Life and death are mysteries that have been with the human race since the very beginning. 

‘The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story,’ is a mystery adventure game that explores the meaning of life and the mystery of death through 4 different murder cases spanning over a century. You play Haruka Kagami, a novelist.

As Kagami, you find out about the murders and pursue the truth behind them for the ultimate mystery novel. Each of the 4 murders is divided into 4 different phases. 

The first phase is the ‘Incident’ phase, where you watch the incident as it takes place, without actually having the killer revealed. 

The second is the ‘Reasoning’ phase, where you must use your mind to solve clues and puzzles to create hypotheses about what might have happened. Not all of them will be correct, but this is one step closer to solving the puzzle.

The third phase is the ‘Solution’ phase, where you put all the clues together and identify the killer. Try not to pin the murders on any innocent people! Some of the murderers are smart enough and will attempt to refute your claims. Then you will have to use logical reasoning to prove them guilty without question.

If you are successful, you will be a legend for solving a 100-year-old murder mystery. Of course, no murderer likes having people poking their noses into his business, so watch your back out there…

‘The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story’ is developed by ‘Square Enix,’ and is scheduled to be released on Steam in May 2022.
