Isles of Yore is a survival MMO prehistoric animal life simulator that is developed and published by Maverick Matryoshka.

Isles of Yore gives players a chance to pick a prehistoric animal of their choosing (dinosaur) and attempt to survive in a realistic prehistoric environment. Players must hunt for food, search for water, and fight for survival against other players and AI characters.

The game reportedly “centers around making you feel like your animal” according to the game’s description on Steam. Players must balance the hunger, thirst, and stamina of the dinosaur that they play. There is a high level of customization, allowing players to create a version of their dino that matches their style.

The game is “ set on a large, diverse island with its own day/night cycle and highly variable weather.” The variable weather includes fog, snow, storms, and even the aurora borealis!

Isles of Yore allows for players to team up with friends and supports in-game voice chat to allow for effective communication with other players in the game. Furthermore, players can host custom servers, giving them control over all the relevant features such as weather, time of day progression, and gameplay parameters such as stat depletion.

The game is rated as containing mature content, primarily due to violent hunting and the subsequent display of blood and gore.
