Which Secondary Awakening monsters are the best?

The Second Awakening feature in Summoners War, introduced back in June, has given new life to underpowered and overlooked 2* and 3* monsters. Each of these monsters is farmable, allowing F2P players the chance to get powerful units without relying on scroll RNG. Several of these monsters stand above the rest in their usefulness and strength with their new powers.

5. Elucia (Water Fairy)

Elucia can be a beast when it comes to PvP crowd control with her combination of skills.

Elucia is one of the monsters that you acquire during the game’s tutorial, and as such she is typically thought of as useless. However, her Second Awakening improves upon her skills enough that even top tier players are building her.

Elucia’s first skill is her selling point, as it has a 100% chance to freeze. Her second skill cleanses an ally, increases their Attack Bar by 25%, and heals according to her Attack power. Her third skill puts an enemy to sleep for two turns.

  • Build her with Revenge runes for tons of freezing procs
  • Can boost a key ally’s ATB to ensure faster turns for other healers or nukers
  • Fast cooldown times on all of her skills means they’re constantly available
  • Only 3* with a 2 turn sleep, making her extremely useful for negating Vio procs

Monster Stats (Secondary Awakened Lv. 40):

  • HP: 10050
  • ATK: 714
  • DEF: 648
  • SPD: 104
  • CRIT RATE: 15

4. Camaryn (Dark Pixie)

Camaryn can negate passives, deny enemies their hardest-hitting moves, and control the battlefield.

Camaryn went entirely overlooked before her Second Awakening, but this new feature has made her not just viable but excellent, especially in PvP. She is an Attack type monster and can be built to do significant damage with her third skill in addition to its cooldown increase.

Her first skill has a 75% chance to apply a Glancing Hit debuff for two turns. Her second skill is an AOE attack that decreases the speed of all enemies for two turns and increases their cooldown time by one turn. Her third skill attacks three times, and each attack increases cooldown time by one turn in addition to healing herself by 50% of the damage.

  • Hidden contender in RTA with cooldown increase and speed reduction
  • Build fast for Arena teams to neutralize passives and hard-hitting skills
  • Use her skill cooldown to control waves in Tartarus’s Labyrinth
  • Excellent in Trial of Ascension to negate difficult waves or certain bosses

Monster Stats (Secondary Awakened Lv. 40):

  • HP: 9390
  • ATK: 801
  • DEF: 604
  • SPD: 111
  • CRIT RATE: 15
  • CRIT DMG: 50
  • RES: 15

3. Kro (Dark Inugami)

Kro does monster damage when his enemies have harmful effects stacked on them.

Kro had good damage even before his 2A, but after this upgrade his multipliers jump up as high as 720% of his Attack on his third skill. He is an Attack type monster who can deal significant damage due to his second and third skills also scaling off of the number of harmful effects on the enemy.

Kro’s first skill applies Defense break and Continuous Damage with an 80% chance each. His second skill teams up with an ally to do damage that increases by 20% for each harmful effect on the enemy. His third leaves a Brand and does 50% more damage for each harmful effect on the enemy.

  • Excellent for boss damage in dungeons due to his skills scaling off harmful effects
  • Bring to 4* Siege towers to do massive damage to single targets
  • Use in Guild War and Arena offense with debuffers to do as much as 40k damage
  • Impressive damage on Rift beasts and Raid teams makes him a great backliner

Monster Stats (Secondary Awakened Lv. 40):

  • HP: 9555
  • ATK: 769
  • DEF: 626
  • SPD: 108
  • CRIT RATE: 15
  • CRIT DMG: 50
  • RES: 15

2. Raoq (Fire Inugami)

He can get turn after turn when built with the proper Attack and Crit stats thanks to his passive.

Raoq has always been a strong contender as a farmer, and can be used early game as a nuker. He is an Attack type monster, and his selling point is his passive, which gives him another turn and reduces his cooldowns each time he defeats a monster.

His first skill has a 70% chance to weaken the enemy’s defense and has a 30% chance to hit more than once. His second skill teams up with two allies to attack the target. The multipliers on both of these are 450% percent per hit, giving him significant damage.

  • Excellent farmer who can do sub-minute Faimon Hell runs
  • Great in Secret Dungeons to wipe out entire floors by himself
  • Can get super fast wave clears in dungeons and do good boss damage
  • Strong contender in PvP due to his damage and his passive, especially early game

Monster Stats (Secondary Awakened Lv. 40):

  • HP: 9720
  • ATK: 801
  • DEF: 582
  • SPD: 108
  • CRIT RATE: 15
  • CRIT DMG: 50
  • RES: 15

1. Gorgo (Dark Warbear)

Gorgo has gotten the best treatment so far, with 2As turning him into a crowd control beast.

Gorgo got one of the best treatments out of the Second Awakening monsters, with the 2A adding a passive that increases his Critical Rate by 20% and grants a 50% chance to stun on critical hits. He’s an HP type monster and both of his skills scale off of his HP, making him a great candidate as a bruiser.

His first attack has an 85% chance to reduce the Attack Bar of the enemy by 25%, while his second skill attacks all enemies and reduces their Attack Bar by 15% as well as decreases their attack for two turns.

  • Great monster for ToA with stun and ATB reduction on the same skills
  • ATB control and stun works great for dungeons and Hall of Heroes as well
  • Rune with Revenge for stunning on his Revenge procs
  • Excellent bruiser for PvP offense when built fast; pair with HP lead for even more damage

  • HP: 11205
  • ATK: 351
  • DEF: 549
  • SPD: 101
