Rome, and the treacherous world of ancient Roman politics, was a dangerous place to be for an aspiring politician or even an ambitious warrior that sought to rise through the ranks, command legions, and earn glory and fame.

‘Expeditions: Rome’ makes this undeniably clear as it tells the story of a young Roman man named Legatus. The story is set in ancient Rome during the time of the mighty Roman empire and starts off with Legatus being on the run from political enemies of his family after his father was murdered by political rivals.

Legatus escapes from Rome and joins the military as it campaigns to subdue a Greek rebellion. He does so in a bid to escape the enemies of his past and find a new purpose in life after his father’s death.

Players must take control of Legatus’ life as he fights in the campaign against the Greeks, and continues on to command his own legion of elite Legionnaires. Players are able to customize Legatus, editing looks, hair, gender, and more.

Freedom of choice is a key element of ‘Expeditions: Rome’, with players being able to decide whether to take a more diplomatic approach and win the hearts and minds of conquered nations through speech, or alternatively, striking enemies with the full might of the Roman military and cowing them into submission.

Players will fight for the glory of Rome using an advanced skill-based action system to run tactical turn-based combat. As they progress across three major war campaigns players can loot, craft, and equip new weapons and abilities that will enable them to crush their enemies with ease.
