What are the best spots to hunt/farm in Far Cry 5?

One of the best ways to get money quickly in Far Cry 5 is by hunting, and knowing where to hunt is very important. Hunting animals can be both frustrating and time-consuming unless you know where the best spots are. Here is a list of the top 10 Far Cry 5 farming locations and exactly what you can get out of your time spent there.

10.  Lake Northwest Of Rattlesnake Trail Bridge-

The red circle, northwest of Rattlesnake Trail Bridge, is where this hunting location is. 

This Hunting spot is located to the northwest of Rattlesnake Trail Bridge and the Prepper Stash which is just outside the outline for Jacob’s region. The best way to hunt at this location is to start at the vendor and hunt animals in a clockwise direction around the lake, following the dirt path.  

The best weapons to use at this spot would be an LMG or sniper rifle and use the Harvest Master perk which gives you double loot, if you use a bow, it gives you quadruple loot. The Journey Pack perk is also very useful as it allows you to carry more inventory.

This is a great farming spot and can earn you money very quickly. Some of the animals you will find here are black bears, deer, caribou, alpha caribou, wolves, wolf leaders, arctic grayling salmon, grizzly bears, and cougars.

Why Rattlesnake Trail Bridge/Lake Is A Great Farming Spot-

• There are a huge number of animals to hunt.

• The animals respawn quickly so it makes an excellent farming spot.

• The lake also has a fishing spot for arctic grayling salmon.

• There is a vendor that is at the lake so you can quickly sell your animal skins.

• This location spawns a lot of very big game animals that sell for more.

• You can lure in black bears and wolf leaders with bait.

• You can earn around $10,000 for each loop, which can take up to 10 minutes.  

• At the end of your loop, you can wingsuit down to the vendor again quickly.

• There are lots of alpha animals that spawn here and guarantee you a big pay.

9. Around Taft Lookout Tower-

The red circle is where the hunting/farming spot primarily is. 

This hunting location is around the Taft Lookout Tower located in Faith’s region. The tower is also located east of Peaches Taxidermy. Once you are there, head southeast until you see the herd of bison. This is a great spawn for hunting bison, though the location is not marked on the map. You can run along in a big circle or get on high ground and work your way down.

The trick for this spot is to kill the bison and collect their skins and bait. Then, you want to throw the bait and kill the animals that will spawn. Repeat this until your inventory is full and you are ready to sell and start another loop.

 A sniper and LMG are the best for killing the bison in this location. The Harvest Master perk and the Journey Pack perk are a must if you would like to max out your total inventory.  The King Of The Jungle perk is also good for this spot because the animals flee less from you.

Grace Armstrong is a great specialist to help you snipe the bison, or you can take advantage of Jess Black’s bow and get extra animal pelts.

Why Taft Lookout Tower Is A Great Farming Spot-

•  This area spawns mainly bison, which gives you $200/pelt and drops bait.

•  There is a vendor that is present in this area.

•  You can use the bison bait to attract other animals.

•  There is a vendor that travels between this hunting spot and Drubman Marina.

•  You can make up to $10,000 for around 10 minutes of work.

•  This area only naturally spawns bison, unless you use bait.

•  Very easy to hunt this spot if you are with Jess.

•  Can run this hunting spot multiple times.

8. King's Hot Springs Hotel-

This hunting location is in a great area that is fully populated with many different animal types. 

For this Far Cry 5 hunting spot, you want to start at the King’s Hot Springs Hotel located in Faith’s region. You will be hunting the area in between the Hotel and the Moonflower Trailer Park. Once you are at the hotel, look for the sign that warns of skunks and follow that trail into the forest. Follow this trail to the main road that leads to Moonflower Trailer Park and then loop back to the hotel.

The best two perks to use for this area are again Harvest Master, Journey Pack, and King Of The Jungle. If you are doing a solo run, Jess Black or Boomer are the best specialists to have with you for this hunting spot. As with all hunting, a bow is the best choice, but a sniper rifle is also good for this hunting spot.

This is an excellent spot for farming alpha deer, deer, wolves, pronghorn, and cougars. You also pick up a lot of bait from the animals at this hunting spot and can throw bait occasionally to bring in other animals.

Why King's Hot Springs Hotel Is A Great Farming Spot-

• You can earn more than $5,000 just in one loop of hunting this spot.

• A vendor is always present at the hotel to sell to.

• There is a very wide variety of animals to hunt in this spot, including alpha deer.

• There are a few Peggies in this hunting spot, but they are easy to avoid.

• You can throw bait to bring in more animals.

7. US Auto-

This red circle shows where the US Auto hunting spot is that runs all the way to the Prepper Stash. 

This Far Cry 5 hunting spot is located in John’s region between US Auto and the Prepper Stash to the east. You can fast travel to US Auto and work your way north near the road, then from there work your way near the prepper stash, then back to US Auto for the end of your farming loop.

The best weapons to use here are a sniper rifle and an LMG. If you are doing a solo run, Boomer, Grace Armstrong, and Jess Black are the best specialists to have with you for this hunting location. A bow is useful here, but it’s quicker and sometimes easier in this spot to use a Sniper Rifle.

This hunting spot is a prime location for alpha wolverines, black bears, elk, wolves, deer, and more. This farming spot also has a lot of animals that drop bait, which is perfect for attracting more animals.

Why US Auto Is A Great Farming Spot-

• Alpha wolverines can be found here, which fills up your wallet quickly.

• The area is filled with a variety of different big game animals.

• There is a shop vendor at US Auto, which is at the end of the loop.

• The shop vendor is also always there and you don’t have to worry about respawn.

• You can earn more than $10,000 each loop around this hunting spot.

US Auto is the best hunting location for alpha animals. 

6. Davenport Farm-

This hunting spot is right at the Davenport Farm and doesn't require running in a loop. 

This Far Cry 5 hunting spot is located at the Davenport Farm in John’s region. Once you arrive on the farm, you need to get inside the fence and throw some bait. If you do not have bait, you can kill one of the cows or bulls on the farm and they will drop bait. Once you looted the animal that spawns in, pick up the skins and bait and continue this cycle until your inventory is full.

When hunting at this spot you are likely to run into wolves, cougars, black bears, and wolf leaders. The best way to hunt these animals to guarantee the maximum return is by using a bow.

If you are running a solo farming run you should use either Jess Black or Boomer as your specialist. If you use the Harvest Master and Journey Pack perk this will not only give you extra animal skins but double the amount you can hold in your inventory.

Why Davenport Farm Is A Great Farming Spot-

•  You can make $15,000 in 15 minutes farming this hunting spot.

• The cows here drop a lot of bait which you can use at the farm as well.

• There is a Fast Travel location on the farm which makes it easier to travel.

• The cows will respawn if you walk far enough away/ endless bait.

• You can easily run to the nearby Junkyard to sell your inventory.

Far Cry 5 quick and easy money at the Davenport Farm

5. Northwest of Moonflower Trailer Park-

This circle marks yet again another loop run for farming animals.  

For this hunting spot, you need to head Northwest of Moonflower Trailer Park in Faith’s region, near the small lake that has a fishing spot and a hare hunting marker. The best strategy for this area is to run up the steep hill north of the hare hunting marker and run around in a big circle until you have your inventory full.

This Far Cry 5 hunting area is full of hares, deer, grizzly bears, and the occasional variety of animals that will spawn when you throw some bait. The animals here also drop a lot of bait, so use that if you need to fill up any downtime.

If you are running this hunting spot solo, the best specialists to use are Jess Black and Boomer. It is also very useful to use a bow here, as hares are very easy to kill and you won’t scare off any animals. Make sure to have your Harvest Master and Journey Pack perks active as well.

Why Northwest Of Moonflower Trailer Park Is A Great Farming Spot- 

• This is a perfect location for hare, whose skin sells for $300.

• The animals in this location will drop a lot of bait.

• There are numerous vendors nearby to quickly run to and sell your inventory.

• You can make more than $5,000 for about 10 minutes of farming.

• There is a fast travel location nearby.

Moonflower Trailer Park is the best spot for hunting hare in Far Cry 5.

4. Southeast Of Drubman Marina-

Just north of the Taft Lookout Tower is this amazing hunting spot. 

This Far Cry 5 hunting spot is located in Faith’s region, north of the Taft Lookout Tower and southeast of Drubman Marina. This hunting spot is also marked on your map by a moose marker. Start at the moose marker and head into the clearing. Then, work your way around back to the vendor that is to the west of the moose marker.

This hunting area is full of alpha deer, alpha moose, wolves, cougars, and deer. These animals also drop a lot of bait which you can use to attract other animals. The only dangerous predator in this area would be the cougars, which are not hard to hunt.

If running a solo run, Jess Black is your best friend for this hunting spot. Running this area with a bow and using the hunting perks Harvest Master and Journey Pack is going to yield you the best results.

Why Southeast Of Drubman Marina Is A Great Farming Spot-

• This area is a prime location for alpha deer and alpha moose.

• The animals here drop a lot of bait that you can use to lure in more animals.

• There is a vendor located nearby that makes for quick selling and farming.

• The predators are not too bad and it’s Peggie-free.

• You can earn around $8,000 here in 10 minutes.

• It is easy to get to this hunting spot if you fast travel to Drubman Marina.

3. Old Sun Outfitters And The Grill Streak-

This red marker shows this hunting spot between the Old Sun Outfitters and The Grill Streak. 

This Far Cry 5 farming spot in Jacob’s region is a really good spot that circles the Old Sun Outfitters and The Grill Streak. You will start at the Outfitters and fill your inventory with bison and bait. Once you have your ten skins, run to the Grill and do the same for the wolves. After you filled your wolf quota, start looping back to the outfitters and dropping bait along the way to get other animals.

This hunting spot is great for bison, wolves, turkey, deer, black bears, and cougars. The best weapon to use is a rifle for the bison and a bow for everything else. The Harvest Master perk is great to use with the bow as it will quadruple the skins that you pick up

For solo hunting, Boomer is great for this hunting spot so he can help you tag animals. You can also use Jess Black because she is great at bow hunting and will not scare away any animals.

Why Old Sun Outfitters And The Grill Streak Is A Great Farming Spot-

• This area is very quick to farm and full of bison and wolves.

• A quick loop in this area will yield you around $6,000 for 5 minutes of work.

• There is a vendor at the Outfitters that has no risk of respawning from attacks. 

• The animals here will drop some bait and allow you to call in other animals.

• Old Sun Outfitters has a fast travel location.

​2. Wolf's Den-

This hunting spot is just running around the woods near Wolf's Den.

When you first travel to Wolf’s Den in Jacob’s region, go into the woods around the den and throw some bait for the wolverines. Work your way around in a circle looking for caribou and deer, this is great for collecting skin and bait. Continue dropping bait and collecting the animal skins you need until you are full, then go to the vendor near Wolf’s Den and sell.

The animals that you can find in this farming spot are wolves, caribou, wolverines, deer, and skunks. This area also has alpha versions of some of these animals that are here which will give you extra money.

While hunting here, you can use a bow to get your extra skins or you can use a rifle.  The same Harvest Master and Journey Pack perk combo is still perfect for this spot and will get you through this very quickly. For solo animal hunting, either Grace Armstrong or Jess Black would be great for this spot.

Why Wolf's Den Is A Great Farming Spot-

• This area also has fast travel so you can quickly reach this hunting spot.  

• You will have a lot of animals that drop bait in this area.

• You have a very high chance of getting alpha animals in this hunting spot.

• The animals in this area sell for a very good amount.

• Not including alpha animals, you can earn around $9,000 for 10 minutes of hunting.

Wolf's Den is a great place for farming alpha animals and getting tons of money.

1. Eden's Gate Greenhouse-

This is one of the best farming spots if you are looking for alpha wolves and black bears. 

Once you have reached Eden’s Gate Greenhouse in John’s region, walk to the dirt road and fill your inventory with alpha wolves and black bears. Once you have ten of each, you can loop around the Greenhouse in the woods and throw bait until you have your inventory maxed out. There will be a vendor located to the southwest of the Greenhouse, right near the airplane runway.

To farm this Far Cry 5 hunting spot, the second you get on the dirt road start by throwing a piece of bait and you will spawn alpha wolves. If you walk further up the road it will start to spawn black bears. This area can be hunted for alpha wolves, black bears, deer, and skunks.

To quickly farm this hunting spot you will need to use a bow and have the Harvest Master and Journey Pack perks selected. The best specialists for this area would be Jesse Black and Boomer.

Why Eden's Gate Greenhouse Is A Great Farming Spot- 

• This area allows you to farm for around $7,600 in as little as 15 minutes.

• You don’t have to worry about running out of bait, you will loot a lot of bait.

• There is a vendor nearby that you don’t have to worry about respawning.

• There are minimal cultists in the area to scare away animals.

• Eden's Gate Greenhouse has a fast travel location.
