[Top 10] AC Origins Best Weapons And How To Get Them

AC Origins Best Weapons
Samurai pose - perhaps a reference to a future title?

What are the best weapons you can possibly get?

In Assassin’s Creed: Origins you play as Bayek of Siwa – protector of the innocent and professional badass. As you journey through vast deserts, mountains and cities, you will encounter many different types of enemies. You will come across soldiers trying to kill you, wild animals trying to eat you, and will have to deal with surprise attacks from bandits. Luckily you can find the best tools to stab your enemies with style here:

10. Hepzefa’s Sword

Anybody up for a barbeque?

What’s better than a regular sword? A sword that is always on fire – you might want to avoid oil jars, unless you plan to set yourself on fire, too. Use with caution.

Why Hepzefa’s Sword is Great:

  • Max quality level: 122 - higher quality means more added bonuses (e.g., bleeding on hit)
  • Max damage level: 527
  • Critical hit rate III (levels are I, II, III, IV – the higher the number, the higher the strength of the effect)
  • Adrenaline on hurt II (adrenaline is needed to perform special attacks)
  • On fire

How to get Hepzefa’s Sword:

You need to complete the main quest called The Final Weighing, which is at the end of the main story.

9. Amun's Might

It might be a good idea to not stand in my way.

Quite an unusual shape for a sword, but if it represents Amun’s power, it starts to make sense. Amun is the god of the sun and air, so there seems to be a sun at the tip of the sword and its ray extends to the hilt. It gives the impression of the main hero being powered by the sun itself.

Why Amun’s Might is Great:

  • Max quality level: 122
  • Max damage level: 581
  • Critical hit damage III
  • Critical hit rate IV
  • Instant charging (charging swords means you can deal higher damage)

How to get Amun’s Might:

You have to complete the side quest in the afterlife called Gods or Creed, which is part of The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC

8. Golden Wolf

Have you heard the legend of the she-wolf?

The Golden Wolf is a type of gladius, which was the primary weapon of Roman legionaries. The wolf itself is a symbol in Roman mythology – the story of Remus and Romulus explains this. The twin infants were abandoned on the banks of the Tiber River and a she-wolf saved their lives by letting them suckle. The two later became the founders of Rome.

Why Golden Wolf is Great:

  • Max quality level: 121
  • Max damage level: 519
  • Critical hit damage II
  • Critical hit rate IV
  • Health on kill (a portion of your health replenishes on each kill)

How to get Golden Wolf:

There are multiple ways to get the sword. You can “win” it from the Nomad’s Bazaar (gamble), or buy it in the Hidden Ones bureau.

7. Smoke and Mirrors

Ready to control your arrows remotely?

Predator bows are easily the most entertaining in their category. The camera changes to first-person view and follows the arrow you shoot. Learn the Enhanced Predator Bow skill and you can also control it in mid-air. Use it tactically and shoot oil jars to cause mayhem in an enemy camp as the arrows are always on fire. Or go for those sweet headshots.

Why Smoke and Mirrors is Great:

  • Max quality level 123
  • Max damage level 859
  • Stealth damage III (damage dealt while you stay hidden from your enemy)
  • Critical hit rate II
  • On fire

How to get Smoke and Mirrors:

You will have to get rid of one of the Phylakes called the Iron Ram and loot it from his corpse.

6. Storm Blades

Hack and slash your way to glory.

As fast as lightning and as deadly as a desert storm. These dual swords give you a quick way to make your foes bleed. You will have to be as equally quick as Bayek’s slashing attacks to dodge any counterattacks. The reach of these swords is very short, so you will have to be close to your opponent all the time.

Why Storm Blades are Great:

  • Max quality level 122
  • Max damage level: 524
  • Adrenaline Regeneration III
  • Critical hit rate II
  • Instant charging

How to get Storm Blades:

It’s in the hands of a Phylake called Ra’s Mercy, but he won’t give it up on it easily.

5. Sarissa

Keep an eye on your health bar!

Real fact: Sarissa was used by Macedonian phalanxes – a square-shaped military formation that was considered to be invulnerable from the front. Due to the length of the weapon (13-20 ft), even if the enemy broke through the first row, soldiers in the fifth row would still reach their charging opponents. Similarly in Origins, it helps you keep a distance from your attackers.

Why Sarissa is Great:

  • Max quality level: 124
  • Max damage level: 697
  • Critical hit damage III
  • Adrenaline on kill I
  • Cursed (health is capped at 33%)

How to get Sarissa:

You have to confront a Phylake called the Stranger and ask him nicely to hand it over to you. Just kidding, you have to slay him.

4. Tooth of Sobek

Carry the sharpest tooth in Egypt.

Sobek was often depicted as a god with a crocodile head and a human body. Some ancient Egyptian sects believed he created order in the universe. You can certainly create order around you with the “tooth” of this beast. Plan your attacks carefully as you move slower due to the weight of this battle-ax. Fear not – the impressive damage you deal will compensate for the lack of speed.

Why Tooth of Sobek is Great:

  • Quality level (max level unknown): 100
  • Damage level (max level unknown): 505
  • Adrenaline on hurt III
  • Adrenaline II
  • Instant charging

How to get Tooth of Sobek:

It’s part of the Hidden Ones DLC and by completing the quest called Shadows of the Scarab, you will be rewarded with this battle-ax.

3. Staff of Sehetep

...and these are the basics of baseball.

What I love in Origins is the variety of weapons, it’s nice to take a break from the regular sword and go for something blunt. They can be equally deadly in the right hands. Your greatest advantage will be the distance you put between you and your enemies.

Why Staff of Sehetep is Great:

  • Max quality level: 119
  • Max damage level: 363
  • Combo multiplier II (damage dealt is multiplied by a set value on each hit)
  • Bleeding on hit I
  • Health on kill

How to get Staff of Sehetep:

Complete the quest Bad Faith, where you have to assassinate the corrupt priest Sehetep, who is located in Krokodilopolis.

2. Compendium

Don't disturb the sleeping lion.

Few people know that the lion was the symbol of a strong and independent Rome – all the way until the Renaissance. And it’s quite intimidating for someone on your wrong side to see. But why is a shield on a weapons list you may ask? It causes bleeding on block and you can also knock down your enemy once you acquire the Shield charge skill.

Why Compendium is Great:

  • Max quality level: 124
  • Max damage level: 1202
  • Ranged resistance IV
  • Damage absorption value III
  • Bleeding on block

How to get Compendium:

Complete the side quest Playing with fire where you are tasked to assassinate the Roman general, Agrippa.

1. Imitation Siwan Khopesh

"Not fake! Not fake!"

This is a tricky one; it can easily be mistaken for one of those useless rewards you sometimes get in games. The irony is that the best weapon isn’t even genuine as the name suggests, but its damage very much is. Ubisoft was such a troll here. You probably wouldn’t use a weapon that’s name is basically ‘fake’. You should though - this sickle sword combines high damage and bleeding on hit, which makes it the deadliest weapon in the game.

Why Imitation Siwan Khopesh is Great:

  • Max quality level: 123
  • Max damage level: 824
  • Bleeding on hit II
  • Critical damage I
  • Cursed (health capped at 33%, so you have to be good at dodging/blocking)

How to get Imitation Siwan Khopesh:

It’s the reward for completing the quest Forging Siwa, where a little girl tries to sell you fake souvenirs. Her mother gets in trouble with bandits and you have to rescue her.
