How To Unlock Streets of Rage 4 Characters

Total Number of Characters:

There are 20 characters in Streets of Rage 4, including the retro unlockable characters and the additional DLC characters.

The bulk of these characters need to be unlocked by standard play. Once your lifetime score meter reaches various milestones, you’ll unlock a retro character. There are 3 SOR 1 characters, 4 SOR 2 characters, and 5 SOR 3 characters to unlock.

DLC:

The DLC comes with 3 additional SOR 4 characters: Max, Shiva, and Estel. They require the initial DLC purchase but are instantly accessible once you boot up the game. They do not require any additional play to unlock.

Special Moves:

Survival Mode in the DLC allows players to equip alternate moves to the entire roster of playable characters, both retro and modern alike. Each character has a lifetime score meter that is added to when grinding in Survival Mode, and when a certain milestone is met, you gain an alternate move that you can equip in the character select menu.
