About - Thomas Gambino: From staying up to the frail hours loading a Nintendo entertainment system with a Zelda cartridge to now seeing real actors wired to machines to simulate actions as lifelike as possible is astonishing. This is what these eyes had the privilege of seeing. In my writing career, I have had the opportunity to work with numerous professors and their research primarily focused on culture. In the midsts of technology advancements, it can be easy to forget the roots our where the gaming community came from. It is easy to judge one another for how they play, where they play, what they play etc. Although to me it is more about entertainment. One of my preferred styles while writing is to include satire but I can write professionally for an expository format. I am currently attending Rutgers University to pursue a degree in engineering. Some of my favorite gaming genres are role-playing and first-person shooters. Reason being is because they were some of the first games I have ever played growing up. However, as we mature and develop, especially in my case I put down what I love to grow. But, all roads lead back home and gaming journalism was a chance to get back into what I love. As an experienced writer it has come down to three things for myself: state the facts, give little opinion, and prove a point. No matter how we mature or how our culture continually changes one thing remains certain "We like to play video games."
