Vermintide 2 Bosses Guide

Vermintide 2 Bosses Guide
The heroes have gotten on Rasknitt's last nerve, yes yes!

While the monsters that appear in each level are commonly referred to as bosses, this guide pertains to the big bad guys like Halescourge, Spinemangler, Ribspreader and Rasknitt. This guide contains general tips for defeating them as well as a bit of banter about what I think makes fighting them so awesome.

Halescourge

He’s a great big bundle of fun. If bathing in indiscernible muck and filth is your idea of fun.

Easily the best part about this fight is when Halescourge sends out swarms of flies that when they hit you, leave your character helplessly flailing their arms around.

How to win

Halescourge hurls a spree of slimy attacks that are difficult to dodge, almost impossibly so if your up close, and whenever he returns to the center of the room he casts powerful spells. Keep to the edges of the room to avoid his big attacks and be a good distance away if he’s targeting you.

Weakness

Slow attacks and low damage: Halescourge will take a while to kill you on his own. Focus on taking out his goons as soon as they enter the fight and you won't be in too much danger.

Spinemangler

A rat with a mean streak a mile wide, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

What makes this fight fun is the way Spinemangler is freaking out, wandering aimlessly and smacking everyone around him.

How to win: Spinemangler furiously strikes at a single target, if he’s after you, just try to avoid his attacks until he turns his attention to someone else.

Weakness

Doesn't play well with others: All the bosses call in waves of enemies to help out, none of them rack up the friendly kills quite like Spinemangler.

Ribspreader

He hurls his axe, charges like a madman and has a funny lisp. What more could you ask for?

The funnest aspect of this fight is the fact that pretty much all of his attacks send people flying.

How to win

Ribspreader is easy to avoid, but can be devastating if he attacks you while your disrupted by his minions. Keep the area free of other enemies so you can focus on blocking Ribspreader’s attacks.

Weakness

No block piercing attacks: If you keep your guard up, he can't do much more than toss you around.

Rasknitt

Our favorite little seer rat has something new for show and tell, a giant rat mount that dual-wields machine guns!

This battle is a spectacle to behold. The hordes of rats, green gunfire and magic spells everywhere make this a fight to remember.

How to win

Rasknitt and Deathrattler have ranged attacks that are unblockable and deal heavy damage, so at least one member of the team has to close the distance and attack them. Hitting Deathrattler in the back has a chance of stopping his gunfire attack and simply being near him provokes him to spend time slamming the ground to push you away instead of using his more dangerous ranged attack. When Rasknitt is off his mount, he casts spells that are unblockable and significantly damaging, most attacks keep him from using his magic; check your surroundings to make sure your not being flanked by Rasknitts’s minions, fire at Rasknitt to stop his attacks while you close the distance and once your in melee range continue striking him so that he can’t recuperate. Repeat this process whenever he teleports away until he is dead.

Weakness

Disrupted by attacks: Both Rasknitt and Deathrattler are much less dangerous when under attack. Keep the pressure on them and things will be a lot easier.

The following video was intended to focus on what to do in this fight, but because of human error you get to see what not to do as well.
