What is Sensitivity and why is it important?

Mouse sensitivity is the ratio of how far a mouse pointer moves across a screen to the distance a physical mouse is moved. DPI is “dots per inch”. A ‘dot’ is another word for pixels on a monitor or display. 

With 400 DPI,  1 inch of physical mouse movement is equivalent to 400 pixels of movement across the display. Polling Rate (in Hz) is another setting that some mice have, this indicates the frequency at which the device reports back to the PC. 

Higher frequencies increase overall responsiveness and reduce input latency, but consume more energy and reduce battery life (if applicable).
