The Cold War was a very tense era for countries around the globe, but especially for the United States of America and the Soviet Union. Luckily, the Cold War never really turned hot. However, there were definitely incidents where violence did spark up.

‘Arma Reforger’ is a Cold War-era first-person shooter based on an idea where the Cold War does actually go hot, with the United States and the USSR going to war with each other. The game is set on the island of Everon in the mid-Atlantic.

The map is 51km squared, and was previously featured in ‘Operation Flashpoint.’ The environment includes both “pine and broadleaf forests, flowing rivers, ponds, idyllic towns, and austere mountains.” All these natural features make a diverse and dynamic battlefield that allows for all sorts of different combat scenarios.

This brings us to the combat aspect of the game. You can play as either US or Soviet Army soldiers in realistic online battles. Teamwork is a key aspect of the game since you and your team will need to coordinate to capture positions, carry out objectives, and ultimately win the battle.

If you’re feeling particularly creative, you can even create custom matches, missions, and events in the ‘Game Master’ mode. ‘Arma Reforger’ is coming to both Xbox and PC. Additionally, all ‘Arma’ modded content is also becoming available for console players.

‘Arma Reforger’ is built to be easily modded. You will be able to mod the game using the tools that were used to build it. According to the developers, this is credited to the new ‘Enfusion’ game engine that has been used for ‘Arma Reforger.’
