‘Deathly Stillness’ was reportedly built as a project game in just 17 days. According to its developer, the game has no plot, no campaign, no nothing really.

They developed the game as a third-person zombie shooter, where the only goal is to kill all the zombies without going down or running out of ammo.

Despite the developer’s warning that players should not have high expectations for the game due to how quickly it was built and its lack of narrative etc, the game has still raked in overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, with over eleven thousand positive reviews since its release in September 2021.

Players must choose from a selection of weapons with varying skill caps to use to cut down the zombie hordes. According to the developers, unless players are superior video game marksmen, they will need to do a bit of searching for ammo and supplies.

As an added twist, there are no med packs in the game, but health does not auto-generate either, so players have one chance, and one chance only, to defeat the hordes if they wish to beat the game.

Besides the range of different weapons, if players choose to go the melee route, they will be granted a special one-blow-one-kill ability after a streak of 5 melee kills. According to the developer, the game only has two maps and serves primarily as part of a learning portfolio as a project game for the developer’s studies.

‘Deathly Stillness’ was developed by a Chinese developer and released on Steam on the 4th of September, 2021.
