The theme of good versus evil, or light versus darkness, is one as old as time, mostly because there has always been good and evil and the two generally don’t get along too well. ‘The Light of the Darkness’ is a Metroidvania game that follows this theme.

In ‘The Light of the Darkness,’ there are 3 worlds. One is called ‘Ophelos’ the world of light. The second is called ‘Zigardth’ the world of darkness. And the third is known only as the ‘Lands of Oblivion.’

The civilizations on each of these worlds are named Pales and Darks according to their planets. They have never gotten along and have been fighting brutal wars for years. In the midst of all this chaos, a hybrid comes to life, a mix between Pale and Dark, rejected by both civilizations for his vague semblance to their enemies.

Players play as this hybrid, following his story as he battles to survive in a harsh world. Players must battle enemies and uncover secrets on their quest to unite the two warring worlds and end the devastation caused by the long war. They must also embark on a journey to discover the truth behind the creation of the hybrid, and seek to uncover how he came to be in a world where light and dark were bitter enemies.

The hybrid has access to a variety of weapons and equipment and possesses the ability to absorb “essence” from other beings, granting him additional powers and abilities.
