“The King” is up first on the list with his 90-rated promo card. He’s a very unique type of striker. Combining his 6’2 stature and 89 base physicality with 5* skills, 88 pace and 90 dribbling pre-chem-style, he’s a very strong, yet nimble card that is extremely enjoyable to use. You can apply hawk or hunter to him, depending on your play style. Speaking of playstyles, he has technical+, alongside power shot, power header, incisive pass, first touch, trivela, and more. A highly meta set of boosts, that elevates this card even further.

14. Heung Min Son - 90 Versus Fire

The franchise’s favourite, Sonny is back stronger than ever in the new Versus promo. The Korean famously has his 5* weak foot and unique body type, combined with his upgraded stats with our recommended engine chemistry style, such as 95 pace, 96 stamina, 91 dribbling, 93 finishing and 92 shot power, he becomes an absolute beast. Not to mention his ridiculously overpowered set of playstyles, namely power shot, rapid, technical, quick step, and finesse shot+, making him one of the best FC24 strikers in the Prem. You can also apply a hunter chem style if you prefer a little more pace and nearly max shooting, recommended for those who play heavy counterattacking football.

Madrid legend “El Ferrari” is up in 13th. His base icon is one of the most underrated cards in the game, but now with his new promo boosts, he’s now in the spotlight with a tonne of meta upgrades in his 92-rated card. The main talking point will be his new 5* weak foot, which massively increases the dimensions in his game. He’s also ridden with OP playstyles like technical, first touch, quick step, trivela, and most importantly finesse shot+, all of which can get you out of trouble in dire circumstances. The most popular chem style for him is engine, but we recommend hawk instead as a striker, as it increases his strength over 80 and shot power to 96 to go alongside his 92 pace, 90 dribbling and maxed-out 99 finishing. Dalglish comes in at number 12 on this list. He has always been meta since his introduction to the franchise a couple of years ago, and this year is no different. Unfortunately, his 91 is an expired SBC, however, his 89 base card is available on the market for a discounted price.

He is ridiculously popular in his debut year and we all know why. 5* skills and the technical playstyle+, combined with his 92 pace, 94 dribbling, and 89 strength on engine, it’s practically impossible to take the ball off him. He’s also lethal in front of goal, with 90 finishing, 94 shot power, and the power shot playstyle. He also has quick step and 95 stamina. The perfect package if you need a small stocky striker with a rocket in his boots.

The only 4*4* player on this list sitting in 10th, goes to show how phenomenal his card is. The Arsenal legend has the card of your dreams, uncatchable with maxed-out 99 pace on engine, quick step and rapid+, with 95 finishing, 95 dribbling, and meta playstyles such as finesse shot, technical, first touch, and trivela. The introduction of playstyles in FC24 really benefited Henry, who’d never really been usable in-game before, to now having one of the best cards in the game.

9. Cristiano Ronaldo - 91 Winter Wildcards

The sport’s all-time top goal scorer, who no doubt will be topping this list once he retires and receives his icon card, has a tear-inducing 86-rated base card this year. Fortunately, we’ve been blessed with a promo card to roll back the years. 91 pace and 94 dribbling on engine, 92 finishing and 97 shot power are some nice stats, but those aren’t his selling points. As he is Cristiano Ronaldo, he has a massive 8 playstyles, including power shot+ and finesse shot to match his goal-scoring prowess and the meta technical boost. He also is one of the best aerial targets in the game, with 98 jumping, 99 heading, power header, acrobatic, and aerial. To top it all off, a unique CR7 body type to make his animations even more overpowered. I’m sure everyone can collectively say we can’t wait for his icon card.

He’s the blueprint of the perfect card in-game, which truly shows the options we have when he’s only 8th on the list.

In 7th is one of the most popular strikers in the game after his big SBC, most FC players will agree that he’s up there with the most annoying players to come up against. Makes perfect sense when a card of this level can be seen in every other Weekend League team, possessing 97 pace on hawk, 92 dribbling, quick step, and rapid+, combined with his explosive nature makes him feel like the fastest player on the pitch that’s impossible to take the ball off. Incorporating that with his extraordinary 97 finishing, 99 shot power, 5* weak foot, and the power shot playstyle makes him lethal and unpredictable. A phenomenal card.

The only women’s card on the list (although honourable mentions go to Morgan and Smith who just missed out), Hamm is the definition of meta. On hunter, her pace, finishing and shot power are maxed out at 99 with 92 dribbling. Alongside playstyles like rapid, quick step, first touch, finesse shot and power shot+, just looking at the stats will surely make everyone’s mouth water. She also has 5*5*, meaning her card is spotless, which really makes you think about all the available options if she doesn’t even break the top 5.

5. Neymar Jr - 93 Versus Fire

First in the top 5 is the 5*5* himself and his new promo card. This one is a natural striker, as EA caters towards the players who have been switching him up front in-game since the dawn of time. Neymar’s new card looks absolutely unbelievable, with 97 pace, 96 dribbling, and 98 finishing on hunter. His playstyles are relatively weak compared to his other qualities, no shooting perks, but he does have first touch, technical, quick step, trivela, incisive pass, and trickster+. The thing that bumps him high up the list, is because he’s Neymar. Now that might sound silly at first, but being Neymar comes with 5*5*, pure explosive AcceleRATE, and most importantly, his unique body type and animations, making him one of the best and most entertaining cards in the game.

It doesn’t end there. He also has 5*5*, and a plethora of meta playstyles. Technical, first touch, trivela, and the busted power shot+ to name less than half of the list of 9. Cruyff has personally been my favourite FUT card of all time, and I can vouch that no matter the year, he will be up there with FC players’ bucket list cards.

Up in 3rd place, we have the highest-rated card in the game. Pele’s WW card comes in at a lovely 96 overall, with freakish stats on hawk like his 99 max shooting, 98 pace, 95 dribbling, and 5* skills. As expected, his playstyles are also quite overpowered. Finesse shot, power shot, incisive pass, and technical are the pick of the bunch, with a rare quick step+ helping you break through that last line of defence. 4* weak foot isn’t perfect, but having a unique body type does offset that a little. However, the 2 players above him also have unique body types, with even better and more broken animations.

2. Kylian Mbappe - 93 UCL Team of the Group Stage

In for silver is former cover star Kylian Mbappe, who has been terrorising everyone since the start of the game. The Frenchman has two 93-rated cards, but our pick of the bunch is the TOTGS. He has his trademark 98 pace and 5* skills, alongside 99 finishing, 96 shot power, 97 dribbling, and 88 strength on marksman. The reason for us picking the blue Mbappe rather than the POTM is his playstyle, as the latter doesn’t have the all-important power shot. Alongside it are rapid, flair, trivela, and quick step+. Of course, the things that set these top cards apart are their unique body types and animations, and the exact same could be said for Mbappe. He also has a gold card that’s still around 1.5 million at the time of writing, which says everything about this player.

And to no one’s surprise, taking the crown is the FC king himself, R9. We all know this man’s full power from the pro scene, and whatever card comes out, Ronaldo will always be the top pick on their lists. As said previously, his unique body type and animations are everything, but don’t let that take away the fact that on hawk, his pace maxes out at 99, while his (relevant) shooting becomes 99, to combine with his 94 dribbling. He has the technical, finesse shot, quick step+, and of course, the hallmark 5*5*, which is incredible, but perhaps doesn’t quite look like “the best striker in the game”. But if you have played the game, played against him, and watched esports pros utilise him to his full ability, you’ll know exactly why this card is, in fact, the best striker in the game.
