[Top 3] Honkai Star Rail Best Blade Teams

Honkai Star Rail Best Blade Teams
*laughing in madness* It's time to pay for your pizza!

Ain’t Bladie just the funniest character in Honkai: Star Rail? He is an amazing damage dealer mainly tailored for AoE attacks. He also doesn’t use a lot of SP(skill points), which is pretty sweet if you have other characters who want to spam theirs instead.

In this article, I will focus on the three best teams you can make with Blade. I will also offer alternatives for those who don’t own the ones I mention but still synergize pretty well with our favorite Wind damage dealer.

3. Blade + Dan Heng + Asta + Natasha

The truth of life and death, revealed in an instant.

This particular team composition is perfect for players just starting in the wonderful world of Honkai: Star Rail as all characters besides Bladie are free. Dan Heng and Blade also have a history in the game’s lore, so it’s all the more interesting they synergize well.

What is this team good for? Well, for one, it keeps Blade alive. This murder baby would kill himself otherwise.

Besides the obvious answer, this team also enhances him through Asta’s buffs. If you have her, though, Pela would provide a better alternative to Asta as Blade doesn’t scale too well with attack buffs.

The speed this team provides is neat, still. Dan Heng slows enemies down and Asta speeds your team up. This way you can have your own Sonic murder pug…if that makes any sense.

March 7th is also an alright option instead of Natasha if you prefer her. She provides shields instead of healing, though. Your mileage may vary, but…what doesn’t kill Blade makes him stronger.

Why the Blade FTP Team is a Great Blade Team:

  • It’s very easy to build and obtain. All the characters besides Blade you can get for free as part of the story campaign, so you will have to build some of them either way to a degree.
  • Dan Heng slows enemies down with his ultimate. This gives your team more chances to attack.
  • Asta speeds your team up, doing about the same. Pela may be a better alternative since she can apply AoE defense debuff. You would have to be lucky enough in the gacha to have her and possibly her Eidolons, though.
  • Natasha is an all-round serviceable healer who can keep Blade in check and alive. March 7th would work too if you prefer her.

2. Blade + Jingliu + Pela + Luocha

All will be revealed...

Now we’re talking. This and the following team composition is where it’s at. The FTP team is good too, of course. This, though? It rocks.

A viable team composition is one where Blade is a sub-DPS with another main DPS such as the mysterious Jingliu. Although I do not have either of them in my roster, I know both are strong thanks to my friends and other online resources. Blade demonstrates with his role in this team that he is a versatile DPS.

While Bladie is a self-sustaining AoE damage dealer, Jingliu completes him with her single-target damage. If you don’t own Jingliu, then no worries! You can slot any The Hunt or some Destruction path characters who are tailored single-target damage.

I mentioned Pela before too, but what is interesting is that she can get some interesting support replacements. Welt is one of my favorite characters for this job as he is a versatile unit who can also work as a DPS. That is, provided you have enough SP generation.

Another viable support is Yukong who can increase the damage of both Blade and your choice of a main DPS. If you don’t have her either or you don’t want to build her, almost any Harmony character will work. They will just need to buff the main DPS.

For healing, Luocha is the ideal choice, but he can be difficult to get as he is a limited five-star character. If you have Bailu or Natasha, though, they will do quite fine too.

Why the Sub-DPS Team is a Great Blade Team:

  • It is the most versatile of all the teams listed in this article. You have a lot of freedom of choice when it comes to the main DPS, support, and healer.
  • Blade works well as a sub-DPS in this scenario because he self-sustains. This means he doesn’t need a lot of work to function well in a team.
  • Jingliu (or your Destruction/Hunt character of choice) provides the single-target damage that completes Blade’s AoE one. This is great since you get a lot of coverage.
  • Pela provides defense debuffs that weaken the enemy. This adds even more strength to your team.
  • Luocha synergizes with Blade’s self-destruction mechanic and provides much-needed healing for this team.
  • Although Luocha is the ideal choice, he can also be replaced by other healers such as Bailu and Natasha. This is a less costly alternative for this team.

1. Blade + Silver Wolf + Bronya + Luocha

This combat needs optimizing.

I will be honest with you. I am in the sad situation of being unable to test out this team myself. I own neither Blade nor Silver Wolf. I can’t even use one with the co-op support mechanic without leaving the other out.

I wanted to have both characters on my team, but you know how it goes with RNGesus - he can be pretty picky about who he blesses. So unfortunately, this dream team is just that - a dream - for those of us who aren't so lucky. But hey, I'm not too upset about it since I still have Bronya and Luocha on my side. I just wanted to share my experience and let you know that building this team can be pretty pricey.

Gacha shenanigans aside, let’s focus on what makes this team composition great, shall we? It isn’t a hyper-carry one for nothing, after all. At least on paper and as far as I know, this one’s the cream of the crop.

In this team, Blade is the main DPS, Silver Wolf is a support/DPS hybrid, Bronya is the other support, and Luocha is the healer.

Silver Wolf will apply debuffs on the enemy and keep your team SP positive. Bronya will in turn buff Blade by being able to spam her skill. If you have only Bronya or just Silver Wolf, here’s the silver lining: you can replace them with Pela for her debuffs.

What about Luocha? Am I glad you asked! The blondie has tremendous synergy with Blade’s self-damaging mechanics as he can heal automatically when an ally is low on HP - provided you meet his special ability conditions.

I know from personal experience how juicy the synergy between Luocha and Blade is, but if you don’t own the former, you can make do with any healer, be it Natasha or Bailu. The interesting one is Lynx, though. She can use her skill to heal Blade and increase his chances of getting hit, which allows him to use his delicious follow-up attack sooner.

Why the Hypercarry Team is a Great Blade Team:

  • Blade is the focus of this team and can dish out a lot of damage thanks to his supports and healer.
  • Silver Wolf applies debuffs on the enemy and has the added advantage of keeping the team SP positive. This means that the other characters can spam their skills with no worries.
  • Bronya is a bit more SP-hungry. This is why she synergizes well with Silver Wolf. She also allows Blade to take the spotlight with her neat skill: Combat Redeployment. It allows Blade to take immediate action, raises his damage, and has the added benefit of eliminating debuffs.
  • As mentioned earlier, Luocha has great synergy with Blade as he can heal the self-destructive character automatically with his talent. He can also heal with his skill when his talent is not active.
  • If you don’t own the aforementioned supports (Bronya/Silver Wolf), Pela is a good alternative since she can apply damage debuffs to enemies.
  • Technically, any healer will do if you don’t have Luocha. I recommend Lynx for her ability to make Blade the focus of aggro when he is healed.
