this game.

The quiet and dangerous assassin from Universe 6, Hit is a really effective killer that always manages to accomplish his target. Add to the fact that he also masters the amazing time-skip technique which allows him to stop a fraction of time, what more can you expect from a top-class warrior, right?

Just as his anime counterpart does, Hit is a heavy-hitter that can still move at a really high pace. Gamers who really like to use him know that opponents will go nuts when they are attacked with multiple hits (pun intended) from this hero.

What Makes Hit’s Combos Great?

  • Just try any of Hit’s auto combos. You’ll notice that he really means every punch that he makes. The sound and animation really make it seem like each direct hit to the opponent can actually kill or at least knock them unconscious.
  • As mentioned previously, Hit mastered the ability to skip a fraction of time and gain an advantage from his opponent. This quirk is reflected through his fast movements all around the screen (you can see him vanish and go from left to right while damaging the opponent). That time-skip animation is truly something unique and awesome to look at!

3. Gogeta

You know who looks better than Gogeta SSJ4? His Super Saiyan Blue form!

Just like Broly, Gogeta also has two different incarnations in this game. This time, we’re going to be talking about his Super Saiyan Blue form. This form first appeared during his fight against the mighty Broly. After a successful fusion ritual performed by Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta emerged and defeated Broly with ease.

What Makes Gogeta’s Combos Great?

  • Gogeta can create two illusions of himself when preparing to launch the Final Kamehameha attack. It can be used to distract the opponent and catch them off-guard. Plus, you can also chain the move with an amazing drop kick!
  • Aside from the awesome Final Kamehameha, Gogeta is also capable of blasting the Big Bang Kamehameha to finish off his opponent. However, make sure to precede the special move with a set of combos that consist of medium and heavy attacks.

2. Vegito

It feels like a crime to not include Gogeta's counterpart on this list.

There are two different ways in which Goku and Vegeta can fuse together. As an alternative to the fusion dance, they can also use the potara earrings to create Vegito, an equally powerful fusion warrior. Naturally, they have different traits and techniques. However, fans still love them equally and are looking forward to their appearances in different Dragon Ball games.

What Makes Vegito’s Combos Great?

  • Since his first appearance against Super Buu, Vegito rarely wanted to fight with his full power. Therefore, you can see him give a handicap to his opponents by crossing his hands and only using his legs to fight and kick them.
  • Like Gogeta, Vegito can use the Final Kamehameha technique. However, his unique finishing move can be seen with the amazing spirit sword. In FighterZ, he can use the spirit sword to cut through his opponent and swing him in different directions.

1. Jiren

The universe's most powerful character also happens to be the one with the most beautiful animations.

Our last character, who happens to be the best character with the coolest-looking combos, also happens to be one of the most powerful characters in the series as well. Well, it’s Jiren, the fearless leader of the Pride Troopers. He rarely talks and moves, but you should not mistake his lack of initiative to engage.

What Makes Jiren’s Combos Great?

  • Jiren has a cool initial combo starter in which he appears to do nothing, but then a fiery of blasts will hit your opponent and take them aback. Aside from the awesome animation, you can also kickstart a chain of combos with this move.
  • Jiren also has a unique cutscene midgame that no other character has. Through an auto combo, he will blast his opponent into the air and seemingly make them explode, while he turns his back and closes his eyes. So, so badass and dope!
