RPG games are extremely popular. Deckbuilding roguelike games have also proven to be highly popular over the years. ‘Tainted Grail: Conquest’ attempts to take the best of both worlds and mix it into an epic hybrid of the two.
‘Tainted Grail: Conquest’ is set in a world of dark fantasy where the realm that players find themselves in has been contaminated and tainted by “Wyrdness.” The land is full of ancient mysteries and dark secrets. Players can discover the secrets of the Menhirs, Fore-dwellers, and even the darkness behind death as they explore the world they find themselves in.
‘Tainted Grail: Conquest’ features 9 different hero classes that players can choose from. There are over 460 skill cards for players to use, 340 different passive skills, and 50 masteries, or ultimate abilities.
Players have complete freedom to pick their skills and masteries, experimenting with different combinations until they find the most powerful combos that will allow them to take on any mission or any boss that the game throws at them.
As players travel the world they must complete quests, save NPCs, and build their home village which they can fortify and upgrade as they go along. Saving NPCs provides unique passive abilities. According to the game’s developers, these passive abilities will carry over from each run, meaning players will never have to save the same NPCs twice.
‘Tainted Grail: Conquest’ offers an epic adventure built with the best features of both RPG and deckbuilding roguelikes for the ultimate experience.
‘Tainted Grail: Conquest’ is developed by ‘Awaken Realms Digital,’ and it was released on Steam in 2021.
