METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE gameplay
Now, we’ll take things, to the future!
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a Metal Gear spin off that takes place 4 years after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots.
This makes it the latest game in the franchise story wise.
It follows the former child soldier named Raiden. Raiden was present in former MGS games as a human, but in MGRR he’s a cyborg.
A cyborg bent on stopping a cyborg terrorist group called Desperado Enforcement LLC.
Revengeance is much different from the other Metal Gear games because it’s a hack and slash. This means it relies less on stealth and tactics and more on head to head combat.
I mean why sneak up on your enemies when you can just dismember them limb from limb? You may feel iffy about there being a hack and slash Metal Gear game and that’s understandable.
I mean the series is known mainly for it’s stealth and shooting gameplay. How could they possibly pull off a game that revolves around swordplay? Seems out of their element. Well… Guess what? They did it! That’s right!
Kojima paused the games development until it’s sword based gameplay could be developed properly.
The game was eventually developed by PlatinumGames who, might I say, did a phenomenal job.
As a result, we have a game with an aggressive but silky smooth combat system.
Metal Gear Rising’s mechanics give you the freedom to maul enemy cyborgs with a combination of heavy and light attacks, aerial juggles, stuns, kicks, and other unique attacks.
On top of that there are special modes like “blade mode” and ripper mode that give our protagonist Raiden some spectacular abilities.
If you’re into games with constant action that help you blow off steam or undwind after a long day, then Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance should definitely be on your future play list.
