Tokyo Ghoul Best Moments Worth Watching Again


Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy series based on the seinen manga of the same name that is written by Sui Ishida. One of the most popular anime, it follows the story of Kaneki Ken, a university freshman who lives in a world where ghouls live among humans but conceal their true nature due to the threat of being hunted. In today's article, we have compiled a list of 15 of the best moments in Tokyo Ghoul that are worth watching again.

15. Koma and Irimi face the CCG

Enji Koma and Kaya Irimi were ghouls who worked at Anteiku as waiters. Koma was the leader of the Apes ghoul gang and was known as the Devil Ape, while Irimi was the leader of the Black Dobbers and was known as the Black Dog. During the Owl Suppression Operation, Enji, and Irimi are confronted by CCG investigators and use their respective gangs to fight back, proving they are powerful ghouls.

14. Kaneki's reunion with Touka

After Kaneki accepted his ghoul side, he decided to join the Aogiri Tree so that he could protect his friends at Anteiku and Touka Kirishima. Months later, he returned to the 20th ward and met Touka, but their reunion ended in an argument and Touka beating him up in an emotional scene that is worth watching again.

Hinami Fueguchi was a ghoul whose parents were killed by ghoul investigators. After she joined Anteiku under the care of Touka, she was confronted by Mado Kureo, the CCG investigator who killed her mother. Touka battled Mado to protect Hinami, but Hinami eventually released her own kagune and cornered the investigator, giving Touka a window of opportunity to defeat him.

Shuu Tsukiyama was obsessed with devouring Kaneki and kidnapped Kimi Nishino, Nishiki's girlfriend, in a ploy to lure Kaneki. When Nishiki and Kaneki tried to fight him, they were effortlessly beaten down until Touka arrived and, after eating Kaneki's flesh, was able to turn the fight around and defeat Tsukiyama.

Ayato Kirishima often expressed indifference and agitation towards Kaneki, viewing him as a weakling and a constant reminder of his father. However, after Kaneki joined the Aogiri Tree, he confronted him about his false pretense and true motives for joining the Aogiri Tree, but when he tried to deny this, Kaneki beat him up, telling him to shut up and listen in one of the best moments in the anime.

Before Kaneki Ken was ever a ghoul, he was a normal human studying Japanese literature at Kamii University. However, after he asked Rize Kamishiro out on a date, everything changed when she duped Kaneki into accompanying her back home through a deserted area, where she revealed herself to be a ghoul and attacked him. Fortunately, Kaneki survived the encounter after multiple steel beams from a construction area above fell onto Rize and crushed her.

9. Kaneki joins Aogiri

After being held captive and undergoing intense torture at the hands of Yamori, Kaneki's personality changed drastically. He trashed his previous ideology of "being hurt rather than hurting others," pledging to crush those who dared threaten his place of belonging. Following this, Kaneki joined the Aogiri Tree and became ruthless, cruel, and brutal in order to protect his friends.

Kaneki was the only ghoul that Amon did not seem to have any real hatred or scorn for, although he had a lot of questions that he wanted to ask him. After fighting Kaneki during the Owl Suppression Operation, Amon lost his arm. Even after being severely wounded by Kaneki's kakuja, Amon persists in staying alive in order to prevent Kaneki from becoming a murderer.

During the Owl Suppression Operation, Kishou Arima, the Special Class Ghoul Investigator famously known as the CCG's Reaper, confronted the One-Eyed Owl alone and managed to sever its arm, forcing it to escape. However, it was later revealed that their battle was only a performance, and in reality, Arima let the One-Eyed Owl escape with Yoshimura as a part of their plan.

At first, Amon thought Kaneki was just a regular ghoul. However, after being spared by Kaneki after their first confrontation and seeing him cry while begging him not to make him a murderer, Amon begins to gain interest in Kaneki as to why he was spared and what his motivations are. This moment is definitely one that needs to be watched again.

5. Yoshimura vs. CCG

Yoshimura was an SSS-rated ghoul and the manager of the Anteiku café. He tried to help ghouls who could not hunt or kill humans for themselves due to his love of both species. Before, under the moniker of the One-Eyed Owl, he repeatedly tried to cover up the real Owl's behavior, who was really his daughter Eto. During the assault on Anteiku, Yoshimura went up against CCG investigators who had come up with the Owl Suppression Operation.

Hideyoshi Nagachika was a normal human and the best friend of Ken Kaneki. At a certain point, he started working part-time at the CCG and soon became an investigation assistant, helping both Koutarou Amon and Akira Mado. However, during the Owl Suppression Operation, Hide was mortally injured by Noro and seemingly died after we are shown Kaneki carrying his body under the falling snow.

During the period when Yamori was torturing Kaneki, a mental construct of Rize gradually convinced Kaneki to abandon his previous ideology of being the one who gets hurt instead of others. By accepting "Rize," Kaneki embraced a more brutal view of the world and accepted his ghoul powers.

Yoshimura was known as Kuzen in the past and was a ghoul that ate humans to survive but took it further by eating other ghouls as well. His name and reputation spread far and wide, and he was offered a position as a "cleaner" within the organization known as V. However, after marrying a human and getting a daughter with her, the organization V hunted him down and killed his wife, forcing him to abandon his daughter to protect her from them.

Jason saw Kaneki as a good "toy" for his hobby of torturing. He viewed him as a weak, morally-guided boy and made use of his powerful regenerative ability to satisfy his sadistic pleasures. However, Kaneki turned the tables on him, escaped his bindings, and eventually defeated him, eating his kagune and leaving him lying helplessly in his hobby room.
