[Top 15] Teamfight Tactics Best Items (And How To Get Them)

Strong champs won't get you far without the right items!

There’s currently a total of 35 complete items in TFT as of set 7, excluding the Tactician's Crown. Knowing which one to use for each type of comp, or for each champ is essential for winning your matches.

15. Frozen Heart

+20 Shield, +15 Mana

“Reduce the Attack Speed of enemies within 2 hexes by 25%.”

This item may be overlooked next to the quintessential defense trio items, however, this is a great addition to any of your tanks.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among champs such as Diana and any tank

  • Smaller Shield Stat ≠ Worse Item

For a tank to slow its opponents down is a massive bonus, as it also means it’s taking less damage per second, balancing out its low shield boost.

14. Statikk Shiv

+10% Attack Speed, +15 Mana

“Grant 15% bonus Attack Speed. Every 3rd attack shocks 4 enemies for 70 magic damage and reduces their Magic Resist by 50% for 5 seconds.”

The statikk shiv is usually not the preferred item for damage dealers, however, it can still be considered as it provides an effect that none other does: shock.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among troops such as Swain, Nami, Daeja, and Nidalee.

  • Complementary Items:

Using it alongside Guinsoo’s Rageblade is a great idea to take advantage of the “3rd attack” boost from the Statikk Shiv.

  • Perfect Comp Style:

Having any champ with a statikk shiv in a comp based on a magic-damage carry is great as the Magic Resist reduction will allow your carry to deal more damage to your opponents.

13. Hand of Justice

+10 Mana, +15% Crit Chance

“Grant 2 effects:

+15 Attack Damage and 15% Ability Power

Attacks and Abilities heal for 15% of damage dealt

Each round, randomly increase 1 of these effects by 30%.”

The hand of justice is an interesting choice of an item. It adds lots of bonuses. You get healing, attack damage, and ability power. It's not very common to have all of these at the same time which is why this is such a great item, however, the percentages are given to balance it out to not make it overpowered.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among troops such as Shyvana, Olaf, and Corki.

  • When To Build It:

Getting this item early in the game is particularly useful as you’ll get to stack your abilities more for when you reach later stages of the game.

Item Recipe: Sparring Gloves +  Mana (Tear of the Goddess)

12. Spear of Shojin

+10 Attack Damage, +15 Mana

“Attacks restore 8 additional Mana.”

There is a sort of rule which states that if a troop's max mana is below 50, you should use the Blue Buff, and if its max mana is over 50 you should use the Spear of Shojin. For troops who depend on constantly using their abilities to deal considerable damage, this is a must-have!

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among troops such as Sona, Anivia, Ao Shin, and Auerlion Sol.

  • The Age Old Question: Blue Buff or Spear of Shojin?

For set 7, the Blue Buff is basically non-existent as the Spear of Shojin is just that much better.

  • Complementary Items

Usually paired up with the Archangel's Staff as restoring mana and additional ability power is a match made in heaven.

Item Recipe: B. F. Sword + Mana (Tear of the Goddess)

11. Gargoyle Stoneplate

+20 Magic Resist, +20 Shield

“Gain 16 Armor and 16 Magic Resist for each enemy targeting the holder.”

If possible, this should be equipped for all of your tanks. With no exceptions.

  • No Sacrifices in Defense:

You get the best of both worlds: Magic Resist and Shields. It’s better to have a good balance of both, rather than having too much of one but too little of the other.

  • Tanking Gangs:

Its ability to increase armor depending on the number of enemies targeting the holder is a massive benefit, especially for troops with lots of health as it will allow them to hold off multiple enemies at the same time for a longer period of time, rather than being immediately destroyed by large groups of champs.

10. Thief's Gloves

+15% Crit Chance, +15% Dodge Chance

“Each round: equip 2 random items. Improves with player level!”

A safe choice to add to troops to complement your carry or your tank. The luck factor is its biggest pro but also its biggest con. However, having any item is way better than having no items at all. It’s a safe choice for any champ but it’s definitely not going to massively increase the damage they're dealing or the damage they are blocking/receiving.

9. Quicksilver

+20 Magic Resist, +15% Dodge Chance

“Grant 20% bonus Attack Speed.

Combat start: immune to crowd control for 15 seconds.”

Quicksilver was probably in the top 5 items of the previous set due to troops like Blitzcrank which could only be stopped by this item. Now, as there is no such a thing other than Thresh, its use has decreased. Do not be fooled though, the quicksilver is still great for direct attack champs.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most common among champs who deal direct attack damage such as Elise, Syfen, Olaf, and Volibear.

  • Great For Ranged Attacks:

Also used with ranged attack troops, who are usually placed in corners, to improve their attack speed.

  • Stun Protection

Champs who depend on not being stunned to deal serious damage, due to things like low health, will find this item very useful.

Item Recipe: Sparring Gloves + Negatron Cloak

8. Giant Slayer

+10 Attack Damage, +10% Attack Speed

“Abilities and attacks deal 20% more damage. If the target has more than 2200 maximum Health, deal 45% more damage.”

The combination of an attack speed and attack damage item sounds like the perfect match for any carry. And it very well might be. This item can be used by basically any damage dealer, whether it does mainly magic or physical damage. There are no exceptions to it.

  • Main Benefit:

Versatility is its biggest point in favor.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among champs such as Daeja, Corki, Xayah, among many more.

  • When To Use It:

This item is especially useful during the late game as champs with more than 2200 max health are more common.

Item Recipe: B. F. Sword + Recurve Bow

7. Sunfire Cape

+150 Health, + 10 Armor

“Every 2 seconds, an enemy within 2 hexes is burned for 10% of their maximum health as true damage over 10 seconds. Any healing they receive is reduced by 50%.”

A part of the quintessential defense trio, the Sunfire Cape will allow tanks to also deal damage and cut healing down from their opponents. It’s an overall great addition to any tank or defense troop in your comps.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among all defensive champs.

  • Main Benefit:

An essential part of any comp due to its healing reduction ability.

Item Recipe: Chain Vest + Giant's Belt

Find more info at: https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Sunfire_Cape_(Teamfight_Tactics)

6. Archangel's Staff

+10 Ability Power, +15 Mana

“In combat, gain 20 Ability Power every 5 seconds.”

The meta has made this item rise in the ranks, as ability power is more essential than ever for certain troops. That doesn’t mean it is limited to only these types of champs though. Also, since it can be stacked, using two or three of these in the same champ can be game-changing!

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among champs such as Daeja, Anivia, Sona, Aurelion Sol, Ao Shin.

  • -A Big Tank Will Go A Long Way:

Use in comps paired with strong tanks, as time is key with this item. The more time that goes by, the stronger your champ with this item will become.

  • -Complementary Items:

Almost always used alongside the Spear of Shojin, or depending on your champs ability a Morellonomicon can also be a good option.

Item Recipe: AP (Needlessly Large Rod) + Mana (Tear of the Goddess)

5. Titan's Resolve

+10 Attack Speed, +20 Armor

“Gain 2 Attack Damage and Ability Power when attacking or taking damage.

After stacking 25 times, gain 25 Armor and Magic Resist!”

With the implementation of dragons in set 7, this seems to be a match made in heaven, or hell depending on how you see these creatures. The point is that Titan’s Resolve is awesome! The fact that there is no limit to how many of these you can give to one champ has allowed crazy 3-Titan’s Resolve builds resulting in gargantuan unkillable tanks.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used in high health or tanks with the ability to regenerate health like Neeko, and like mentioned previously dragons such as Syfen, Shi Oh Yu, and Shivana.

  • An Attacking Tank?!

Allows tanks to get more involved in your teamfights, rather than just being there as bait for the enemy team to devour.

  • Pro Tip:

The only side note about Titan’s Resolve is that low-health tanks like Shen, Leona, or Ilaoi will probably not take full advantage of its ability since these troops will most likely die before the 25-stack bonus kicks in. So keep that in mind before using this in your comps.

Item Recipe: Chain Vest + Recurve Bow

4. Morellonomicon

+10 Ability  Power, +150 Health

“Grant 40 bonus Ability Power.

Magic or true damage from an Ability burns the holder's target, dealing 25% of the target's maximum Health as true damage over 10 seconds and reducing healing by 50% for the duration of the burn.”

Morellonomicon is a controversial pick to be so high on this list. However, I believe that what you get from it can benefit a wider range of champs, and for the few specific ones that actually take advantage of its ability, it can get pretty brutal very quickly.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used in magic damage champs, who also deal splash area damage, such as Anivia, and Sona.

  • Don’t Let Your Opponents Get Ahead of You:

A big must-have in your comps is an item that reduces healing from your enemy troops. And the Morellonomicon is probably the best item to get that from.

  • An Underrated Item:

40+ bonus ability power might get overlooked by many but it’s what makes it very versatile and therefore can be used by most magic damage champs.

Item Recipe: Giant’s Belt + AP (Needlessly Large Rod)

3.  Warmog's Armor

+300 Health

“Grants 1000 bonus Health (including components).”

There’s not much to say about the Warmog’s as it is such a simple item. However, that doesn’t make it any less crucial. Giving this to any of your tanks will already massively improve your entire comp. As your tank can take more damage, the rest of your team will have that extra time to deal more and more damage to the enemy team.

  • Great for Tanks, Even Better For Dragons

-Warmog’s should only be given to tanks so as not to waste valuable item space for your carries, however, it is also worth noting that dragons can massively benefit from this armor, whether they’re playing as a tank or not.

  • Go-To Defensive Item:

Although shields and magic resist are very important for tanks, there really is nothing quite like getting a huge 1000 health bonus and it can set the difference between a strong tank and a BEAST tank.

Item Recipe: Giant’s Belt + Giant’s Belt

2.  Bloodthirster

+10 Attack Damage, +20 Magic Resist

“Damage heals the holder for 25% of the damage dealt. Once per combat at 40% Health, gain a 25% maximum Health shield that lasts up to 5 seconds.“

This is the go-to direct attack item for set 7 of TFT. The only reason this isn’t at number one is that there are still lots of range-attack champs who will not see any real benefits from the Bloodthirster. However, anyone champ who is capable of going on 1v1 direct combat will be able to outlast their opponent thanks to the insane boost it provides.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used in close combat champs such as Syfen, Shi Oh Yu, Yasuo, Elise, Yone, and many more.

  • Long-Lasting Carries Are Key!

Extra healing and shields provided by the Bloodthirster will allow your champ to be the last one standing in its combats.

-Don’t Forget About Your Tanks!

The bloodthirster can also be given to tank troops, to allow for extra damage while providing the necessary shields these types of troops very much need.

Item Recipe: B.F. Sword + Negatron Cloak

1. Guinsoo's Rageblade

+10 Ability Power, +10 Attack Speed

“Attacks grant +6% bonus Attack Speed. This effect stacks!”

With the ongoing set 7 meta, there is nothing better than Guinsoo’s Rageblade. It really is the perfect item. Whether it’s from range or direct attack, this thing will help boost any of your troops. Its versatility makes it a must-have for most champs. If at any given point, you’re not able to get that specific item you might be looking for, try and replace it with the Rageblade. I promise you, you will not regret it.

  • Who To Use It On:

Most commonly used among champs who depend on constantly using their ability such as Daeja, Elise, Nidalee, Swain, and many more.

  • Champ Compatibility:

Champs with low max mana can also massively benefit from the Rageblade, as the stacking effect will allow for insanely quick attacks and therefore ability usage.

  • The People’s Item:

Although some champs may benefit from it more than others, anyone can use that extra boost on attack speed.

Item recipe: Recurve Bow + AP (Needlessly Large Rod)
