Is Streets of Rage 4 An Indie Game?

Is it Indie?

In many ways, despite being a fairly high profile release due to its longstanding legacy, Streets of Rage 4 is indeed an indie title and a very successful one at that. Despite being the fourth installment in a popular series – this game was actually the product of a partnership between several smaller studios. Developer Guard Crush Games, Dotemu, and Lizardcube.

Guard Crush Games:

They provided the engine framework and acted as the core developer of this ambitious brawler.

Dotemu:

Dotemu also helped publish the highly-anticipated game which would go on to be a critical success.

Lizardcube:

The animators at Lizardcube helped to give Streets of Rage 4 a new identity that payed homage to its predecessors whilst still existing independent of them.
