One of the levels in Mindful Mountain. The design and atmosphere are very gentle. Perfect for children!

14. Give Up - 2015 (PC / Android)

Test your ability in this legendary platformer dedicated to the most skilled players. Jump over cliffs and dodge obstacles to escape each level alive. 

This game was designed to make you give up over frustration. Will you be able to make it to the end?

Choose this game if you like…

• Frenzy, challenging platformers.
• Replaying levels over and over until you get them done. Give Up is a highly brain-demanding game.
• To handle frustration. You can always give up anyway…

13. LittleWarGame - 2014 (PC)

Fancy RTS games? LittleWarGame is for you. 

Build your fortress and raise an army in this cute pixelated game. Compete against other players in the ranked system to prove your strategy. LittleWarGame also provides a map editor and all the mechanics and depth of RTS games.  

Choose this game if you like…

• Medieval fantasy. There are units like dragons, mages, werewolves, priests, and many more. 
• Complex strategy mechanics. You will have to put some time to learn all the skills of each building and unit.
• Great communities! LittleWarGame is a community project run by volunteers. You can also be part of it. 

The fortress of a player under attack. The pixelated design is stunning! Everything looks done with great care.

12. Sigil - 2019 (PC / Android)

Sigil is an unofficial FPS game of the Doom saga. The game is set in hell and does not differ from the Doom original games. It has nine quests, each with a unique death match. 

Sigil was created by a co-creator of the original Doom game. The purpose was to make it as if it was a real fifth Doom episode.  

Choose this game if you like…

• Cult games. Sigil has a small fandom and you can purchase unique items on the official web page.
• James Paddock and Buckethead. They both were in charge of the creation of the game’s soundtrack.
• Hellish atmospheres. The game has demonic/hellish elements not seen in previous games.

Take a look at this mind-blowing hellish design. Truly awesome! It looks just like Doom. 

11. Tiny Heist - 2016 (PC / Android)

Use your cunning and stealth skills to make it to the end of the tower. Collect as many gems as you can without getting caught. Take your time to study each level and think about the best strategy to complete it. 

Tiny Heist is a simple mechanic 8-bit game. Might sound simple but it’s truly fascinating and challenging!  

Choose this game if you like…

• Strategy games. You have to know your exact next move. Improvisation might mean losing.
• Unlocking ranks. Tiny Heist has eight ranks to unlock. Each one is harder than the other.
• Challenging but simple games. The hard mode is much more fast and requires high levels of concentration.  

As you can see there are a lot of obstacles to be aware of. Cameras, guards, red zones. You have to get to the button at the right to pass the level.

10. Alone in the Dark - 1992 / 2023 (PC / SEGA / PS2 / PS3 / Game Boy / Wii / XBOX / Android)

Take the place of private investigator Edward Carnby in this survival horror game. Your mission will be exploring haunted houses and towns. 

The game was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's writings, Vudú, and H.R. Giger's art. Alone in the Dark has been reimagined recently with a brand new game. Despite this, the original first game is as cool as the rest. 

Choose this game if you like…

• Cosmic horror. As I’ve mentioned before, the game was inspired by the master of cosmic horror. 
• Nostalgia games. The first game is quite similar to the very first Resident Evil game. Same view and similar mechanics. If you don’t mind polygonal graphics, you’re going to love this one.
• Strategy. What makes this game different from Resident Evil is that some creatures can’t be defeated by fighting them. You must have a plan and use your cunning to defeat them.

Edward Carnby dressed in an elegant suit walks around a beautiful mansion. The little spiders look very cute.

9. MicroWorks - 2022 (PC)

Compete against other players in micro-game challenges. Destroy turrets. Dodge the obstacles in fast races. Beat the trivia challenge and many other fun microgames. Prove your skills with the final boss in each stage. Every game that you win will give you points, the more you earn the closest you get to being the best. 

MicroWorks also has different game modes for you to enjoy. This is a complete and super entertaining fast-paced game to spend your free time.       

Choose this game if you like…

• Frenzy games. This one challenges your speed and wit. It requires high levels of concentration.
• Competitive games. The goal is to be the best of all players in the room. 
• Fall Guys-kind of games. MicroWorks has gameplay similar to Fall Guys but harder. 

Even boxing is added as a minigame. There’s a wide and original selection of minigames for you to enjoy.

8. Plants vs Zombies - 2009 (PC / XBOX / Android)

A classic and unforgettable one. Plants vs. Zombies is the most famous and acclaimed tower defense game. 

Use your arsenal of plants to keep the zombies away from your house. Think fast and don’t let them eat your brain! And if you get tired of this mode you can enjoy the other game modes as you progress.

This game is excellent. Ever since its release it has been chosen by thousands of people. Don’t be the exception. 

Choose this game if you like…

• Classic games. Plants vs. Zombies is already a classic. But it has a lot of games that have been recently released. Play as much as you want!
• Survivals.
• Zombies and more zombies!

The classic Plants vs. Zombies. These are the creatures you’ll find in the first and second games. But there are plenty more to the date!

7. Deducto - 2022 (PC)

Deducto is a hilarious online roleplay game. The goal is to murder or find out who are the murderers. It follows the Among Us gameplay formula but with unique features. 

The best is the proximity chat and the weapons. Be careful! This game is not for sensitive souls. 

Choose this game if you like…

• Annoy people. The game was specifically designed for that.
• Investigation. Just like Among Us, you must investigate who the murderers are. Follow the clues and guess the right answer!
• Stabbing people. Yes, if you like to murder in-game, Deducto has some fun mechanics to it.

This is a hilarious screenshot of a gameplay that shows how much fun can it be. Everybody is suspicious, even you!

6. 3 Blind Mice: A Remediation Game for Improper Children - 2013 (PC)

As the title dictates, this is a remediation game. 3 Blind Mice is a short interactive horror experience. Might be the weirdest game I’ve tried so far. 

The game will test your obedience through ten questions and puzzles. DON’T fail.     

Choose this game if you like…

• Coffee break games. It takes about five minutes to finish it.
• Visual novels. This game consists of answering questions that will form a story. 
• Psychological experiences. 

Just a creepy capture of the game. There are in fact, three blind mice. And those are their eyes.

5. Minigame Madness - 2023 (PC)

Have fun with a huge collection of great online minigames. Join other players and compete for loot and badges. You can choose to play Arcade, Royale, or Teams. Each mode has unique mechanics so you never get bored again. 

More than 100 minigames are part of this frenetic title. You can even host a private server for you and your friends. 

Minigame Madness is yet to be released but you can play the demo for now. Which is also super fun to play!     

Choose this game if you like…

• Challenging run and dodge games. You have to think fast!
• Collecting stuff. Minigame Madness has a lot of loot and cool badges for you to collect. You must unlock the different achievements to get the badges. It also provides detailed statistics to compare with other players.
• Highly customizable character. The little creatures have hundreds of faces, clothes, and accessories to choose from. 

Look at this crazy scenario! A cube with more cubes inside, deep in the ocean waters. Can you guess what the game is about?

4. Fishdom - 2008 (PC / Android)

Dive into the depths of the ocean and keep your fish alive. Several dangerous creatures will try to eat your fish. Make it grow bigger. Buy other fish. Build an aquarium for them and have fun! 

Don’t let the cute design trick you. This game is quite challenging.

Choose this game if you like…

• Nemo. It has the clownfish and Doris as playable fishes!
• Slow progress. The game can get really hard with each level reached. 
• Repetitive games. Fishdom is similar to the snake game. Although it has some minigames, the main game will always be the same (but harder).

Fun factor score: 70/100

Take a look at this aquarium with a clownfish and a hippo tang. Both were in the Nemo movie!

3. Mahjong Titans (PC / Android)

Mahjong is an iconic game born in China. Is a simple game. There are tiles on a board, one over the other. You have the find the matching pairs in the right order. The goal is to clear all the tiles from the board. The challenge is that to match them, you have to make sure that the tile is not blocked by other tiles. You have one single chance to complete the game. If you run out of moves the game is over.  

Choose this game if you like…

• Strategy games.
• Easy to learn. Unlike most strategy games, Mahjong is very simple to understand.
• Single-player games. Mahjong is not meant to be multiplayer.

2. Zuma - 2003 (PC / PS3 / XBOX / iOS / Android)

This addictive strategy game has been one of the most fun minigames to play. 

In Zuma, you have to shoot a ball to match them in groups of three balls of the same color. Eliminate the balls before they reach the skull. 

Certain balls have special powers that will help you through each level. It might be quite old but is as fun as the day it was released. There are plenty of similar games but Zuma has kept its place as one of the most fun to play. 

Choose this game if you like…

• Inca culture. The game’s design and soundtrack are inspired by the Incas. 
• Frogs! 
• Coffee break games. Zuma is a short minigame that requires few brain cells.

The design of Zuma is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. So many details for such a simple game.

1. Guitar Flash - 2007 (PC / Android / iOS)

Fancy a great Guitar Hero-like game but without paying a cent? Guitar Flash is for you! 

This game is perfect. An absolute beauty for metal/rock fans. Click on the song you want and smash that guitar (or keyboard). The list of songs available to play is huge. It has a wide variety of styles and bands to choose from. Maybe you’ll find your favorite band on the list.

Choose this game if you like…

• Rock/metal music. Of course, if you are into heavy music, you’re going to love Guitar Flash.
• Challenges. This game’s harder level is TRULY hard. To be the best you have to train those fingers.
• Coordination games.
