World War 1 was one of the most horrific wars of all time, if not the most horrific one. Battle tactics at that stage were still similar to older tactics where armies squared off at a set time as a football match and men charged across open ground straight at the enemy.

The incredible loss of life during the trench warfare of World War 1 quickly made it apparent that this style of warfare no longer worked.

In ‘Isonzo’ players take on the role of a young soldier that must do his duty to his country and fight its enemies on the battlefields of the first world war. They fight on the Italian battlefields of World War 1. Italy’s involvement in the First World War was not much, but they did fight and as everywhere else in the war, the fight was hard and bloody.

Some of the battlefields players will experience in ‘Isonzo’ include battles in mountains, assaulting and defending heavily dug-in fortifications. They will also fight in city streets, taking block by block, and on river banks, praying not to get hit as they ford rivers and advance on enemy defenses on the opposite banks.

The game has been developed with a focus on recreating authentic WW1 weapons, gear, and experiences, including gas attacks. Players can choose to fight for either the “Kingdom of Italy” or the “Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy.”

‘Isonzo’ was voted the best upcoming Indie Game in 2021 by players. The game is developed by ‘ M2H’ and ‘Blackmill Games’ and will be released on Steam.
