About - Anna Chipman: Anna is a professional writer and an avid tabletop gamer. Anna attended college in 2005 for journalism and British literature , and again in 2017 for creative writing. She is wooed by the idea of escapism through reading, writing and diving into a thematic strategy game. All the better if it involves pirates! She has been writing poetry and short stories for over 15 years and has even started a novel, about her love of table top gaming. Anna got involved in the board gaming industry in 2009 when some friends she met through World of Warcraft (yea, it’s that deep) found out she was local to them and invited her over for a board game night. She had no idea what she was getting into, but a couple of rounds of Flux and Settlers of Catan (yea, it’s a gateway) she was Hooked! (yea, thats a capital H) Those same friends took her to her first ever Gen Con and it has been a staple in her life ever since. Anna identifies as a professional Gen Con attendee as 2020 would have been her 12th convention. She lives and breaths all the in’s and out’s and oddities you can find at the best four days in gaming. Anna has had varying levels of involvement in the gaming industry, from working games at Gen Con, helping with life size demonstrations, and even running a board game review channel on youtube with her significant other, Tim. Anna and Tim also owned their own board game store for one year. One of the most important things to Anna is sharing her love of table top gaming with the world and her children. Creating a space for people to use their brains and their creativity is an itch she will never be able to fully scratch.
