After a decade there will finally be a new installment in the ‘Skate’ series. Officially announced in a live event called EA Play, Cuz Parry, Creative Director of ‘Skate,’ informs us that it took a “secret meeting” but there will be a new title in the series.

EA is not the only company headed back to the skate parks though, as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remastered were also announced back in mid-May, and are due for release in September. Much like 2 decades ago, the Tony Hawk series will release multiple games before ‘Skate’ releases one. In fact, the Tony Hawk series released nine titles before, and one the same year, ‘Skate’ was released. We can only hope we hear news on ‘Skate 4’ before we get that many THPS Remasters.

While Mr. Hawk will be manually grinding us into nostalgia, ‘Skate 4’ looks to be an all new endeavor, in a series well loved by Tony Hawk haters and disciples alike. A crowd favorite and highly demanded, the legions of fans who will not be satisfied with a THPS remaster are calling for the game to be released immediately. The game, as described briefly in EA’s live event, is still in “very early stages,” but they are sure to give credit to the fans, saying,” you commented this into existence,” with a large surge happening after the remaster announcement. While no images or dates were released, they promised to keep fans up to date on the goings on with the new game.
