Spooky season doesn’t have to end on October 31. Sometimes, that’s only the beginning! These movies are perfect to keep your inner thrill-seeker, scary lover, crazy self-entertained. Remember, there’s only a year until Halloween.

1. Point Blank

An American remake to a French film of the same name, an ER nurse and a gangster team up to expose corrupt police officers. With one desperate to save his pregnant wife, and the other desperate to save his brother, this American remake will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. The film is available to stream on Netflix.

2. The Highwaymen

After a long hiatus, the period drama that had been in limbo since 2005 was released this year. Set in the 1930s, the movie tells the untold story of the detectives that brought down the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. Starring Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, this movie is a must-see for any history buffs or anyone interested in true crime. The film is available to stream on Netflix.

2. The Perfection

This psychological thriller will have you facing the music every step of the way, with twists and turns with every scene. After meeting her former teacher’s new star pupil, the two spiral into a path of terror and consequences. The movie made its debut in 2018 at Fantastic Fest but was officially released for streaming on Netflix in 2019.

4. Body at Brighton Rock

When Wendy, a part-time park ranger, takes a rough trail assignment, she finds herself making a wrong turn onto a potential crime scene. With no communication and orders to guard the site, Wendy must face nature and fight the urge to run. Just goes to show, don’t bite off more than you can chew just to prove yourself to your friends.

Chadwick Boseman is an NYPD detective that puts New York City on lockdown. His mission: To catch a pair of cop killers. 21 Bridges was released on November 22.

6. In the Shadow of the Moon

Thomas Lockhart, played by Boyd Holbrook, is a Philadelphia police officer obsessed with a serial killer with a method of killing that defies explanation. He’s convinced that catching this killer is his ticket to becoming a detective. This Sci-fi thriller is available for streaming on Netflix.

7. 6 UNDERGROUND

Let’s say you successfully faked your own death and could start over. What would you do? These six agents chose to use their new lives to take the law into their own hands. Ryan Reynolds leads these vigilante agents and will be available for streaming on Netflix on December 13.

9. Knives Out

One dead author, one detective, and a dysfunctional family of suspects. That’s some killer party you had last night, grandpa. With Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Katherine Langford, and much more fantastic talent gathered into this murder mystery, we guarantee a night of laughs, screams, and a lot of claws...ahem...knives out. Knives Out was released on November 27.

10. Angel Has Fallen

Pray that no one thinks that you tried to kill the president because Angel Has Fallen proves that that is not a good thing to be suspected of. When the president of the United States, Morgan Freeman, is attacked whilst fishing with a Secret Service Agent, Gerard Butler, he is almost assassinated. Butler’s character is now a wanted man on the run, trying to clear his name. Angel Has Fallen is the third installment to the Fallen franchise, following Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen.

11. Rust Creek

One of my biggest fears while traveling is making a wrong turn and getting lost in the woods. On top of that, try being hunted by a bunch of ruthless outlaws. That’s what Sawyer has to go through in Rust Creek, as she does exactly that, and puts her trust in an enigmatic loner.

Rebooting the 1988 slasher of the same name, single mother Karen Barclay and her son Andy have moved to a new apartment. In order to cheer her son up, Karen gets him a Buddi doll, who is named none other than Chucky. While the infamous Charles Lee Ray will not be part of this reboot, we can say hidey-ho to Mark Hamill as the murderous AI.

30. Shaft

In the Tall Grass was released in September at the Fantastic Fest and Vancouver International Film Festival, and is available for streaming on Netflix as of October.

A psychologist believes that the three suffer from delusions of grandeur, making them believe that they are superheroes, but there is far more than she realizes.
