Though Melee is a fighting game that has stayed relevant for the past twenty years, its availability is limited by the Gamecube’s lackluster sales. The creators of this emulator are Simonx22 and OatmealDome. Though they have no affiliation with the popular Dolphin project, they did develop DolphiniOS as a port for iOS devices.

2. Dolphin Emulator

This PC emulator is the biggest name in terms of Gamecube emulation. It provides PC gamers with the ability to play both Wii and Gamecube games on their preferred gaming set-up. Dolphin’s software is free and open-source for users.

Linux and Mac owners can download Dolphin onto their systems as well.

The Dolphin software can run games at 1080p versus the standard 480p supported by the Nintendo consoles.

1. Slippi

Slippi is a Melee emulator used in tandem with Dolphin. @Fizzi of Twitter started the project but garnered many donations from those willing to support development.

Slippi’s software gives players access to netplay with other Slippi players. This is essentially Melee but with online capabilities. 

Slippi’s other functions include match replays, live mirroring, and matchmaking. The emulator’s current version is v2.2.4.
