[Top 10] Grounded Best Healing Items (And How To Get Them)

Grounded Best Healing Items
Stay in the red or end up dead

In the world of Grounded, the backyard is an unforgiving place. You can take damage from bites, stings, poison, gas, and, most annoyingly, an unfortunate fall just when your dandelion tuft has run out of charge. A good set of armor can only get you so far, and as you get to the later parts of the game, having something to top up your health will be a must.

Thankfully, the game has a plethora of healing items to choose from and use to live to fight another day. Whether it's food, smoothies, bandages, or other items, there are plenty of options when it comes to getting health.

Read on as we look at the 10 best healing items (in no particular order) in Grounded.

1. Fibre Bandages

How to make Fiber Bandages

The Fiber Bandage is most likely the first healing item you will either craft or find in the game. The healing bandage is great. You can get the recipe from analysing some plant fiber, but they are also scattered around the map at some of the labs and research stations.

The bandage does not provide immediate healing, but rather a gradual healing over time. Be careful, though, as they don't stack so there is no point in using multiple in an attempt to get your health back quicker. On the bright side, it is one of the few items that has a purchasable upgrade from Burg.l, which reduces the resource cost, making it handy throughout the game.

Stats:

  • Gradual health
  • Total resources:

Resources needed:

  • 3 Plant Fiber (the upgrade needs 1)
  • 2  Sap (the upgrade needs 1)

2. Granola Bars

Some Granola bar locations

Granola bars are technically a hunger item rather than a health item, but that doesn’t stop them from being one of the best health items in the game. It will instantly restore a third of your health when you eat it, so it can be helpful for heavy-hitting enemies.

You can find them dotted around the map at various labs and research stations. It is a finite resource, though, so try to save them for boss fights or hard areas rather than actually using them as food items.

Stats:

  • Instant 33.3% health
  • 14.5% food

3. Bug Roasts

How to make the Spit Roast

Like most modern survival games, if you don't eat in Grounded, you will die. On the bright side, it is actually pretty easy to get food in the early game, as all you need is a spit and meat. Most of the “Roast” consumables will restore health upon consumption.

Unfortunately, these aren’t great to bring with you on long journeys, as they do gradually rot until they are inedible. They also don't stack, so while you can cook three at a time, that means they will take up three precious inventory slots.

List of roasts:

  • Aphid roast
  • Cooked tadpole meat
  • Gnat roast
  • Grub roast
  • Water flea roast
  • Weevil roast

Stats:

  • +40% health
  • +50% food

4. Biomedical Badge

Where to find the badge

The Biomedical badge is one of the new trinkets added to the full release of the game. It can be found in the sandbox on the skeleton next to the zipline anchor (which leads to the picnic table). The badge regenerates your health over time. However, this comes at a cost, as wearing the badge will reduce your hunger bar quicker.

As a trinket, it is an equipable item rather than a consumable, meaning that you won't be able to have a dandelion tuft equipped at the same time, so watch out for heights.

Stats:

  • Regenerate health over time
  • Increases food drain

5. Compliance Badge

Where to find the badge

The second trinket on the list, the Compliance badge, works a little differently to the biomedical bandage, as it restores health on perfect blocks (when the shield gives gold sparks).

You will find this trinket on a skeleton near the power outlet as you enter the hedge near the house. Be careful, as if you go there in the early game, it is swarming with larvae, which can be difficult when they attack as a group.

Stats:

  • 8% health on perfect block
  • Reduces damage resistance by 35%.

6. Sticky Questionable Slop

How to make the smoothie station

Sticky questionable slop is an easy smoothie that requires pretty much anything as long as you use chewing gum as the base. To make it, you will need to make a smooth station as well as chewing gum, which requires the Tier II black ant shovel.

The best things to put in it would be plant fibre, sprigs, or clover, as they are cheap resources that are generally easy to gather. Overall, there are better healing smoothies, but this is the cheapest, and it will give you health over time.

Stats:

  • Health over time 240 second

7. Fuzz on the Rocks

How to make Fuzz on the Rocks

The fuzz on the rocks is the second smoothie on the list. It is more expensive to craft than the questionable slop, but it will also increase your maximum health. You need a smoothie station to craft it, and you can unlock the recipe by scanning some mite fuzz.

To get the most out of the smoothie, it is recommended that you use either a muscle sprout or chewing gum to make the sticky or beefy version of the smoothie.

Stats:

  • Increase max health
  • Beefy lasts 120 sec
  • Sticky lasts 240 sec

Recipe:

  • 1 Clay
  • 1 Mite Fuzz
  • 1 Pebblet
  • 1 Chewing gum or Muscle sprout

8. Healbasas

How to get blood sacks

Healbasas are a great healing item for multiplayer. It is a blood sack that you throw on the ground to give yourself and anyone nearby an instantaneous health boost. To unlock the recipe, you need to analyse a blood sack, which you can pick up from either a mosquito or a tiger mosquito.

Compared to some other items, it can seem like a little bit of an effort to make as it will cost you a mosquito blood sack and silk rope. However, it does not require a workbench to make, and they stack in your inventory, so it will not take up as much space as some of the other items on the list.

Stats:

  • Instant Heal, amount depends on proximity to the splash.

Total resources:

  • 1 Blood sack
  • 2 Silk rope

9. Charcoal Hot Spring

Where to find hot spring

The hot spring is a place rather than an item that you can use. It is a pool of water that you can find in the barbecue spill. This is useful as there are not a lot of healing resources, but there are a lot of enemies, not to mention the sizzle damage from the hot coals.

Sitting in the pool will restore your health over time, and it will heal 1 health point every 2 seconds for 160 seconds. It can make it a convenient place to have a mini-base while in the upper yard, which is far more deadly than the rest of the garden.

10. Mosquito/ Tiger Mosquito Rapier

How to get the parts

Although the mosquito needles are a weapon rather than a consumable, they are a great health item as they have a life-stealing effect. You unlock the recipe by scanning each of the bugs' needles, and you can craft them on a workbench.

The swords are a great item to pair with a shield, as the shield will protect you from damage, and then you can poke with the rapier. This is useful at chipping away tanking foes health while keeping yours topped up without going to your hot bar (which can be trick on console in the heat of battle),

Base Stats:

  • Tier II, Stabbing, Life steal
  • Fast
  • Damage 14/28/42

Total resources needed:

  • 2 Mosquito Beak
  • 2 Silk Rope
  • 2 Mosquito Blood Sack
