The first team of researchers that were working in the mining facility started detecting weird ‘anomalies’. Not long after, all contact with the research team was lost and they went completely silent. A second research team was sent in to find out what had happened to the first team.

Players are in control of this second research team and must venture deep underground to try and rescue any survivors from the first team and find out what happened to them after they discovered the anomalies.
