‘Recursive Ruin’ is a narrative puzzle game following the story of an artist who is suffering from agonizing grief and must somehow come to terms with it.

‘Recursive Ruin’ is set in an infinitely recursive landscape. You must solve puzzles that will twist your noggin into a donut using the landscape and its features to try and figure each puzzle out. The ‘Infinite Realms,’ as they are known, are a fractal landscape colored in all shades of black and grey. 

The physics of the realms are mind-blowing. There are countless bizarre oddities that can be an intriguing and incredible pain in the ass as you try to solve the puzzles that will help you overcome your grief.

As you journey through the realms of solving puzzles, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your emotions. One of the first steps to solving any problem is identifying it accurately first. The same applies to your emotions and complex puzzles.

The world is being scourged by darkness called ‘Ichor.’ You must shape the world and solve its puzzles to overcome ‘Ichor,’ which is the dark force attempting to crush any hope of happiness you have left. With enough willpower and mental gymnastics, you will break free from your agonizing grief and overcome ‘Ichor’ for good.

Don’t twist your mind too much though. We wouldn’t want you walking away from your grief happy but insane!

‘Recursive Ruin’ is developed by ‘Bit Rot.’ The game will be released to Steam on May 18, 2022.
